really good tip- to advance time as fast as possible, do the village quest "prescription pick up"- you just bring 2 kelbi horns with you, deliver them, and the quest is over, and you get two more kelbi horns as quest rewards. You can do this repeatedly and it advances time by a day every time, so you can get ten day cycles done in only a couple minutes
I have come up with a super resource strategy, where i Stun Uragaan 3 times, make him fall twice+2-3times fall over when exausted, + tail destroy + capture :D that gives you 14-15 Mines usually (3x3 stun + 2x2 fall over + random exaust fall over) If you destroy his tail, it gives you additional chances of obtaing Lava nugget. Also you gotta go to village -> low rank -> Capture Uragaan quest. In rewards you can get stacks of 4xLava nugget, and stacks of 2xLava Nugget in the "Capture/Wound" rewards. It takes around 10 minutes, and on average , i get 12-15 lava nuggets per run, which equals something 20.000 - 22.000 resource points per run on average. Its easy, and its free :D you even get a free trap + tranqs in the box at the start of a quest! Let me know if you want to know the set/weapon details and the procedure of the strategy :)
Gobul Whiskers are my favorite way to generate resources since you can carve the whiskers off before your hunt starts, when he decides to bail and you let him rest enough, and as a carve/reward at the end.
Dragonfell berries can still be obtained but they can't be used to cure blight, they are used for your shots only. The only berry to cure blights is now the null berry, other than the dragonfell berry the rest have been replaced. So nullberry is the most efficient farming method.
You'll also find them easily in fruit/berry locations on the maps. Like the fruit just below the waterfall in area 2 of the Deserted Island. I've easily gotten nulberries there, also the fruit spot in area 9.
1 you need atleast 1 nullberry to use. 2. you also need to have the ammount of rescource points required (gotten from free hunting or delivering a bunch of commodities to Jr.)
I know I've tried mining on him but i'm not very good at it because I'm either too far away or I'm on the opposite side of him when he falls and can't get to mine him in time so I'm just gonna stick to using a switchaxe to break his tail then cap him.
You can get an infinite supply of lava nuggest sfrom Uragaan, if it falls over for any reason you can mine it's back for them, with no limit to the ammount you can dig out. so with enough patience you can just wait for it to become exhausted and start mining once it starts falling over, or use exhaust shot on it's face with the weakest bowgun/bow you can find to make sure you do as little damage as possible on it so that it will last longer for more mining
Hey Shepard, Thanks for the response, and to the cash tip, I am glad the difficulty increases, the reason why I a asked was because I have been killing everything fast and doing it SOLO. lol Thanks.
I know this is old, and I'm years late on this. But Uragaan might actually be better to farm for resources. You can knock him over and mine him twice every time, sometimes 3 times when he falls over himself. You end up with so many lava nuggets, it's crazy.
Supersize dung has a chance of giving whatever you are farming a little more than a dung fertilizer (example: so instead of 10 nulberry, maybe you'll get 12). Dung can be used to make certain bowgun shots and dung bombs; while supersize dung cannot. Supersize dung only serve as fertilizer while regular dung has many purposes.
The uragaan is the best for lava nuggets because you have a chance to get them in rewards and if you do its 4 in each stack, u can also take a pick axe and when he runs out of stamina he rolls and falls over you can mine his back for a 50% chance at one. I'm not sure if there's a limit to mining his back either as i didn't really constantly do it but i got 5-6 in, so i guess aslong as he's out of stamina u've got plenty of chances.
I'm not using a wiki, on the game Monster Hunter Tri-Ultimate, the game that is being played here, the null berry says it cures all blights. The other seeds have been removed.
DLC the 4 mini queropeco, you kill all 4 and get over 8Kz for the mission and sell the sparkly fragments for 1Kz each, you average 16K per game (12Kz per person plus share of rewards), and this is so fun seeing they are so small.
if you combine incomplete crown with the crown's gemstone to, you can still combine the royal crest onto the dazzling crown to make the realmless crown. the order you combine doesnt matter as long as you start with a crown and one of the other two items imo the best way to get resource points is simply to go out into moga woods and capture whatever large monster is out there and turn it in with a hunt report. you will be doing this anyway to get rare star commodities to trade with the argosy captain since something can only be obtained in this way, or be gotten more easily this way. by the time you get to g rank, even a brachydios in moga woods is easy pickin's. moga hunts gives you hundreds or thousonds of resource points without having to item grind. you do enough of that for armor and weapons as it is
