Shockwave Antenna replacing a Maco V5000, installed 85' up on a tower. Maco V5000 vs. Shockwave performance review to follow. Like, comment and subscribe
I have a Crossbow .64 that I would like to put up someday but after watching this video I think it’s a heat attack waiting to happen. Congratulations on the new antenna install. I hope it’s working as well as expected for the radio man. 🇨🇦
Someone mentioned water filling up the Tower legs ? I don't know if you capped off the top of the Tower legs or not, but they have a point, over time if there are no exit holes, (aka Weep holes ), Water will build up ! Typically, water seeks its own level. The biggest concern, might be the water table, and whether you have good run off, and when placing the Tower Base section, if you provided good drainage of the Tower legs themselves ! And if you live where the temps hit freezing ? As the water will climb up the Tower legs and as it freezes, it will split the legs ! Don't ask how I know ! Lol....the best laid plans thing ! Weep holes are easily plugged by insects, cobwebs, etc. ! So you need to keep an eye on those rascals too ! If you don't know by now, it can be a real pain maintaining a Tower like that, as Guy wires also need babysat ! Hope I'm not preaching to the choir ! If I am, forgive me, but I know what a job installing Towers is ! Mine is also up 85 feet to the top ! Too, something you don't think about when you're young, is those years go by quick, and maintaining this, won't get any easier, as the years pile on ! I started putting up Towers for people, when I was but 15 ! Now 68 and wonder where those years went ! As I have no idea how old this posting is, looking at your land scape, and surrounding trees, I wonder how many times you've been struck by lightning ? Kinda comes with the territory ! Hope this wasn't to late ! Good DX !
great install the shockwaves work well and a lot stronger than the Maco v58. Whare in the country, are you? I am in northeast corner I'll give you a shout if I hear you, I talk on Ch 28. have a good day.
CB Skip Clips 1 second ago So far, the performance is about the same as the Maco V5000. But antenna is built a lot better will stand up to wind etc. North Carolina, the antenna and tower belong to 095 or crazy crazy in the Carolinas . lol

What is the tower height? Great job!
85 Feet. Thank you!
I would have to take a walkie talkie up there for a test run💗
too risky up there!!!! nice job!
Curious as to why you didnt tighten the 2 jam nuts on the mounting bolts?
Please update performance review. I have a guess as to the difference but I'll wait to see what you say about it. Cheers.
