The truth is the perfect sail comes along every so often and you have to be really lucky with the wind, sea state and weather! When all things combine it is like nothing else, it is like liquid freedom! It is EXHILARATING!
And the pod of whales coming right up to the boat, only metres away to say hello were just a bonus!

A nice sail, but you made a major navigational error ... you turned south out of Lake Macquarie when you should have turned north. Even the whales tried to show you the right way🐳🐳. It's bikini weather here in Noosa and Hammo started yesterday ...Get yourself a copy of Alan Lucas 'Cruising the Coral Coast' and a 'Beacon to Beacon' ... you were about 3-4 days away from paradise but somehow ended up in Sydney. 🤓⛵
Ha ha yes alas it was the wrong way! We'll eventually go North again and cannot wait!
Do you have any running backstays on that rig?
Yes they were stainless wire with a double Le block purchase going to the smaller of the two winches in each side of cockpit but we converted them to Dyneema without a double block (just straight to the winch or clear) a few years ago which has been great and we don’t bang the metal blocks onto the pilot house anymore.
