SPYBAITS & LIVESCOPE for big bass!!! OTTAWA RIVER

The Month of august always marks an annual trip to Deep River to target Big Smallmouth Bass gorging on bait in deep water. Normally i would choose Jerkbaits, Topwaters, swimming tubes or drop shots to convince these fish to eat. But with a tournament the day before that was dominated by Spybaits for us I decided I'd do a video showcasing how amazing these baits work when paired with livescope. Finding these wolf packs suspended or on bottom then making long casts past them to watch the whole school shoot up thirty feet to crush these slow moving baits makes for a heart stopping time with some epic fights on light tackle. Join me as I walk you through how I get more bites on this finesse technique and put big bass in the box. Enjoy!

For those without livescope. What kind of structure, conditions or areas would you suggest to try spy bait with

Rockpiles and sand humps. They school heavy on these types of structures in late fall and early summer. The key thing for us was to find the bait fish. Once we found the bait the bass were not far.

These are the ultimate bait in my opinion. Fish just couldn’t say no
