I love how dramatic it sounds as it winds up and the smooth clatter you here as the rpm’s drop. There’s no greater feeling in the world than driving a beautifully sounding car on a back road like this. Forget that these aren’t the fastest things ever built, that’s not the point.
I'm on my 4th. Favorite car of the over 40 I've owned. To 501st Egg, none of my GTV6s ever broke down. Of the 13 classic Alfas I've owned, several of which were daily drivers, only once have I ever not got home, in 1989 in an '83 Spider, when a $10 Bosch L-Jetronic sensor failed...the irony, a German component ;). Analog Alfas are dead reliable if maintained properly.
I had a GTV6 back in 83-94. It was without a doubt the best time I've ever had with a car. Not perfect, far from it. My 2015 Tesla is the most "perfect" car I've ever owned. Probably 3-4X the power of my V6 Alfa. But best has to go to my Alfa Romeo. Why? Well because of what it taught me about how to drive and what a car "Is". This "IS" a car. Temperamental, it had a rubber supported drive shaft. The transmission was in the back. The engine turned in reverse. So many things about this car taught me what machinery IS. This was the most fun I've EVER had with a car. Even the endless hours underneath it fixing it. God it was fun. And the SOUND! My friends would know when I was arriving when I was a mile and a half away. It was simply amazing. Thanks for sharing this video. It brought back so many fond memories.
Exactly. Aft mounted gearbox like gtv, alfetta ,giuletta,75 etc engaging 2nd gear need precision or it go 4th gear

Thank you, so many grated gearchanges before that heheh she wants to be double clutched properly all the time , or she will let you know how clumsy you are.. she is a good driving teacher thats for sure 🍀
Beautiful sound and full of EMOTION. To think, in the not too distant future, this will be a thing of the past with electric vehicles. I can't ever see electric creating the same feeling 😖
I've had some cars in my life, from the Smart ForTwo to the Mazda RX8. My Dad had a 33 Sport Wagon 1.3L. Even sitting there, the car was awesome. I got a 166 2L V6 turbo Quadrifoglio Verde. Sold it. Regretted it. Got another 166 2L V6 turbo. Other cars are exciting or scary or fun to drive on bends. But you are right, you can describe every Alfa Romeo with just one word: emotion
In 1996 i was driving like this near Berchtesgaden. On my left z 90° solid rock mountainwall znd on my right a deeper laying creek. In front of me were 2 sportive motorcycles driving. I shifted down to have the superb sound above the 4200 rpm and the motorcyclist looked over their shoulder because they thought that an other motorcycle came towards them, from the rear. Its sounds like a trumped orchestra. I will never do my GTV6 away. It is my favorite car with super good seat ( after 1983 seatmodel). You can drive a 1000 km in them and still step out of the car as if you only drove a short distance. It is because the legs are supported very well, under the knees.
Man, you get it (right): right steering, shifting, reving , feeling. That’s how you drive and experience Alfetta!! You got my vote (P. S. 40 years of Alfetta driving under my belt). Carry on.

Thank you so much Thomas ! I hope I get to enjoy her at least as long as you , once you drive an alfetta you love her for the rest of your life 🍀
Either you know those roads like the back of your hand.....or you're a damn good driver (possibly ex-rally?), but at times it looked like you were going at about 70mph - accelerator pedal slammed into the floor!! Really impressive driving.....and a mighty fine looking (and sounding) car. Alfas are known as 'a real driver's car'. This shows this.....and that sound. Nothing sounds like an Alpha at full throttle!
I had 3 AlfaSud at the time, and I dreamed of having the GTV ... But time has passed ... Now it's a collector's car, I'm going to have to get rich !!!!
I'm always getting emotional watching stuff like this... my god... just how heavenly this machine sings... literally like an angel singing to my ear... my heart filling up with joy and happiness while listening to this thank you so much for posting this for all of us to be blessed by this GTV6 singing while being driven as it's intended to be :') thank you, dear sir!
I really enjoyed the sound of this Alfa engine every time I saw one many years ago. But of course, you get the best sound at the back side of a car. Nice vid !
You are so lucky to have the perfect sounding car in the perfect road…I wish I had a fantastic car like! My dream is to drive a LFA down this type of roads
I still long for one more ride in my GTV6. Unfortunately I sold it many years ago. But I still remember that sweet sound and superb handling. Thanks for the memories!

You're welcome 🍀 Hope one day you can meet again with the Gtv6
I've had 5 gtv6s, 9 alfas under my belt , newest one 02 156 ts 2.0 , love it , I want to restart my collection, 1 alfa at a time !!! Fund my addiction please !! Just kidding, I am going to do it myself!!!!
¡Hola Alejandro! Tu video casi me hace llorar.

Awesome! Great Sound, camera work and driving! As a man who has had 75 GTV6's and driven them hundreds of thousands of miles all across America, I very much enjoyed this video. Bravo! Heavy Metal Alfa

Thank you! I'm glad that you liked it, strangely enough there seems to be more Gtv6 survivors in America than in Europe, also big cult for old Alfas there 🤘🍀, by the way I enjoyed your Gtv6 engine swap video too, are you still working on Alfas nowadays ?
@ Yes, everyday. I am currently building an 83 GTV6 for the original owner, starting to restore a 65 Giulia Spider, finishing a 66 Duetto that I will have for sale, a Maratona build and working on peoples drivers. I have a nice GTV6 project for sale too.
You really seem to be living my dream. I’ve dreamed of having one since I was about 12 when I saw one in a 007 film. Hopefully, I’ll be able to buy one someday after I return from China.
Best sounding V6 ever. I know that 7K rpm moment very well. I have an ‘87 Toyota MR2 with maybe the best sounding 4cylinder, the 4age and at 7K it screams and it’s just you and the car

87'? That is then an aw11 right? I LOVE that car , cheers Matthew 🍀
@ Yes it’s an AW11. Not the supercharged version the Na but the NA is technically lighter anyways by a few hundred lb’s. I love the car it’s an incredibly fun car. No power steering or ABS or any assists also
Qué cosas no?

This must be the best ever clip on the GTV6 sound! Thank you for this treat! Can't wait to drive mine soon. What materials did you use for the recording?

Ciao Gianfranco , Thank you , I did use my mobile phone and a external Mic for the sound
It's not just the best sounding car ever, it's the best sound ever...

@@matthewgallant3622its one of the best, because LFA is far ahead
One of the best cars ever build. I had 4 of these. Fantastic.
Did they all break down? But still amazing cars with out a doubt

The narrated opening was excellent, it spoke to the Alfa Spirit. 7K rpm is indeed a spiritual place to get to,, .
You won'y get to it in a Busso V6 though! Not without major internal mods. 6300 tops unless it has CB cams, then it's lumpy as fuck at idle!
12v will not rev to 7000 in Stock form
24v will do 6800-7200

That Busso sounds Amazing 🔥🔥🔥
