i got one of these maybe 6 months ago. the neck is incredibly comfortable to play - in the future bass utopia all necks will have rolled edges. the instrument sounds fantastic in either passive or active mode. while there's no tone control in passive mode (only volume and pickup balance) it's easy to get a variety of sounds. it's well worth the premium over the regular player line which i'd spent a couple months with before. i've got mine strung with a set of d'addario halfrounds. this colour is beautiful in person as well.
I've bought several guitars and basses from L&M (as recently as last week), and that includes 2 Jazz basses, and I love them all. I wish I had your skill so I could work in your stores, lol. Thanks for the upload!
Nice demo....I played one of these today. The 3 band EQ is pretty clunky and poorly designed. I don't dig the one stacked knob. The toggle switch to turn off the active circuit seems kinda useless......If you want a passive just get the Player. It was nice though a good value.
These "Noiseless" Pickups are kinda noisey, from what i have experienced... if u turn up the treble it gets even worse, so if i dont touch metal on my bass its fucking crazy... (there no grounding issues etc. the bass got tested) there no hum, but its buzzing, if u know what i mean.. i got a pj player plus..
The original P Bass didn't, but most of the P Basses in the world today do. It's a split-coil pickup and one of the coils is reverse wound which makes it hum-canceling.
I got the aged candy apple red one. My 5th Jazz bass and sounds every bit as good as my 2012 American Deluxe active Jazz. Good stuff, thanks!

This is the best video I've seen showcasing the range of sounds that the player plus jazz can get; thanks a lot
Just bought one today to add to my collection
Dan is my favourite at demoing basses

Very nice review, does the Bass also work without batteries?
Yes, it has an active/passive mini toggle switch.
Hello! Do you know if the Player Plus neck fits a "normal" Fender body? Thanks!
bought 1 but the passive side doesn’t work…

This jazz bass Fender, is american or mexican?
Mexican made.
It’s made by Mexican workers in Mexico vs Mexican workers in California…in other words no difference except price✌️
P basses don’t have humbucker pickups

Nowadays, P basses use a humbucker. Even the lower end Squier models.
Best bass must have a rosewood fingerboard!