It doesn't make sense to make the Realmless Crown except to finish your combos. Realmless Crown is only worth 7000z. Dazzling Crown is worth 6000z. Royal Crest is worth 2000z. 6000z + 2000z = 8000z 8000z > 7000z
after i beat some of the earlier village quest i enjoy just going out in area, and killing the royal ludroths or rathians or what ever is out there. ( the area where you can just go without going on a quest forgot whats its called), and you can get some good items and if your good you wont take to much damage and can combine potions from what you gather there, and it's all around fun to do :)
In MH Tri things are quite different, but generally you just want to hunt and carve Ludroth for sponges and convert those into resources. The best farm item in terms of zen-per-resource in Tri are the thunder berries I believe.
My favorite way of generating resources is to kill/capture Uragaan a few times. I bring a gunlance, and use Wyvern's Fire to knock him over. At this point you can mine Lava Nuggets off of his back, and i usually get 3-4 of them before the kill is even over just by doing that. When captured, i normally get around 4-8 of them in the rewards box. This is very effective, because just one of them is 1500 res. Hope i was able to help :)
You can easily farm Lava Chunks by getting a Uraagan exhausted and mining it's back repeated when it trips from its roll. Same amount of points and you can get a lot in one run.
I usually make it a point to remove 1 batch of nulberries from every full round of farming, gives me 10 more each time and stil aprox 30k for selling the reminder, never run out that way
If the villagers have something to say, read them. They usually tell you important things so you can progress through the game. Otherwise you'll be stumped.
There's also an NPC, the argosy captain I think, that, every two text boxes or so, randomly inserts a japanese word and then says "means _____". It's pretty great.
Don't make Realmless Crowns, you get an extra 1,000z if you just combine the Incomplete Crowns and the Crown's Gemstone and sell the Royal Crests. Dazzling Crowns (Incomplete + Gemstone) is 6kz while the Royal Crests are 2kz. Any way you combo the 3 base items makes the Realmless Crown which is only 7kz. Enjoy and have fun!
acording to kiranico, selling a dazzling crown and a royal crest gets you 8000z total. and a realmless crown gets you 7000z. so yeah, youre right. you should still make it at least once though just for completion sake.
Noob Question.. but IF i want to capture a monster outside a quest, i just tranq the shit out of them till they fall asleep and.. they're captured ? I'm not sure if it works that way.
Idk what that means but The only 5 star levels I unlocked were harvest tour, fell the lagiacrus, the desert gourmand, the lord of the seas, hammer time, walk 'n' roll, and heat exhaustion, so yeah.
Halloween137 It's a rare type of dung that is needed to upgrade the farm to level 3. You can use it for farming too if you want, but you need to farm it up when you run low.
The best things to farm are godbugs-sure, they are expensive, but if you sell 9 cycles of Godbugs, then take the last cycle, you can keep getting easy money-or at least as long as you keep going to moga to get your resources stocked
@Janon223 I believe you're still lacking the base of underwater ruins (Ceadeus map) Check with the elder's son on turning in resources needed fer the request of building the base
i don't know the drop rate of them but i had 13 lava nuggets and i only fought Uraagan and Agnaktor once each by that point and got bout 25,000 res. points so that might be the most efficient way of getting res. points i'll be looking into it to be just to be sure
If you are G-Rank making money is easy. Just fight the two arzuros in g-rank 6 (Deserted Island Dustup) and it usually takes less than 10 mins to complete (5 for me) and sell the commodities and items at the end. Typical sell would amount to about 30,000 each time. Do the math. Run the quest 3 times(30 minutes) = 90,000z. It's quick and easy fast money. Plus you can farm slick axes too.
Doing this shit s so hard for me. I have the 3DS version so it's not easy to to Tanzia quests since the monsters are a shit ton harder, and I end up getting really banged up a lot so I always have to keep my fields planted with blue mushrooms/herbs/honey.
so wait, what exactly was the purpose of getting the supersize dung? to upgrade the farm? if so, very thurough walkthrough. I love using the nulberry selling, even when you fail you usually still make money!
I didn't realise nullberries were worth quite that much so that's good. It was a bit disappointing that you get so many fewer points from converting fish this time around though so you can't send your boats out to generate resources as easily. Still, fighting Lenos (Uragaans) you get to mine its back a few times per fight and at a 50% chance for Lava nuggets in low rank (40% in high and 30% in G) I usually end up with 6-8 nuggets per fight (12,000 points)
