As a 70 year old Texas cowboy, I only recently discovered Band Maid. They're a GREAT band, creative, exceptionally talented. They're also charismatic, charming, outgoing, personable. They seem to truly care about each other, not only musically, but as friends. I admire their character, sincerity, humility, as much as their amazing musical capability. They're one of the truly super bands performing in the world, today. I would pay most anything to watch them perform in live concert. Thanks so much for this and other videos. Blessings and peace from rural North Texas.
Totally agree brother! They're super and need better coverage! All we hear about coming out of Asia in the mainstream media are those Korean boy bands. Band-Maid are the real thing! From a North Texan in his 60s!
It's painful to hear Saiki talk in this interview, her surgery did wonders. I hope they can resume touring in 2021, definitely want to see these ladies live.
I was thinking the same thing. She must have been in so much pain during those live performances before it. Listening to her today is a completely different Saiki.
I told my wife we needed to go see them if they're ever in our area. She insists it's just because of their costumes. I wouldn't care if they wore sweat pants and baggy t-shirts. I'd still go see them. It's about the MUSIC. That said, I do like the costumes. ;)
So bandmaid is kawai rock and the fans goes to pigeon hole while babymetal is kawaimetal and goes to fox hole are there kawaijazz kawai hip hop etc in japan? and how many holes is there? 😁
Something I like about them that they push/carry at least some of their gear from the van 00:30 into the venue themselves. Look at Saiki pushing that big cart with no complaint! It probably weighs more than she does. That's cool. It shows commitment and a lack of rock star snobbery. I really respect that.
You do know they have a road crew now. That was three years ago. I remember watching their very early show where they were moving their own equipment on stage I think in France. Not sure and maybe a hundred people there. NOW big shows with full road crew.
In the London comic con video posted, you can see almost 10 minutes of them setting up their own stage. And that was only in 2016. I love that’s they are working class committed to rock.
To be honest, i have had suitcases that weigh more then she does. She might be 40k soaking wet with boots on. Just saying that she and rest of the ladies are pretty tiny. Misa is what 5'7 and about 50k or so? She is the tallest. Miku is just over 5 feet tall. This is why Misa doesnt wear shoes, or one of the reasons anyway.
Who would have thought that Japanese girls were going to save RnR - thank god we have Band Maid and Baby Metal. Love the behind the scenes footage of them being just themselves.
There's also Aldious, Mary's Blood, Bridear and Lovebites. Band-Maid is still my favorite. There's just something about these ladies that tugs at heart.
It's amazing what Miku Kobato did....she had a concept for a band...when to her music management team and convinced them that her idea was good,,,,,having won them over she recruited Kanami through the Internet and from there each other member were recruited through personal connections....starting as a 4 person band the group realized that Miku's voice was not ideal for the music they wanted to play...so Miku he's back to her management and they suggest a young singer Saiki.....Miku's intelligence tells her to not tell Saiki about the Maid outfits and gets Saiki to agree to join the band.....and at their last practice before a show reveals the maid outfit....lol.......what an amazing driving force for this band

This isn't rocket science. Band-Maid is a genuine hard rock band that writes, produces, arranges and performs their own music. You take a drummer who ranks with the best ever, a bass player who is probably the very best bassist working today. A lead guitarist who is better than good and two vocalists who can really sing and this is what you get. The best hard rock band on the planet today. They need exposure on American TV and a summer festival tour across the states. And they will be legend. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.

