EASY Cardboard Boomerang! (Comes Back to You)

Looking for something to do with those old Cereal or Cracker Boxes that you usually just throw out or recycle?! Well here's an easy way to turn those recycled items into something that even when you throw away, it comes back! :-)
In this tutorial, I introduce a new Cardboard Boomerang (Tri-Blade) that I designed recently. I go into detail on how you can use old Recyclable materials to cut out a handheld and simple-to-make returning Tri-blade Cardboard Boomerang!
For the tutorial, you will need:
- Thin Cardboard: From Cereal Boxes, Cracker Boxes, Popcorn Boxes, etc. (You don't want to use packing boxes which are too thick, as they don't work as well!)
NOTE Many people have commented that THICK paper such as card stock or perhaps cover paper works also (I have yet to try or test this myself).
-A Pencil: You can use a pen as well, but a pencil is preferred so you can erase in case you make mistakes.
- A Ruler: Preferably one that has both inches and centimeter measurements
- Scissors: We will first draw the outline and then cut it out of the cardboard
I give diagrams and explain at the end how to throw it, so DON'T skip that part otherwise you will not see the proper way to throw it!

How to make that
Where did u get ur inspiration from
That’s a good question. I have a few tri-blade boomerangs and was inspired to make one. So I got the idea to draw an equilateral triangle and messed around with lengths and stuff like that. I wasn’t really sure how to go about making the air foil so I decided to model it after one that I have which basically took up half of the blade in a diagonal direction. I know a little bit about how air foils work so I tested it a few times and eventually got one that worked (the one with foil was my first one). That first one had a flatter end, which I just lengthened a bit and rounded off a bit in the newest design.
Nostalgia mate. I remember years ago I would keep complaining that I couldn’t fold the original boomerang. XD oh have times have changed

Rob, I remember watching your videos as a child in elementary/middle school. I remember getting frustrated over the things that were difficult to make, especially the paper boomerang haha. watching your videos made me fall in love with origami. As of now, I am going to graduate high school in a couple months. I remember watching the day in the life of a dentistry student video and how daunting I thought it was. Surely, now, u are not a student and I understand that life goes on. Please make an update video (time permitting) on how life is going and maybe some advice on how to get through college and even graduate school. It is amazing to look back and rediscover memories I forgot I had.

Thank you for this great idea. My children are all adults now, with my 2 Sons still here at home. I think this will be a great activity to carry out for fun, interaction and laughter while we compete as the best 'fliers' during lock down.

Nice idea of adding foil to boomerang
It works with card stock but you need to stack and stick two of the boomerang for it to work properly.
