That gyro and the stability system really make these birds easy to learn on. Very forgiving, and they don't cost a fortune to get started. Just a tip about helis: They generate a donut of air around the main rotor by nature, so open areas are best. When you fly close around benches, trash cans, tree trunks, (tall buildings) and interrupt that donut of air, it causes the heli to drift.. most times into the object that's causing the disturbance, so you will be fighting to correct it.
Funny you say that, because I just flew a new one in my house. Lol! These RTR Hobby Heli's are wicked! I can't say enough good things about it. I've got an affiliate link in the desc. box if you're looking to grab one. For #100 CAD, they're unreal!
You did a lot better than I would have, I would have put it into the dirt right away! LOL! Glad you had a good time with it and seemed to do really well.
Looks like you're having a great day, buddy, lovely sunshine, lots of space and a little toy to play around with, goodtimes! Yeah, I would assume those things have come a long way over the years, lots of technology in it to keep it so stable and easy to fly, very cool!
Hey Fil, that looks like a ton of fun! I tried a helicopter a couple of years back and no way could I fly it! This little beast seems to be way more controllable than the one I tried, a huge leap in technology, obviously! Noob flies RC Chopper - no problem! Great review dude! :D
I never tried RCs in the air or on the water and getting more and more curious nowadays. It seemed heli could be a decent candidate to choose. Thank you very much for exellent video!!
I was surprised how quickly I picked it up, to be honest. That was shot in one session. I even had the confidence to grab the camera and film while flying (I really need a 3rd arm!). 😅
9.5 inches from the tail to the tip you say? Oooh er!!! 😂 😅 🤣 Great review mate, and I have to commend you on how well you filmed this one buddy. 🙏 We've done quite a few flying videos ,and they are not easy to capture on video at all. This 9.5 inch chopper looks awesome man,and the giro comes as a very useful asset to beginners and experienced flyers alike. My parents bought me one of these for Christmas last year...... After at least 7 hours of solid drinking I decided that it would be a good idea to take it out for its maiden voyage in their back garden (which was surrounded by dense oak woodland) I took off like a champ, then within 30 seconds it was gone, never to be seen again! My parents were not best pleased, but I still have the box and the remote so not a total loss! 😂 Flying is great fun with these modern lightweight lipo powered planes and choppers......although wind is always a limitation. This one seemed to perform very well indeed. I would strongly recommend trying some of the lightweight trainer planes that are also available (corsair etc)they are great fun dude! That was the perfect place for flying there mate...... Just remember, there may not be any curbs to crash into up there, but trees and pilons are not your friend.... I speak from experience! 😂 😅 🤣 👍 👍 👍
G'day mate!, That's great 👌, looks really easy to fly....I'd definitely crash within 60 seconds though🥴🤣. Now you've got the flying bug😁. We're definitely not bored of your content but it was cool to see your awesome chopper in action. Great unboxing, test and review Fil👌🍻Thanks mate🤠👩🦘🇦🇺
I thought I'd crash it, 100%! But I was very surprised at how easy it was to fly! I mean, I got confident enough to grab the camera and film and fly at the same time. Haha. 😅
looks cool im thinking about trying to fly a helicopter this one or the bell both look interesting i have only flown very cheap toys that break to easy .thanks
@patrickkerns2022 I've got a video on the Bell206 coming up! Wednesday or Saturday, just finishing up the edit on it now. It was also awesome! these Heli's are so great! Only advice, get them with 2 or more batteries. 12 minute run time goes by surprisingly quick, especially when you're learning the controls.
I dabbled in helos for a while. The no gyro early electrics were beyond me. I did drones, small to large. I have also flown the coaxial helicopters, those were pretty easy. I am planning on getting a DJI Neo when they come out, since I miss the aerial photography stuff.
@@poorboysrc I had an original phantom. It was nice. Had one of their minis, very very nice! I just got tired of the faa meddling crap and got out of drones completely. But, the new neo at 135 grams means I would not have to deal with the faa. So I am considering one.
You have to calibrate the gyros by pushing the sticks down and to the left both of them simultaneously to reset the gyro I hope you've done that and I hope you did it for this video
great little heli! was wondering if you had to do any trimming on the yaw, and or other functions since i have myself a horizon hobby 180 QX drone which constantly needs adjustments which were not really adjusted at the factory and makes it a pain in the ass to fly. so hence, it's collecting dust in the box until i'm ready to try it again. keep up the reviews and the great vids! cheers bro!
It was windy out so I couldn't tell if it needed trimming or not. I think it did, but the breeze also played a role in things. I need to fire it up in my house and trim it up there then take it out again.
Great flying, if anyone i the comments has some proper racing or freestyle drones contact Phil and give him an FPV experience. I have 19 drones all made by myself and they rip around 100mph and windy conditions dont matter. But its best to learn in acro with no assistance or you get bad flying habbits and cant do tricks.
@poorboysrc it is fun for sure, it'd best to learn the basics on a sim like liftoff and learn in acro mode. If you ever get the chance give it a go with FPV goggles on its an amazing experience.
Careful with the products from that company I own seven of those helicopters like some of these messages are telling you the four-channel hellies from this company are well put together if you use their higher quality remote you can get away with using the same one across all of their helils, as with some of their products they may work better with a different transmitter but you probably don't own one so just stick with what they sent you and I believe if you can handle the RC car you should be able to handle one of these RC hellies
There is one thing I need to tell you right off the rip if you're able to find the video that shows you how to lower the head speed it's very simple to do please do so and you're going to want to lower the head speed about three clicks and that Haley will settle down and will be just an utter Joy to fly I mean if you're able to follow that video and lower the head speed 3 to 4 clicks you will have a helicopter that doesn't do the toilet bowl when it is trying to stay in position.
The gyro does not hold its position if this helicopter is equipped with a small camera underneath it should have optical flow where it sits there taking pictures for you and then compares the two pictures and then makes the movement according so it is not a perfect system for GPS like hold but it should at least provide you from something that doesn't fly away. But there's another problem with this type of flow and this type of old you're going to see that the helicopter continues to make strange movements if you're not controlling it once you put input into the system the optical flow drops off and you get this turkey jerky type of flying that is kind of like yourself is going to feel weird
Oh no!!! That's what happened with the drone I was sent last year. Hit "hover mode" it hovered, a gust of wind came, and it became shark food in the Pacific Ocean. 🤣🤣🤣
went to the site and they have a basic and upgrade version but don't tell ya the difference between the 2 besides price. i don't know but to me that's not good business.
Hmmm, interesting. Try sending them an email and see if they can explain? I bet the upgrade comes with more batteries. There were a couple open slots in the packaging tray. 👍🏻
