The realisation when it gets to you that our sun while becoming a red giant swallows the earth. Its radius will reach over 178 milion kilometers while the earth is only 149 milion kilometers away...
@@xsangyhix Maybe not. The Sun will lose mass as it expands, so it's possible that the Earth's orbit will migrate outward and allow it to escape being swallowed by the dying Sun. The habitable zone will move past the Earth much sooner than that, though. In only about a billion years, the increased heat from the swelling Sun will begin to evaporate away the Earth's oceans.
And not only that the collision of two neutron stars in this nutshell makes it very cool, But the simulated collision also gives me an idea of how white dwarfs(and other stars)collide.
I'm not totally confident with their explanation. They said that iron is unfuse-able but its my understanding (that I can't be bothered to fact check) that iron IS fuse-able but it just takes way more energy than it puts out and that net loss of energy is what causes the star to collapse.

Yeah, it's stuff like this that makes you realize how uncreative and limited the minds of men and their primitive creationism (religious) stories are. When you look out beyond and discover the true nature of the universe, it is spiritual and uplifting in an incomparable way, but it is also often scary and humbling. You can tell this shit wasn't conceived by the mind of a human, it is something much greater than that. The true stories of our origins and creation leave me speechless.