ceadeus shards and coats are worth around 7000-9000 zenny each lol, it's even more zenny than abyssal lagiacrus materials. Considering you get loads of carves from goldbeard itself, you can become a millionaire so so easily.
OMG, a SocialDissonance video! I've waited a long time for this! I love this, and I'll make much more money now, but are you going to be covering an actual 3U playthrough anytime soon? It wouldn't suffice to say I would be excited for it. Hoping to see more in the nearby future! :D
I have done at least 4 dozen quests and trips to the woods and I haven't seen either of them on the forecast. I completed both of the rathalos and lagiacrus quests, but still nothing. The only way i can find them is when they spawn after i kill other monsters, and that is still very rare. Is there something else I'm missing, or do I jus have rotten luck?
The only villager requests I have are: Insecti-pride?, Super Shroom Box, Honey to Burn, Reel Deal, Milk Run, Lamp Mask, and Ancient Mask. I hope that cleared some things up.
Something I want to point out is that he mentions you don't want to combine a dazzling crown with a roryal crest because it isn't very efficient for money gain and then he goes on to combine an incomplete crown with a royal crest and then a gemstone with that... which is actually the same ingredients to make a dazzling crown and then adding the royal crest to it. Dazzling crowns sell for 6k and Realmless Crowns for 7k, but a Royal Crest on it's own sells for 2k, so it's better to just make Dazzling crowns and sell them and then just sell Royal Crests when you happen to get them, that is the most efficient way to make zeni when selling things from treasure runs.
The exception to that of course being if you have a massive stockpile of incomplete crowns or something lying around in which case you might as well combine them with a royal crest in order to make that other crown and then you can just sell that along with your Dazzling Crowns. I never manage to have a stockpile of them lying around though.
Hey shepard, how can you find rathalos and lagiacrus in the moga woods. I keep looking for them, but they never show up. Is there a certain setting (like herbivores breeding) that would hint that the rathalos or lagiacrus will spawn?
Might seeds sell for a bit more, but cost a ton more in resources. You really shouldn't be having a problem getting the resources for nulberries, it's only 200 res for a stack for 10 rounds.
i kept thinking it was from barroth like fertile mud. now i can actually upgrade. thanks sheperd. also if you havent already do you think you and the others can kill a large monster with only boomerangs? i think it'd be hilarious to watch.
I never use dung to farm; always super-sized dung, bugmakerpros, bizzy bees, and shroom germ+. These will give the max. output. I forgot to point out that bugmakerpros are by trade so they don't cost a thing.
I'm in high rank. I captured Nargacuga and White Lagiacrus, and both gave me a ton of high quality rare commodities. I got pretty much everything I needed from that.
That can be good in offline, but when you are in G rank it isn´t enough. In G rank i prefer to do the golden ceadeus quest. It give you 25.000 z per quest (if you don´t die) and you get much more money if sell the materials that don´t need.
My good friend im right now on my item list and theres all of them fire, water, thunder, ice, dragon. null berry cures all blights. how your gonna make dragon shots with no dragonfell berries?
I agree to each his own, but if you're proficient in knocking over an Uragaan and you have good luck, you can mine his back a lot in a fight and end up with 4-6 lava nuggets a fight. I can't comment on Duramboros or if you can gather extra humps from him, if so, both should be equally profitable.
Actually for dungs, I prefer to farm low rank barroth. It's ridiculously fast when you're geared with high rank stuff, and it gives a lot of fertile dung which are, as far as I know, equivalent to supersized dungs. I compared it over 3 rounds of 10 cycles, and everytime I got the same amount of nullberries using fertile and oversized dungs, with a difference of 4 or 5.
Shepard... Not sure if you know this yet or not, but Athena released a fish app for the charm tables that works just like mhvuze site (except it's an app so you never have to worry about it being taken down) Search Athenas fish finder... Should be the first result.
You say using Royal Crest + Dazzling Crown = Realmless Crown isn't cost effective, but when you do the other combination: Royal Crest + Incomplete Crown = Crusted Crown Crusted Crown + Crown's Gemstone = Realmless Crown You're using both the Incomplete Crown and the Crown's Gemstone, which both make a Dazzling Crown when combined. Wouldn't you be using both either way?
While you were in your Chest I had an OCD moment and kept saying press x press x PRESS X.
and btw i really enjoy all your monste hunter videos! the tri videos really helped me, and i think your videos are very well made.

