+Wilbur Jenkins I think it's actually not possible to meet another player, if I recall right from another interview I saw. I think the multiplayer aspect is if I discover enough creatures etc on a planet to be allowed to rename the planet, and you happen to come to that planet in the future. It will have the name I gave it
I heard it depends on where you land and how many people are on the planet. If it's a highly visted plant you have a greater chance of seeing people. I hope they didn't change this.
I heard that you can see people, but the game is too big for it to happen much. extremely unlikely . I mean your what, human sized? There are way too many stars for it to be likely much, considering even if you are in the same system as another player there's still not much of a chance to see them. He has said that the only way to know what the player looks like is to see another player so-.
Oliver Jordan I'm pretty sure they said it will be a single server. And that running into another player will be "rare". There's going to be billions of different plants planets, so seeing someone will be rare.

TG2333 yes I understand that but look at star citizen's time line to date, at the rate they are going at they are another 3 years off, all that does is add to suspense and expectation. If the game isn't a masterpiece on release it is gonna end badly for him.

Everyone's enthusiasm comes from a wonderful place of excitement and wonder, by which we recognize deeply that there is something very, very special about what they're doing. Don't let that wonder curdle; even if it doesn't live up to your expectations, it's opened new doors - for a whole new genre of game, systems that other games could use, and for a kind of interaction with other PCs that a lot of us really crave. My biggest fear with this game is that most of the planets will look like Earth and/or have Earth-like life. I also want to see barren or uninhabitable planets with things like liquid methane seas, gas giants, superheated planets (like Venus), or planets that are just completely barren and gray. There is an unimaginable amount of variety in space. I don't want to see creatures and trees or grass on every planet.
I think Sean said how when they've shown off the game they've only really shown some very vibrant etc planets, and that there are entire dead planets to explore
their problem is over vatiety. There are no stars without solar systems, from what I've seen, no binary systems, and nothing seems to follow an orbital plane at all.
Yeah, that's one of the biggest issue with the game. There's way too much life going on. Every single planet I went to was sprawling with life. That's the absolute opposite of Elite:Dangerous, where every single landable planet is a rocky desert. Exploring gas giants would be pretty awesome too. I can imagine diving in the atmosphere, using scanners to differentiate clouds of various elements, then reaching the core, assuming your ship can withstand the pressure.
that's funny and what i like about no mans sky. from all the planets ive visited (been playing for 4 days now) only two or three had life! and it wasnt abundant. I'm excited to find a planet sprawling with life
Would you happily pay $60 for a braindead shooter with the same levels over and over? I accept the game for what it is. And yeah looking at stunning worlds and having the freedom to go the next one sounds like a interesting enough consept.
lego sand How do you know it's going to cost 60 bucks? It's an indie game. You don't just look at worlds. That would be a game where you would only have your analog sticks to use. You can take part in epic space battles for instance. Or see a bird get eaten by a killer plant. Or million other things.
A lot of them actually are moons, and the planets vary in size. I may be wrong, but if it is procedurally generated then they can make the planets any size they want.
They could put so many cool little Easter eggs and references in this game. Like somewhere in that universe they generate a solar system the same as ours with Earth and Mars and stuff.
I believe this game can be likened to the Velvet Underground's self-titled album, in that it wasn't that popular and dealt with vast and new concepts that had yet to be deeply appreciated. What that album did though was inspire millions of people to start a band. That album has been deemed one of the most influence albums of all time, even though it wasn't extremely well received or popular. No Man's Sky may very well be the developmental starting point for some of the most amazing and interactive games we have ever seen or imagined. Perhaps new games will emerge with more to do or perhaps this game will have new versions or upgrades that come out that will revolutionize gameplay. This is how I perceive this game to be. Important as a foundation, but not one that will live on as it's own entity.
