I installed this same kit on my 250 XCW and the kicker will not return. Just gets stuck in the down position. Ive installed it multiple times and still the same outcome.

@@EverySingleSunday i’m glad I have a 2018 XCW 300. I’d hate to spend all that money on a 2021 and go backwards. That means you have to carry a capacitor. I guess it’s all well and good until your fuel relay your fuel pump goes out.
@@EverySingleSunday We have a club member in Idaho Falls that went up to an enduro at Pipestone in Montana and he failed to finish the race because of a loose battery terminal on his Beta 300. If the bike had a kickstarter then he would have been in good shape.

Is it normal for the gear on the kicker shaft to have some slop? Mine moves back and forth, as well as jiggles off axis
It should be pretty solid on there and only move with the bearings

Well, it’s Impossible since there isn’t a carburetor on this model bike

@@EverySingleSunday no it gets stuck at any position. I think I got a bad spring. I ordered a new spring.
@EverySingleSunday ended up being the shaft you have to put gear, washer, and retaining ring on. Had a small crack in it.

Ya. More cost and more stuff that isn’t really needed anymore. That’s why cars don’t have a crank up front still

To save your ass if your battery dies or your starter button breaks while in the middle of nowhere

@@mxctime capacitor stays on the bike. I absolutely loved my 18 but the 20+ bikes are even better. Crazy how they progress

@@mxctime Yep.... TPI and lack of a kick start is the wrong direction for manufactures to go, IMO.
@ 2:56 you incorrectly place the "stop disk" washer before the intermediate gear is placed.
I would edit it if I could. I put 150 hours on this bike and sold it a couple years ago. Never had an issue
