STOP TOUCHING THE PAINTINGS!!!! every time she is touching the painting it churns my stomach! such beautiful piece of art must be preserved in a lot more better way. Touching them with bare hands will only destroy 200 year old colors.
Hi Swati.. you missed on one unique thing and that's language in Thanjavur. It's not pure Tamil. It's mix of Marathi and Tamil. It's very unique which is never noticed. You can showcase this on lallantop platforms
शायद आप किसी ख़ास इलाके की बात कर रहे हों. क्योंकि तंजावुर में तो तमिल ही चलती है हर जगह. हमारे ड्राइवर साहब तंजावुर के ही रहने वाले थे. उनसे भी कन्फर्म किया, मगर ऐसे किसी तथ्य की जानकारी नहीं मिली.

Maybe it's coming down or folks are migrating. I have met 2-3 families who speak in just mix language and it's sounds very beautiful. If I find any authentic video then I will share. Just giving another slang of South Indian Marathi.

Tamils dont speak Marathi..A few families in Tanjore spk Marathi who are fro the Maratha family, but Tamil is primarily the language of Tanjore.. It was the capital of the Cholas.

I came to know about Tanjore paintings about 32 years back when I was in Calcutta.
A friend of mine was very deft painter and was quite popular and she also trained under MF Hussain & Ganesh Pyne and other great contemporary painters.
She only told me about this style of painting and I immediately asked her make one. It was expensive to make then as well, as it is decorated with gold leaf and foild in specific places.
She made the image of Deity Annapurna and till date it is with me and has a place in the house.
Not only they are good fortune but are also great decorative piece.
I would like to have another one, if I can.
I have been promised one by another friend of mine from Dehradun who specialises on in Tanjore paintings. Her style is very sparkling and oil based on canvas and not on wooden plate. I am yet to get it, but she would definitely make one for me
In my home, I have neo paintings, cubism, portraits, and modern abstracts Tanjore and African Ebony arts & een forbidden now ivory carvings and a surreal painting also.
Sadly, very few are able to appreciate it and jsut says OH!! Paintings, but they are not matching with your decor and furnishing. It makes me very sad.
Glad that by this program , you would be able inculcate some refinements in life of viewers, given that life has become hard for younger generations, paintings, art & culture are not a priority.

सर्फोजी राजे भोसले खुद एक चित्रकार थे... और आंखो के डॉक्टर भी थे। दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी हस्तलिखित पुस्तकालय भी उन्होहे स्थापित किया था। और ब्रिटिश भारत में नहीं आते तो आज भारत मराठा साम्राज्य के अधीन होता।

कॅमेरा अच्छी तरह से घुमाया नही. ये तो प्रोफ्फेशनल कॅमेरामन नही हैं. कैसेही कॅमेरा घुमाया. पैंटिंग के close up दिखाते तो अच्छा होता. रुहनको और पैंटिंग के बारेमे study करना चाहिये.