This type of procedurally generated universe game coupled with mature virtual reality technology would be a childhood dream come true. It's stepping into another world, not just playing a game.
in all honesty im getting the same vibe i got from seeing destiny for the first time, i really dont wanna get disappointed, cos this sounds too good to be true, its everything i ever wanted in a sandbox space game...pls pls pls i pray to the gaming gods, do not forsake ,me
atomic jacob I wouldnt expect to much from this game, other than exploration collecting and space battles etc are more of a side objective to exploration
taylor asmah indie > AAA studios in many scenarios. Indie dev studios have a lot to lose, but as you can see...EA (DICE) and Bungie are doing just fine with their flops.
Imagine if Destiny was an open universe like this, with the Star Wars battlefront graphics and in every habitable planet theres people/npc which gives you quest or informations, and you can do whatever you want like GTA V.
Sounds like Star Citizens, but without micro-transactions. Really, the micro-transactions made me hate that game. Now, imagine if Star Wars battlefront wasnt just a Battlefield re-skin with infinite ammo. Imagine that it was an open world game, a game like this. That would have been soooo awesome... And i suspect that it would have been made if EA hadnt been there.
And what you "donated" for is... Ships that you cant even use! Will you deny to me that most ships have to be bought with real money, AND that they are useless?
They need to add the ability to actually build like just taking wood and stone and build a house and I would also love to see rovers that you can build and drive
+Amit cohen (DaDerpyFrag) since stuff is generated on the spot and not saved (because that would take an insane, if not impossible to fund amount of storage and I/O) this is impossible to do on a persistent basis. sadly. :)
When I first started gaming I always dreamed of a game of this scale. My friends and I would fantasize about it and talk about how amazing it would be. We always thought it would be impossible for something like this to exist. But now, just a few years later. It is here. I know it sounds lame but I get really emotional when it comes to this game because its just insane how fast technology has advanced for something like this to exist
+Rix IV Elite Dangerous isnt infinite, but its pretty big, you should try it out. Its £19.99 right now but if you wait for a steam sale it sometimes comes down to £9.99
Yeah, that's what I'm waiting for very impatiently I might add lol. I'm seeing more and more videos of no man's sky with this guy in it, so it's got to be some type of close, right?
Bill Gates No Man's Sky is different than other games, they can't just finish a level and say, "OK that part of the game is done, we can estimate it'll be finished in 2 more months." Since it is ALL procedurally generated, when they make 1 major change to the code, it has ripple effects throughout the whole universe. So development probably looks more like a Sine Wave than a steady straight line upward (if that makes sense). I for one would rather they have time to put in all the features that they would want to make the game they want, rather than rushing out an unfinished version. This is such an ambitious game, and the first of it's kind, I really want them to get it right or other companies might not follow suit.
+Lucas Franco it isn't single player, but everyone is all in the same universe. There are 18 billion multiplied by another billion planets, so it will be extremely hard to find someone. If you do, it will be amazing.
Darkness Reigns Could be the planets environment. Foggy. Irl there can be fog so thick you can't even see 10 feet in front of you. Its scary if you have to drive somehwere
Darkness Reigns I don't think it can be adequately addressed on console. This game wouldn't have been possible on PS3. Because everything is generated on the fly, the limiting factor for this game is calculations per second rather than graphical optimization.
Darkness Reigns The fact that he is in god mode doesn't help either. The environment has to adjust to moving at that speed. When playing the game normally, it feels more natural than what you saw here.
PsychoCraft Yet still has a low view distance and high pop up both in terms of low quality terrain and the higher quality pass. Its not ok and completely ruins the immersion in a game about IMMERSION
What's not false? The posts in this comment thread or the video? If you're saying the video is in no way false: www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4y4i3a/wheres_the_nms_we_were_sold_on_front_page/
Eddie Marshall I think it's weird the U.S.A appropriated 'math'. As a subject, you do 'sums', you use 'numbers', 'equations', etc. Why say math? It done make no sense. 'Math' needs multiples of anything to work, hence 'maths'. Just my 2p.
+leoric21 Yeah, it looks exactly like Spore, Spore also looked awesome on the trailers and then when it was released it dissapointed a lot of people. Same is going to happen to this game probably.
+Kyle Weaver If it was possible for a planet not to orbit around a sun - which it is not -, it still could have day and night because it rotates around its axis, that's what Justin was saying.
