I think this Lick is so great because it forces you to move through the shapes. Seeing those minor third jumps across the wideness of the neck instantly opens up links to each shape (because I think alot of guitarists are shape players.) For me though, your "How to practice" masterclasses fundamentally changed my playing. I can vouch, they are excellent!
Thanks so much, Andrew! I'm glad you got that out of this exercise - it's definitely supposed to break you out of those shapes! So glad you found "How To Practice" to be useful, great to hear! 😃
Ben im curious to hear your take on how to think about 2-5-1s major and minor, tips and tricks, just getting into that stuff to play autumn leaves, major jazz blues, minor blues, love all your playing on those tunes
Im convinced Gibson es 335 is the greatest guitar ever manufactured. I need one so bad. Its my favorite tone now. I know it's an Ibanez but still has that tone.
Okay, I have one question. No matter what guitar you play, you sound the same (in terms of tone, playing wise, I can't tell the difference either), so why have multiple guitars at all?

@@beneunson Please come back to play a show in Australia sometime! Id love to see you play in Sydney one of these days.
Interesting lick, very much the same as what I use for the Major scale
Great! Thanks for watching!
Few players will match your elegance in playing. Very instructional, this one! Have you thought about publishing the backing tracks?
Thank you so much, Matthias! I hadn’t thought about that, let me see what I can do!

Ok. I’d rather hear you replay that first 4 bars of your intro piece to this vid. Thanks!
Thanks for checking it out, Wick!
@@beneunson it’d be great if you could keep a calendar showing your dates of playing out so we New Yorkers could find you for a live listen. Thanks!

Good question! There are subtle tonal differences between each instrument, I'll do a gear rundown video soon and explain it in more detail 😀
