    Po is the sound a pigeon makes. Miku is a little pigeon so she makes that sound. A person who is acting like a cat would add "Nyaa" at the end.

    Po is short for the Pigeon sound of Cruppo in Japan. Here in the US, we would make that sound a "Coo." Another example, a dog would say "ruff' (US) and Won, Won (Japan). Therefore, Miku is always in Pigeon character and never misses closing her sentences with "Po!" or "Cruppo" Po!Po! Kanami totally mesmerized by the American guys talking, Po! 🦍🍌

    They have always been very good at these sort of interviews. Miku is always the lead and spokeswoman. Saiki has become more confident and seems to enjoy them more too. The aim at performing and relating to overseas audiences while not ignoring their home fans must be hard. They are not huge in Japan where really they should be. But more and more fans from overseas are joining the Maidiac fandom. After ten years let's all hope that they keep on enjoying what they do. They remain one if not the very band around.

    Hey MVJ, I hope you are having a great night. The Maids are currently on tour in Japan, but will be here in May for some dates that have been announced and possibly will be back in August for more dates that haven't been announced yet.

    NHK World's, Songs of Tokyo...sadly, the final episode. Chris Peppler is a fellow bassist and the announcer for this segment.

      They will be about 20 miles away from me at Daytona speedway part of a rock fest. But even in May it is going to be hot and humid! And I think Atlanta after that.

    If Miku ever came to the Philippines. She would be the most respectful pigeon ever. Even kids get a Po (ぽ). She'd fit in quite well. If they play there, I'm flying over for sure. That would be an amazing show. ぽ

    Very nice - a much more melodic song - so different from their normal heavy approach - so good to see their growth and willingness to change things up - as always they impress - as a Westerner , I'm curious about their personal lives ... but I'm sure they wish to remain so Japanese and so private ...

    Lol. No, "PO" is not a sign of respect in Japan. As far as I know, no one else, except Miku and her fans, uses "PO" in Japan😏

  • @marloforreal
    @marloforreal Рік тому +2

    Correct. In Tagalog (Filipino language), "po" is like "desu" in Japanese. We add it in almost every sentence, whether at the end or in the middle when speaking to someone with respect - elderly, stranger, or those of higher status.

    "Thrill" got 2 million view in 2 weeks on Facebook. That caused their agency to change plans, as the agency plan was to keep Miku and Saiki as Dance Maid without Kanami, Akane and MISA. Also they performed in Mexico after(?) Seattle.

    I heard Po was to emulate an animé character who is a cat who says meow after every sentence. Instead of meow, a pigeon says po.

    She say's Po because that's the sound a pigeon makes, and Miku Kobato is the Little Pigeon.

  • @Medley3000
    @Medley3000 Рік тому +3

    The ending "po" is absolutely unusual and that's why the interviewees are so irritated. It imitates the sound of a pigeon, which is certainly peculiar.
    It's just a quirk of Miku's and the other band members (especially Saiki) are partially embarrassed by it. But they have gotten used to it over the years.