+McDoogle I understand that the orbit doesn't cause the change of day and night. but if there is no sun to orbit around there is no day and night. I get the spin of the planet changes day and night.
i have never seen someone lie so much. its not a Infinite Universe .. your in a box that spawns new worlds inside it from what you pick on the bigger map.. you cant fly to stars, its all a trick and when you know the trick is really takes away from the game.
It's not the size he says, not at all. It may have the number of "planets" he claims, but it's not the size he claims. It is also not the game he claimed in pretty much every other way, like you can choose your own path to be a fighter, pirate, trader, explorer or whatever you want. Or you can have a great day/night cycle as the planet orbits the sun. Or you can have a huge fleets in their regions in space, fighting it out with rival fleets at their borders where you can join either side and destroy these huge ships. What else? OH YEAH.... "CAN YOU SEE OTHER PEOPLE?" "YEAH!".
ADucksOpinion well yeah... if it had everthing spawned im sure pc and console would crash, unless they hosted servers for the game to run on as you would say mmo but im happy the way the game was made and will get better with updates, where they perfect with no mans sky? no but its still a amazing game and will get better over time.
1:12 if you pause it you can see a red star, WHAT COULD IT MEAN? also they can't make a sequel. they will release a 30 GB update to double the content including the universe
You wanna know what's really cool about this game? When this is released, the people who made it don't know what's going to come out of their creation. Think of that for a second. They've been working on this game for years, and they don't know what it'll look like. That's just incredible.
@@dawson5008 It is a gem now. Honestly GPU and CPUs weren't powerful enough to make what we actually wanted at the time. 2022 NMS on all ultra settings is just insane!!
+Haebris All local content and files are saved. But they have access to the whole server and files. Because its all online, but if you just kill a bird, that bird will be back. If you take the time, probably 5 days in game time killing a whole species that species on that planet will be dead forever. But most of all the planets are to scale with planets in real life. Sooooo
+Gabriel Maranhão Its funny, because you could blow a planet off the face of the universe and that would be completely fine for the game because there are stupid amounts of planets in the game so one blown up planet won't matter for the game. To the players, NPCs, or whatever living on it (if any at all), they will care. If they notice you trying to destroy the entire planet, they can go to war with you, especially if they are players. You can start wars that almost every other person not living in that galaxy will not know about. I personally can't wait for a war that was started that is so big that it is actually known about online, if that is even possible. And again, the Devs don't have to worry. You could blow up six galaxies and they couldn't care less since it's not even 0.00001% of the game.
I am not a gamer. Never have been, probably never will be. Only time I've ever played a video game was about 5 mins of duck hunt at my cousin's house as a little kid.... but this looks so incredibly awesome.... I want it! Great job!!
Imagine if you were able to simply know where other people were by typing in a planet or solar systems name, warping too it, and finding other people? now imagine if a 300x300 clan size war were to do that all at once. Imagine 300 people all warping to fight 300 people who are warping to the same planet and immediately start fighting them.... Imagine how amazing that would be. Simply knowing where other people are or having the ability to warp to a solar systems coordinates your friend has told you... that would be an amazing add on to this game.
Tim van der Kooij They explain that in another video, why that is, there was debate over it. They chose to go with closer planets for aesthetics, however he has said that there are other stars where they are realistically spaced, but they aren't as common.
3 qecs: if i shot the ground, and lets say i make a tunnel. if i ever get back to that planet(or if another player will get there) will the tunnel still be there? does every planet has different night and day cycle? can you actually go to those moons?
@Michael Stewart They've mentioned that interactions you've made to various planets are stored for your viewing, but visitors will not be able to view any real carnage you've done to the planet. They can only see what you've named, and all this information is stored on the cloud so no hard space needed.
2:40 i love how modern game design is mimicking some of the ancient philosophical theories on reality itself. For example the concept that, reality literally exists when you as a concious being is observing it. When you leave, it ceases to exist. Just awesome how such ancient concepts are manifested today in modern game design just as a proccess of problem-solving how to create huge content without needing to save it on disk..
