thank you. It is always encouraging to get positive feedback. It is a lot of work to make a video, so it can be hard to find the time. Next I will probably make a video about hermit crabs.
yeah, i had always noticed their footprints at Miantianping (near Erziping) so i set up the camera there. Hopefully I can get some other interesting creatures/behavior in the coming year.
What a long snout that boar has. I caught a fleeting glimpse of a wild boar in Japan, and thought I had similarly seen a baby one in Taitung County, but it may well have been a muntjac deer I guess. I'm surprised and pleased at the level of diversity your camera captured in Yangmingshan.
Yeah, those pigs are always hanging around the ponds at erziping/miantianping in the forest. I glimpsed one there a couple of years ago. It is quite cool to see all the things camera traps pick up. The Mongeese were in Kending though.
Thank you. I haven't made many videos so far this year, but I just finished one. I will upload on Friday. Ill try to keep them a little more regular from now on. I have a lot of material to work with.
thanks. It doesn't have a brand. Just a basic camera trap from Taobao (Chinese online shopping platform). Just called "Digital Trail Camera". it works well though. The camera even films in 4k. This video was shot in 1080p, but i will try out 4k in the coming year.
yes, I got that in Kending. I will try to get more footage of them, preferably catching crabs and/or some other cool behavior. I actually filmed one eating a crab, but it is only just visible in the corner of the frame.
@@wildlifejames during the time you work with bbc? South and East of Taiwan seems more able to find rare mammals, hope I can see them on the trail one day
@@shaway9843 yeah, i set the camera up near one of our filming sites. Unfortunately I was too busy to think about it until near the end, so I only had it set up 3 days. i could have set it up for 2 weeks. Those mongeese came past at least once every 24 hours. I could have captured a lot. Oh well, ill keep setting it up in different areas. I have seen them out on the trail a couple of times, but only in pingtung and taidong. They are very shy
Malayan Night Heron
Nycticorax nycticorax
Your videos are my favorites, and make me love nature more. Thanks for your videos.

This is crazy! Didn’t know there are wild boars right in yanmingshan, great video!

love your video
Thanks. I need to set my camera trap up again.

Yes, I need to get that camera out again. I keep forgetting to take it with me lol

TingTing is asking why dont you make a 烤猪
Laobiao! haha. Maybe if she catches one.
Cool footage
Thanks. That was the first attempt. I need to get it back out into the field.
