      Interesting
My country- India was still under British rule, so life would be hard from my perspective
In Britain or USA, I would have it easy, if not for my race.

A terrifically entertaining decade. But what's _really_ interesting is to consider what society & culture were like, 20 years before (@ the turn of the century) - and how they changed on the way to the 1920s. That generational journey makes an epic tale, for the cultural anthropologist in all of us!

Excessive consumerism, the cell phone is the modern-day radio, massive record-breaking margin debt in the stock market, housing at all time highs, cars at all time highs AND we even have a modern-day "Model T" with Tesla! If anyone thinks WE CAN'T experience another depression, they're not paying attention to great videos like this one!

"Everyone had a great time." Nowhere near true. Look into these: Tulsa Race Riot (Massacre), Ocoee Massacre, Rosewood Massacre, Perry Race Riot. These are just a few of the tragedies that plagued the 20s and were forgotten by history books.

Good point. Back when I made this, I was speaking to the curriculum of my 9th grade world history class, as this was my final project, so I guess it’s more of a reflection of how that class focused on that period of time. Nevertheless, I should not have made such a blanket statement like “Everyone had a great time.” Thanks for calling me out.

Thanks for understanding and being respectful. UA-cam comments can lack these characteristics sometimes haha.
I definitely recommend checking out Fredric Jameson's Postmodernism: or the Cultural Logic of Late Capitalism. It's very interesting and explores our ever expanding view on history and how it's shaped by culture and ideology.
Sometimes, our educational system can be very one sided. It's up to us to show that the idea of history is very subjective, and the only way to get close to some form of truth is by looking at history from multiple POVs.

@Rick James so you purposefully ignore the truth about masseceres that took place and then say we're perpetuating victomhood? typical racist logic.

It was the Thompson 45 caliber machine gun, used by gangsters, that put the R-O-A-R in the roaring 20's.

I’m using it to teach a class in the Great Gatsby by the way! Great work. 👏🏻