If it's true that the planets are generated the same way you left them, I'm going to become a sort of Death Star and destroy as many planets as possible. So when and if people find the planet they'll be like wtf happened to the structure of the planet. I'll leave my mark and continue destroying!!!!
This game is for people who are creative and can do very much with very little. We don't NEED a storyline or combat intensive gameplay to love the hell out of a game. I've been waiting for a game like this for such a long time, I never thought it would come. Everything about this game gets me excited. This is best suited to my play style because this game doesn't hold your hand. It just lets you be you and play how you want. That's exactly what I like. I love the optimism of Sean and the team. I trust them to deliver. I've never anticipated a game this much.
Sometimes I find it strange how every time they visit a "random" planet (I'm not talking about this video in particular), but there is always water, vegetation and various forms of life, the way to find life in the No Man's Sky universe is very common. I hope this game really surprise us as the first time it was announced. These constants videos are getting boring, we want the release date!
Everton Felix It's because Sean Murray amped up the life rate for planets in the demos, so it's unlikely for someone to find a barren planet in the demos.
Everton Felix i would also like to point out the every video besides the 5 planets video has been in the same solar system and mostly on the saem planet
i have done almost everything in no mans sky except explore each and every planet. i hope all the best for NMS 2. revolving and rotating planets and moons would be tremendous. just need a faster pulse drive.
You could set chunks of this guys dialog to music and then show real planets and stars and have a compelling description of how the universe may actually work. "It's all in the math, generated at the micro and macro level." So trippy.
Young Dirtbag Same, this seems too good to be true. 18 quintillion planets sized planets still seems far fetched to me, but apparently it's true, however, something as bu has to be taken away to fulfil that. To me that's all of them being the same. If I don't see a planet with buildings or humanoid life forms with various different planets I'm going to be pissed. However, if they were to say "This will be implemented in an update, we just couldn't do it within the release time" then I'll be okay it's all good because at least we know it's gonna come
+H-Bomber Thats a good point. Didnt think of patches and updates, but I agree it would get redundant just seeing different environment skins, but like you said with that many planets and renders already in place it seems too hopeful to expect cities and buildings. Surprised at how amazing it looks already though for an indie company.
Sean Murray seems honest. And this is the exact kind of game that most or some of us have been craving for quite some time. I am looking foward to No Mans Sky. Thank you Sean for creating and awesome and Gigantic universe.
A multiplayer game where I will probably never see another person. Sounds like my kind of game.
+Wilbur Jenkins I think it's actually not possible to meet another player, if I recall right from another interview I saw. I think the multiplayer aspect is if I discover enough creatures etc on a planet to be allowed to rename the planet, and you happen to come to that planet in the future. @@ALECXANDER. you talking about the e3 build?
The closest retail version to the one in the video is the Pathfinder version of the game. If you have a pc, download it and you won't be disappointed.

possible, because they say to find all the planets in tbis game will take 500,000,000,000 years. that really shows you the scale of this game
Will some planets have different layers? Say, a planet is covered in ice and snow that doesn't seem to support life, but when I dig deeper, I'll find a hidden ocean beneath it full of marine animals?
Their will be caves so why not underground oceans

that would be amazing
+SharkVsDuck that's a million dollar idea!
+Alien Guy Thanks
Who else would like to see small companion animals.
R2d2 confirmed
Eaawesome59 I want a Haro! :D
Eaawesome59 what about planet sized planets..
Eaawesome59 Add a personal assistant like Cortana could really make our interplanet trips more fun!!
Eaawesome59 I can see it now. "Pre-Order Bonus: Baby Dinosaur"
What an incredible programming achievement. I can't believe I've only just seen this video.
+Inky Hip Love the analogy.
This type of procedurally generated universe game coupled with mature virtual reality technology would be a childhood dream come true. It's stepping into another world, not just playing a game.
Lol nope, No mans sky was and still is garbage.
...buttttt release date??
Dexter My butt releases August 10th.
Free with PS+, too.
Dexter i say they should use as much time as they need on this masterpiece.
