This might be the best 28 minutes of insight into a New Orleans sports team I’ve heard. It was unfiltered, and I hope you don’t get any blowback. I suspected some of it, but not a lot of it. A lot of surprises. I’ll probably listen to this again down the line. The prejudice against certain players was something I had a suspicion of. The only thing I didn’t know if Willie or the organization was playing favorites or if their was something deeper behind them singling out certain guys. After years of witnessing it with the same players, while different players leapfrog them despite less talent, I was certainly leaning toward something more than a the simple explanation of playing favorites. Your fans will follow whatever you do in sports so even if you do get blowback you still got a base to continue to build on.

This sounds like a bunch of conspiracy theories. It is puzzling that BI’s 3FG attempts have dropped since his MIP/All Star season. He’s proven that he can be a good 3-point shooter. And Lu Dort isn’t the first physical defender to cause BI problems, but I don’t’ believe BI was completely healthy in the series. This past year has been humbling for BI. The Team USA experience and his numbers were down this season. With Trey Murphy in NOLA and rookie extension eligible, BI is expendable (a year before he hits UFA) but I don’t think he is done as a player. That kind of needs to be the story if teams are willing to deal for him. I think the Pels need a point/combo guard more explosive than CJ. Someone who can make more of a difference late in games.