I didn't know Jonah Hill did MH videos
Ha! Nice catch. Does sound like em.
1 you need atleast 1 nullberry to use.
2. you also need to have the ammount of rescource points required (gotten from free hunting or delivering a bunch of commodities to Jr.)
Stormsender seeds aren't in monster hunter 3U, all of the seeds that cure ailments have been replaced with a generic nullberry.
if the brady guide is to be believed, golden eggs are used in fate gems so I'm not sure I would sell them considering they seem to be quite rare.
I know I've tried mining on him but i'm not very good at it because I'm either too far away or I'm on the opposite side of him when he falls and can't get to mine him in time so I'm just gonna stick to using a switchaxe to break his tail then cap him.
This video is amazing ^__^ Helped me out sooo much! Keep up the great videos :D

do you need to be connected online to go to teh old lady or is online only stuff stopped at tri regular
It doesn't seem like the monsters are scaled to me. The Ludroth for the single player tanzia and multiplayer tanzia seemed pretty equal.

So the G rank volvidon/jaggi is more or less the best quest to do while farming now
thanks, I wasn't sure if doing that actually captured them like it did within quests.

So this isn't much different from what we did for MH3 (Tri). Just swap storm seeds with nulberries?
You can only capture monsters if they are weak; meaning they're limping and want to go to their sleeping area.
Idk what that means but The only 5 star levels I unlocked were harvest tour, fell the lagiacrus, the desert gourmand, the lord of the seas, hammer time, walk 'n' roll, and heat exhaustion, so yeah.
What's the point of supersized dung if you dont use it for anything?
It's used to upgrade the farm to Maximum level, and for farming... other than that, for squat

Read what I said.
The video said that you use regular dung for fertilizer, even though it had just given a tutorial on obtaining supersized.

I agree. I didn't even farm either Uragaan or Agnaktor beyond doing their quests once and had 22 when I discovered that each is worth 1500 resources.

If all you wanted was money and resource points weren't a problem, Godbugs sell for the most at 210/bug.
i kept thinking it was from barroth like fertile mud. now i can actually upgrade. thanks sheperd. also if you havent already do you think you and the others can kill a large monster with only boomerangs? i think it'd be hilarious to watch.
If you guys end up running out of resources farm agnaktor and urugaan for lava nuggest but you MUST be high rank in village
low rank works too
how did you captured your gamescreen, what program did you used? I have a DS for MHTU and i would very much like recording my gameplays, any idea?
I never use dung to farm; always super-sized dung, bugmakerpros, bizzy bees, and shroom germ+. These will give the max. output. I forgot to point out that bugmakerpros are by trade so they don't cost a thing.
I just farmed up full Barroth Gunlance and armor, so I'm rolling in fertile mud. Is that a better fertilizer than Super Sized Dung?
where can you get nulberries?
how r the controls for the 3ds version?
I'm in high rank. I captured Nargacuga and White Lagiacrus, and both gave me a ton of high quality rare commodities. I got pretty much everything I needed from that.
Anything that you are able to do online in a quest, is able to be done offline.
Sure, we can figure out something for the podcast.
That can be good in offline, but when you are in G rank it isn´t enough. In G rank i prefer to do the golden ceadeus quest. It give you 25.000 z per quest (if you don´t die) and you get much more money if sell the materials that don´t need.
Hey Shepard! Will you be making a MH3U chard/charm farming video?
Why use Nulberry when Might sells for a little more?
My good friend im right now on my item list and theres all of them fire, water, thunder, ice, dragon. null berry cures all blights. how your gonna make dragon shots with no dragonfell berries?
Yes, from the old lady in tanzia port.
Why null berries? they only sell 120z for each while stormsender seed sell to 130z each. My opinion stromseed makes you even richer.
Nice tutorial. I never thought about something like that but it wouldn't be better if you cultivate power seeds?
Shepard... Not sure if you know this yet or not, but Athena released a fish app for the charm tables that works just like mhvuze site (except it's an app so you never have to worry about it being taken down) Search Athenas fish finder... Should be the first result.
Are you doing a Let's Play for this game like you did for Tri?
Another awesome guide Shepard
I farm Duramboros for humps with poison sns. Low rank goes down in 3-4 mins using Hellnox epee/status+2/felyne specialist.
You say using Royal Crest + Dazzling Crown = Realmless Crown isn't cost effective, but when you do the other combination:
Royal Crest + Incomplete Crown = Crusted Crown
Crusted Crown + Crown's Gemstone = Realmless Crown
You're using both the Incomplete Crown and the Crown's Gemstone, which both make a Dazzling Crown when combined. Wouldn't you be using both either way?