Ikr
Zack Thor Exaaaaaactly! This isn't an ordinary game, and development progress is probably much different.
mcdillard the last video of the ign monthly on this game they'll probably announce a release date
in all honesty im getting the same vibe i got from seeing destiny for the first time, i really dont wanna get disappointed, cos this sounds too good to be true, its everything i ever wanted in a sandbox space game...pls pls pls i pray to the gaming gods, do not forsake ,me
The difference between this and destiny is this is indie so it should be exactly how it looks and not forced into something else by some big company
atomic jacob I wouldnt expect to much from this game, other than exploration collecting and space battles etc are more of a side objective to exploration
taylor asmah indie > AAA studios in many scenarios. Indie dev studios have a lot to lose, but as you can see...EA (DICE) and Bungie are doing just fine with their flops.
Trust me its not impossible. Chech out space engine. That's where this game got its ideas from.
taylor asmah well that's a d@mn shame because it looks like $h!#
Imagine if Destiny was an open universe like this, with the Star Wars battlefront graphics and in every habitable planet theres people/npc which gives you quest or informations, and you can do whatever you want like GTA V.
So a star wars sky rim
That's why I originally got destiny, but was disappointed. THIS is what I've always wanted.
+SnippyblueTwitch so true
And what you "donated" for is... Ships that you cant even use! Will you deny to me that most ships have to be bought with real money, AND that they are useless?
Pissed that i know day 1 severs are gonna blow up. theres just no way they arent.
This isn't an MMO, with the size of the game and the fact that everyone holds a lobby that can hold 4 people at most.
Alex Wayne it is
benster358 It has a multiplayer element, but it has an offline mode.
supersayian300089 I'm aware of this
How are 4 people gonna find each other?
This is amazing, i didn't expect to see something like this in a game within my lifetime. Mathematics seems limitless in its function.
Hello from 2019, dead comment section...
Hi
Hello
🙋🏼♂️
Hello
Sup
Gotta love those planet sized planets
Quantum physics seems to suggest that this is how we create our universe too: By looking at it.
They need to add the ability to actually build like just taking wood and stone and build a house and I would also love to see rovers that you can build and drive
Build space stations! Hopefully eventually, maybe in a expansion, sequel, or some other game with giant universes
agreed
+Amit cohen (DaDerpyFrag) i think that for the building aspect, someones been playing a little too much mine craft.
+Amit cohen (DaDerpyFrag) since stuff is generated on the spot and not saved (because that would take an insane, if not impossible to fund amount of storage and I/O) this is impossible to do on a persistent basis. sadly. :)
Sir Delta maybe the ability to build a mount so you can ride on the creatures to explore more
When I first started gaming I always dreamed of a game of this scale.
Its £19.99 right now but if you wait for a steam sale it sometimes comes down to £9.99
finlx I've seen gameplay of that game and I would play it but I don't have a gaming PC so I can't
Rix IV Ah okay
😠😠😠😠😠😠
Okay this is all nice, but may I have a release date?
Yeah, that's what I'm waiting for very impatiently I might add lol. I'm seeing more and more videos of no man's sky with this guy in it, so it's got to be some type of close, right?
Dude, it's this year.
Bill Gates same. Ive seen all the videos explaining this, and showing footage. Now i want to play the game.
Ryan Kevin Pahl nope they only say that they will reveal the release date "soon" (which is better than previous "we have no release date")
This game needs an mmo mode where you can join groups and start wars. That would be cool wouldn't it.
Yeah
+magliadoro no it doesn't. it has factions and pirates that fight but its all ai not multiplayer in the sense that you are playing with others.
+Dawson Depetris Isn't that what EVE Online is for?
+Lucas Franco it isn't single player, but everyone is all in the same universe. There are 18 billion multiplied by another billion planets, so it will be extremely hard to find someone. If you do, it will be amazing.
HarryPuffer TP i will definitely give it a try on steam if it has a co-op or at least a invite a friend to explore setting, something like that.
Pop in and Draw Distance really need to be addressed. The game is absolutely beautiful, but I want to be able to see more of it at once.
Wait until it's done, all of you.
tell me lies tell me sweet little lies !
my.mixtape.moe/vxhnde.webm
The holy trinity of game devs is now complete. Lmao
who's the one on the left?
