I had a 1984 GTV6 with factory air con back in the late Eighties. It had the later style mock Recaro interior and dashboard that had been introduced for the LHD market some time before but didn’t come to the U.K. until the slightly facelifted cars with grey painted lower side panels arrived in the U.K. in ‘84. The U.K. importers had, from ‘82-‘84, converted the RHD cars’ dashboard from the original strange, and hated by the motoring press, central-dialled version to the “cobbled together” version to keep the car competitive until the later-style dashboard was phased in for ‘84. I should never have sold it although, in my defence, I did replace it with a 164 3.0 (which at least had the same magnificent Busso V6 engine!). That Busso V6 engine has got to be the best sounding engine ever!
Really? I would rev mine to 6k, after warming up at idle. ...in neutral, and clutch engaged. Neighbors didn't appreciate doing it in gear, as I drove away. ;)

Es una pasada el follón que hace el alfa romeo cuesta arriba . Que recuerdos más fuertes me ha traído este video de cuando era un chiquillo e iba con mi padre a toda máquina subiendo para sierra nevada en el gtv q tenía a comprar un show board y yo iba casi llorando jaja muy fuerte bueno un beso 💋 .

That is an amazing sound. I've been listening to this on repeat. I just installed a Magnaflow front section (downpipes and catalytic converter) between the original manifolds and original center muffler section on my GTV6. I saw you got a straight-through center section for yours, I might have to try that next.
I remember those days, three tries to get it into first gear, slow shifts with the sloppy linkage and tired synchros, no limited slip inside tire spinning in slow corners, understeer until snap oversteer, suspension soft as a pillow, lol
La verdad es que me quedo con ganas de más, es como si fueras un director de orquesta y estuvieras dirigiendo una sinfonía, es pura música el sonido y las tonalidades del motor busso.
Toda la vida leyendo en las revistas q el V6 2.5 del GTV sonaba a gloria y por fin entiendo de verdad lo q es, mil gracias por el vídeo. Sería fantástico q hicieras algún otro más largo para q los alfistas q solo pudimos disfrutar alfas clasicos con motor boxer pudiéramos morir tranquilos

It's a drag, when 2nd gear synchro is shot, and you're driving a year of gtv-6 with the "tall" rear end. I had my '82 Balocco's switched to a '81, when transmission synchros were done.

Efectivamente, es delicioso observar a un conductor manejar el cambio y el doble embrague de esta manera. Estamos hartos de ver a gente en UA-cam conduciendo fatal, sin dejar tiempo a los cambios ni cuidar la transmisión. El manejo del volante impecable igualmente, que ese es otro de los grandes pecados de tanto aficionado al motor que no sabe conducir

Thanks🍀 . I dont know what do you mean exactly , in which way did you find it imprecise ? Around the center it is a little vague ,of course ,it's a 40 year old steering, but once it is loaded its all you could ask for ,so much feedback ..
@ maybe not precise,i would say direct steering wheel, cause you're turning a lot for this corners, maybe cause it's older car 🙂, nevermind, great car and sound

@@lebronnaumoskinn ah! Yes you are right , standard steering is 3.5 turns lock to lock , It is not very direct but i think It was needed in order not to make steering too heavy. Hope that answers your question .Cheers🍀
@ Yes great sound! Did you consider stainless steel manifolds & downpipes from EB Spares too? Or was it that you were recommended to leave the existing, as this gives a better sound? I'm trying to work out the best set up to enhance the sound for my GTV6, I have been recommended to upgrade manifolds, downpipes to stainless steel and straight through middle in stainless steel, but leave the original back muffler.

@@robbrosolo5065 Might give it a try someday , but at the moment I am very pleased with the sound...not too loud not too quiet , and overall beatiful and classy busso sound , if you need more ,stainless headers and straight through downpipes would work very well, but not for me , sometimes I use the car for long roadtrips and it gets kind of annoying cruising at 3000rpm for several hours...
does it still have the cat and muffler? link to any?

Yes , no cats in the european model though, only resonators on the front section/ downpipes (those and headers are stock) ,straight trough inox middle section and inox muffler from Ebspares 👌🍀
