I think it was mostly because in 1942 the planes did a loop when performing the trick. But with Jets you didn’t need to do the loop you could just let them fly and they wouldn’t stall out for awhile.
Zookaman was apparently the original. Loopzook, loop came from how the plane reacted and zook either from his name or well, the bazooka used. Rendezook, comes from Stun_Gravy in BF3. Rende being short for rendezvous.
That's what it is xD, just a Rendezook. The reason it's called it is because of you Rendezvousing with your Jet/Plane after killing the other Jet/Plane with an RPG/Rocket. Hence Rendezook.
Its kinda telling that the plane in BF1942 was the only one that actually maintains its inertia and lift instead of just becoming a floating object the moment you exit the plane.

I’ve seen, briefly, that someone is claiming “ownership” of this trick and it looks like it’s due to it being performed in either BF3 or 4 and obviously this was done by many of us much earlier than that.
I literally threw my phone away when I saw the battlefield 5 clip. Didn’t think that was possible I thought you automatically spawn as a pilot with a smg, torch and mines.

You try this in BF2042 nowadays 1 of two things happen. 1. They shoot a missile at you with an instant lock on and you explode and die before you even get the chance to take your rocket out. 2. You kill them, and then your own jet roadkills you because it gently pressed against you while you were trying to get back in.
Yeah, I think the BFV one looks much cooler because of the cockpit exit animation, and because you got to watch the plane stall out before he got back in.
Something I've noticed is that a lot of people are suddenly noticing and knowing what the Rendezook! is, and I've seen some commenters also questioning it. A theory I have is that the new BF2042 trailer has reignited some of the old battlefield community with the feature of the Rendezook. It's even a possibility that some people had never knew the name until the trailer came out. Even still, it's cool to see the community and Dice as a whole appreciate Battlefield's history, even if BF2042 is bad
Rendezook was never the same after BF4. All the rest of the games had you switching seats or just climbing out. But that 2042 trailer.... That gave me hope
I used to fly a lot in BF4, and the amount of times people try to 'zook you is ridiculous. 1 out of 30 times they'll actually hit, and they almost never get their jet back. Sometimes you get a free road-kill, too.