No part of this is in any way false.
Have you played the game!? I guess not!
What's not false? The posts in this comment thread or the video?
If you're saying the video is in no way false:
www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4y4i3a/wheres_the_nms_we_were_sold_on_front_page/
this is amazing! imagine yourself wondering around the space and at the same time looking at the beautiful universe
This game is a perfect testament to how cool math can be.
This guy loves to say 'Maths'.
Andrew Logue it's because only us Americans call it math.
Gnarwaster 1 haha true!!
Europeans and their weird pronunciation of math!
Eddie Marshall I have an A+ in Meth
Eddie Marshall I think it's weird the U.S.A appropriated 'math'. As a subject, you do 'sums', you use 'numbers', 'equations', etc. Why say math? It done make no sense. 'Math' needs multiples of anything to work, hence 'maths'. Just my 2p.
It looks like Spore. any one remember Spore? it was kinda fun. This looks like fun too.
Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. Reminds me of the space era part.
Indeed. Very similar except you're first person in this.
yeah I'll wait for nevt years steam summer sale to pick it up though. looks great though
+leoric21 Yeah, it looks exactly like Spore, Spore also looked awesome on the trailers and then when it was released it dissapointed a lot of people. Same is going to happen to this game probably.
spore failed because it had too many game modes, not because of its randomly generated galaxies. This looks like it could actually work.
The HUD looks better than the actual version
Replace "The HUD" with "Everything"
Matías Pierdoménico Have you played the game?
LlamaWithAFringe I've seen hours of footage.
Matías Pierdoménico Go play it, then judge it
LlamaWithAFringe I don't need to play it to know how it looks. Read the comment again.
Well, for everyone from 5 years ago.. Yes they messed it up, but they brought it back ❤️
And now we're on 3.0
It's almost 2022, and no new game is interesting. Yet this vast universe game has intrigued me.
orbiting around the sun shouldnt create the transition from day to night. it should be because your planets are rotating on their axis
+Paolo Joseph Lobitaña lol
he said it switches from day to night because you can't have da and night if you're not orbiting around a sun.
+McDoogle rogue planets are entirely possible
i have never seen someone lie so much. its not a Infinite Universe .. your in a box that spawns new worlds inside it from what you pick on the bigger map.. you cant fly to stars, its all a trick and when you know the trick is really takes away from the game.
it isnt literally infinite but it is the size he says. whether you can fly to the star system or not it is still there
It's not the size he says, not at all.
No wonder the file size of this game is small.
1:12 if you pause it you can see a red star, WHAT COULD IT MEAN? also they can't make a sequel. they will release a 30 GB update to double the content including the universe
+Tom “MonkeyStick01” Brown They won't make a sequel. It's not that type of game. Yes there are different star types.
WHO ARE YOU?
Tom Brown A lot of things but overall a No Man's Sky enthusiast.
Lord Sir Crumpet OK SAME HERE.
Damn, good eye
It's math guys!
bkk 555 and exactly as empty!
They should create cities in this game
Hopefully on PC the render distance is further so i wont notice the render of objects as much!
It's like Starbound fps in much, much evoluated. Looks definitely awesome :)
+PoisonStrat so much evoluated
+kcuf0 so much, much evoluated, even
+PoisonStrat wtf is that word
+Melodic Meerkat evolved + evaluated gone wrong [GONE SEXUAL]
+PoisonStrat It's what starbound should have been
so when will the adults get to play it on PC?
+josef williams june
+josef williams Both the PS4 and PC version are being released simultaneously in June
cool
ty bx
something a bernie supporter would say
:/
You wanna know what's really cool about this game? When this is released, the people who made it don't know what's going to come out of their creation. Think of that for a second. They've been working on this game for years, and they don't know what it'll look like. That's just incredible.
god i cant wait to get my hands on this game
lol they made a joke
Well that couldn't have gone much worse.
I know totally not your fault everyone believed the lies
@@dawson5008 It is a gem now. Honestly GPU and CPUs weren't powerful enough to make what we actually wanted at the time. 2022 NMS on all ultra settings is just insane!!