She had vocal cord surgery in june or july 2017. I believe the recent live performance recordings bear out that she recovered very quickly without complications.
Yeah, according to her twitter back then, she left a practice with her through feeling odd and went to a doctor. They did an examination and found polyps on her vocal chords. They apparently did a laser treatment, and she was able to perform at an upcoming gig she had about a month or so later. These young ladies are solid and have the music experience of professional musicians, really good to see them perform on stage as it builds them for future performances as well as rounded in the music they produce.
Been jamming to them the last week, since I first heard about them on Chase Carneson's YT channel. They're badass. It's insane how they've put out an EP, or album, every year they've been active aside from this year (damn you, covid). New album drops in January, I believe. Can't wait. The growth in their instrumentals and vocals have been wild.
I must admit I was too late to explore Band-Maid. I was aware of them years ago but I guess I listened to wrong tune that I was not so impressed. Not until The Warning (which I fancy) met them at Aftershock festival and adore them, I started to listen to BM again..and I regret not to know them earlier. Now I'm a big fan though my friends mocked me, 'you listen to an old band'. But I don't care.
While the whole concept is great, and it works, the simple truth is, these girls would rock the house down if they wore jeans and T shirts, whatever. I haven't seen a collection of real talent like this, in a long time. Get ready for FIVE million!
Miku isn't just a great performer and lyricist, she is also a marketing and business genius. Kanami has a degree in Economics...which I am sure comes in handy with the business end of things. These are 5 virtuoso performers who are also very savvy about the music business. #MoeMoe #KyunKyun
Miku is so committed to the "maid" bit, calling they're shows "service" the entire interview. I wonder if the rest of the band cares as much. I feel like they don't need a gimmick. I just listen because they make good music.
They don't NEED a gimmick (because they are that good), but it does help them get recognized and sets them apart a bit from the rest of the competition. What I love is the "gap" as they call it, and how people react to them the first time they hear them. They see their cutesy maid outfits and expect one thing, but then get floored when the music hits them. I think the maid gimmick accentuates that.
I agree totally. Maybe in the beginning to get some attention it was an ok idea, but their songwriting, now? Nah, they don't need any gimmick at all. If they want to, ok, but the last reason I'm into these girls is because of what they're wearing. If they were all 500 pounds and full of wrinkles and old I'd still want to go see them play. They simply kick musical ass.
Yap, actually at first I kinda notice them from maid, but since listening to their song, I'd really love their song even though without their maid costume.
@@DS-xk6yr l don't buy it. You never hear people saying Alice Cooper should perform dressed in a normal fashion. You never hear people say that Kiss shouldn't wear makeup or Slipknot should lose the masks. And most of you don't understand what that costume really represents to Miku. It was her work uniform at a minimum wage Maid Cafés job. Besides, Misa and Saiki haven't worn anything approaching a maid's costume for quite some time. Really a nitpicking point IMO.
By the time you read this will have passed 70 Million views in total on their official channel from all their videos. Thrill is soon to top 11 Million views. Great band :)

Band-Maid is very much loved here in the USA and growing, Americans love rock n Roll and Band-Maid does a better job than the majority of our bands.
The only one that compares that is currently writing new music is Greta van Fleet and they can't hold a candle to BM in terms of musicianship.
"Thrill" is stronger than most Western rock tunes. We need more heavy metal tunes like "Thrill" and even more USA fans will follow.

I love you, I am a 66 years old man from Parker's Cove, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada. COME TO CANADA. I NEED TO SEE YOU PERFORM LIVE!!!
cool eng sub bandmaid content.
keep going
I remember the Rolling Stones lyrics "She's like a Rainbow",and it reminds me of Miku-po Kobato.
Miku's giggle at 9:03 is just adorable.
While the whole concept is great, and it works, the simple truth is, these girls would rock the house down if they wore jeans and T shirts, whatever. I haven't seen a collection of real talent like this, in a long time. Get ready for FIVE million!
なんだこの動画わ。もっとやれっ!
Miku isn't just a great performer and lyricist, she is also a marketing and business genius. Kanami has a degree in Economics...which I am sure comes in handy with the business end of things. These are 5 virtuoso performers who are also very savvy about the music business. #MoeMoe #KyunKyun
Wow, they just passed 100 million views
OMG, Akane is like just a pretty girl around there in a good way. It's totally different than when she is playing the drums!

4:00 Akane, doing back up vocal chores, in this catchy song.
Now we need a co-headlining tour with Band Maid and Babymetal together! To see that show would be awesome!
サイちゃんの手術が成功したのが本当に良かった。
凄い人達っぽ!✌️
👍Saludos desde México 🎶✌️
They will melt your heart and your ear drums at the same time...... Then clean house..... !
"What are we going to do today Saiki."
"Same thing we do every day Miku. Try to take over the world"... Ho Ho Ha HA Ha....
This video was so entertaining!
Thanks for the English subtitles.👍
BAND-MAID!! \m/
This video was posted recently, but it must be older still. Being their video real existence has 7.4 millions views lol
Which is weird being that's my least fav song of theirs lol my fav would have to be shake that or don't let me down
Band-Maid is like Slipknot the outfits grab your attention but quality of the music is what makes you a fan
World dominance they say. Im sure it Will happen soon! Such a great band plus soooo cute Girls!
Loved seeing them live in Osaka back in Rocktober 2017! 🤘🏼💀🤘🏼
These ladies need bigger stages. They are just that good. Good music music finds no boundaries. Please come to Finland :)

BandMaid is friken amazing! 🤘🤘
would go see live...family would probably look at me quite differently tho..
0:40 look! saiki in a new york dolls shirt!
Unless you have met them, it is hard to describe how tall (by Japanese standards) MISA (5'8") is and how tiny Miku (5') and Kanami (5'1") are.
By the time you read this will have passed 70 Million views in total on their official channel from all their videos. Thrill is soon to top 11 Million views. Great band :)
Band maid you need to come to Texas. Houston would love you.
