Welcome back to another video from here in Boston Bay, Jamaica. Today me and a few of my friends go check out the Famous Portland Jerk Festival but upon arrival we realize it was a little too pricy for our budgets. After eating some food and trying my first ever ginger drink, We realized that we could have an even better time just hanging outside with the locals so that’s exactly what we did. We finished the day with a casual trip to Boston beach and listened ti the music that was going on at the Portland jerk festival.
Day 2 i took my subscribers up on a suggestion that has been going off in my comments a lot, and that was to visit The Blue Lagoon here in Portland Parish. This place is a MUST DO when you visit port Antonio. You can rent kayaks here for around $20 usd for one hour and paddle to monkey island. Would you come to the Blue Lagoon?

Ohh, man! Portland was supposed to be apart of my trip in June, but the hurricane hit and I had to cancel it….Portland is a beautiful place and I will visit home again soon. That place has a lot of [rich] history and that’s why I wanted to visit there!

So if you have a phone you can use that. I started off with a GoPro 9 and that works fine but now i have a go pro 12 with just a cheap $20 tripod nothing too major. And i wait on my computer using iMovie application just cuz it’s free with Apple products.Hope that helps

Boston beach is nice....but winnifred beach round the corner I think takes the prize....last time I went blue lagoon the life jacket was like 700jmd...quite cheap if you can't swim like me.

Where you pay to get in is the entrance to the beach Pojo, . When you say "the beach", you're talking about the little beach adjacent to the main Boston Beach (which you access via those gates)

Yo to be straight up honest with you. I leave them on the beach. But i don’t even swim farm out i usually stay chest high in the water and stay facing towards my stuff if im alone. If im with someone sometimes i stay or sometimes they stay.. Jamaica is weird there’s a lot of integrity people won’t mess with your stuff but then at the same time they will lol.. you gotta be smart out here.

I have just subscribed and watched a few videos. Regarding videos and taking pictures. Regarding gigs etc. most of them like the one in portland most times it's communities or the people plan there singing etc. to earn money and entice people to go by saying artists will be there and they don't turn up. Jamaicans are hustlers they need to make a buck in order to put food on the table. The sellers would walk miles and miles and miles to sell from very early in the morning as they cannot afford transportation. Regarding the video tape the Jamaicans are now demanding or asking for money to video tape them or take normal pictures of them. They want money you did right to walk away. They do not understand that you taping them will bring business to them. They can get aggressive so continue to be on the alert and be careful. They will demand money from you even if they see a camera and you don't take it of them. Regarding the rivers and falls all of them like you said xbd advertised are beautiful , Dunns river never used to be like they have ruined it by cutting out the rocks and place it with platforms etc. and demanding to your guide and holding hands such a shame. They use to chip the rocks to prevent slime getting on them to make it slippy. Continue with the fantastic work you are going showing the country.

Hell no, that event was too expensive to enter plus pay for food! We literally have all exclusive parties for around that price that INCLUDES food and drinks. Should’ve just been $10-15 ! I mean idn i guess it’s normal for an “event” in Jamaica i heard when events take place things cost more which i understand fully if u got the cash… even if u have the cash and want to have a cheaper more fun time you can always do your own thing i mean you know how Jamaica is. But yea for folks coming from out of town and if they just wanted to blow cash by all means.. but literally right on the street was so much food i did a bad job at recording that but yea.. all in all turned out to be a good day. Jamaicans can be really rough though, especially if they smell fear, it's all about approach they can sniff you out a mile away as a Jamaican I can testify to that you just have to polish your approach or try to sneak it in there to avoid confrontation. Bag packers have been coming to Jamaica for decades now just have to be strategic.