Imagine you get stuck on a planet and your friend leaves you behind. Few years of exploration until the find each other.
I'm interested as to whether the game will remember any terrain deformation that players have made on planets
Apparently if there's significant changes in terrain it'll stay there when you go back
Beasty
+Haebris All local content and files are saved. But they have access to the whole server and files. Because its all online, but if you just kill a bird, that bird will be back. If you take the time, probably 5 days in game time killing a whole species that species on that planet will be dead forever. But most of all the planets are to scale with planets in real life. Sooooo
+DancingDylan0 Soooo, blow up the entire planet!! HAHAHAHA
It's a pitty that the moons and other planets are so close to each other. Makes it less realistic. But yeah, it's science fiction.
They made it like that for the aesthetic it's explained in another video
Tim van der Kooij kerbal is science fiction and they still do it pretty good..
There are actually planets found in our universe that orbit other planets like a moon
Well if the distances between planets were realistic you'd spend more time flying to planets than actually exploring them
Tim van der Kooij They explain that in another video, why that is, there was debate over it. They chose to go with closer planets for aesthetics, however he has said that there are other stars where they are realistically spaced, but they aren't as common.
Man, the hard Thing about this is, that it would even be the biggest Openwold game if you only generatet 1 whole planet xD
The only game to buy because it will never end
I really hope that they allow for building and colonizing at some point in this game. Even if it ends up being DLC later down the road.
+GreenTunic No DLC but free updates are confirmed.
That would turn this legendary game into the legendariest game
they said you can colonize planets.
He creates an almost infinite universe and is able to read it as maths.. He's Neo!
Sean has such a lovely manner about himself. He just seems like an awesome and fascinating person.
3 qecs:
if i shot the ground, and lets say i make a tunnel. if i ever get back to that planet(or if another player will get there) will the tunnel still be there?
does every planet has different night and day cycle?
can you actually go to those moons?
***** yes you can go to the moons
***** Ans: 1: Yes it will.
2: I don't know
3: Yes, but it will probably be barren.
Lets say you destroy a big mountain, that mountain will be destroyed for every other player in the universe
Yes yes and yes
They said only major things will be saved like if you destroy a landing dock or trade station.. not if you shoot a hole through a rock
3:55
I'm suddenly questioning whether I actually want to play this game.
@Michael Stewart They've mentioned that interactions you've made to various planets are stored for your viewing, but visitors will not be able to view any real carnage you've done to the planet. They can only see what you've named, and all this information is stored on the cloud so no hard space needed.
7:57 (to the left)
That's no moon.
+Jaykh2o Thats a space station
I straight-up know I'm gonna forget where I parked my ship on some desolate planet. Robinson Crusoe with a laser gun.
lol same.........
+Tiger H. Lore happens to me in a parking lot.. now an entire planet :l fml
+Tiger H. Lore Yeah, lol - hopefully you have a GPS device in your HUD...?
Jim Loftus there will be something on ur hud pointing towards ur ship on the top compass thing
2:40 i love how modern game design is mimicking some of the ancient philosophical theories on reality itself.
For example the concept that, reality literally exists when you as a concious being is observing it. When you leave, it ceases to exist. Just awesome how such ancient concepts are manifested today in modern game design just as a proccess of problem-solving how to create huge content without needing to save it on disk..
omg this game never ends
Will there be some sort of fast travel or map markers? I can imagine getting horribly lost and not finding that one planet I love again xD
I think it will have coordinates.
They will have beacons/ waypoints for your favorite areas.
As a gamer, this is so impressive. It just goes to show what math can do to a video game. Just think about how much more we could do in the future…
If it's true that the planets are generated the same way you left them, I'm going to become a sort of Death Star and destroy as many planets as possible. So when and if people find the planet they'll be like wtf happened to the structure of the planet. I'll leave my mark and continue destroying!!!!
Yeah it would be awesome if you could be a bounty hunter or villain of sorts
+omari sifontes your able to join the pirate faction if that counts
that would be spectacular, but I think it doesn't works like that :(
It is fueled by the power of false promises and the tears of jaguars.
lmao, this comment doesn't age well
This raises the bar for open world games, more of open universe, I love the simplicity and goals of the game. Can't wait to play
No Man's Buy.
Just stay away from ea or activision!
preach it
I think they will
You forgot Ubisoft.
they have sony
naughty dog
This game is for people who are creative and can do very much with very little. We don't NEED a storyline or combat intensive gameplay to love the hell out of a game. I've been waiting for a game like this for such a long time, I never thought it would come. Everything about this game gets me excited. This is best suited to my play style because this game doesn't hold your hand. It just lets you be you and play how you want. That's exactly what I like. I love the optimism of Sean and the team. I trust them to deliver. I've never anticipated a game this much.
Cool, now we know how it works. Now. Tell us what we want. The RELEASE DATE!! :D plz
Lmao the disappointment
Sometimes I find it strange how every time they visit a "random" planet (I'm not talking about this video in particular), but there is always water, vegetation and various forms of life, the way to find life in the No Man's Sky universe is very common. I hope this game really surprise us as the first time it was announced.
These constants videos are getting boring, we want the release date!
Everton Felix It's because Sean Murray amped up the life rate for planets in the demos, so it's unlikely for someone to find a barren planet in the demos.
Sean has said that in the main version of the game, only 10% of planets have complex life. I don't know whether that includes flora though.
Well I didn't know this and this is better.
Everton Felix i would also like to point out the every video besides the 5 planets video has been in the same solar system and mostly on the saem planet
ChaoticRift You're everywhere.
I like how in no man's sky you can see through the water, in some games, there's just blues water, then when you go under its different
imagine Warframe merged into this universe
This guy is a genius
i have done almost everything in no mans sky except explore each and every planet. i hope all the best for NMS 2. revolving and rotating planets and moons would be tremendous. just need a faster pulse drive.
Revolving and rotating planets were removed because players found them disorienting
Can't wait to play this on my pc max graphic level with GTX 980TI
Careful don't spill your Mountain Dew on it
Dude same. 970 with i5 and 16gb of ram along with a 144 hz monitor. It's gonna be siiiiiick!!!!
+MrBaconman29 I'm getting that same PC build
***** make sure you don't spill your saltiness on your peasantstation
MrBaconman29 what's a 970?
I just ate a bowl of oatmeal.
How was it?
+TechLikeABoss Pretty good. Mixed in some apple honey.
Oatmeal accelerates aids
I don't think I've found something anymore random than this entire conversation, oh my lord!
congratulations.
You could set chunks of this guys dialog to music and then show real planets and stars and have a compelling description of how the universe may actually work. "It's all in the math, generated at the micro and macro level." So trippy.
This game makes me love my decision of getting a PS4 instead of an Xbox One.
Schleep it’s on the xbox 1
I learned my lesson with Spore lol, day one NO BUY!
I don't want us to die wondering what could have been, Sean, please for us, MAKE THIS GAME GREAT!
Only problem this game needs to avoid is that they could have an infinite universe that is infinitely boring.
I wanna see planets with cities and civilisations which you can blow up from your ship, not just planets filled with alien creatures
my thoughts as well. exploring empty practically lifeless environments will get old real fast.
Young Dirtbag Yeah, to be honest, for me, that factor will be the make it or break it element.
Sean is my hero
Sean Murray seems honest. And this is the exact kind of game that most or some of us have been craving for quite some time. I am looking foward to No Mans Sky. Thank you Sean for creating and awesome and Gigantic universe.
Will there be any civilized planets?
+Dream Big Studios ...that we can nuke from orbital?
Please???
Alahu ackbar!
On a recent video that I saw he, Murray, said "no" but not in a direct manner. Basically, no.
+Angel Hernandez Actually, there are NPCs and buildings on some planets, Sean said there will be no Npcs, but they added em
+Lord Voldemor Sorry... I interpreted it as planets as "civilized" as Earth, with big cities, towns, skyscrapers.
Please give me THIS game and not the other crappy one you sold me
Man I had a hard time with related rates in calculus, let alone the math he is using to program this. Absolutely mind blowing.
