How Safe Is Diving Into the Abyss in a Private Submersible?

- Inside Edition’s Lisa Guerrero traveled 300 feet below the surface in a submersible. The $3.5 million submersible, named the Triton, is owned by millionaire philanthropist and entrepreneur Carl Allen. Her journey began after landing at Allen’s privately owned island in the Bahamas. After a mandatory safety briefing with the crew, it was time to launch Triton. Compared to OceanGate’s Titan submersible, Allen says he feels Triton is impeccably safe and has never been in an accident. Guerrero’s journey to the seafloor took about 40 minutes and the submersible made a safe return to the surface.
This sub has been running for years. Although any undersea exploration is risky, this one at least wasn’t built by nutjobs at the lowest possible cost. It also isn’t meant to go to the really deep bottom of the ocean so keeping pressure in check is easier and there’s actually a chance of rescue and survival if something goes wrong.
Many beyond rich people exist aren't adventurous to leave a mark behind. They can afford creating a beast finder.
This is going to end up like the Titan
@@GORULLA Anything can be created. Even a sub rated 3x the deep capacity of the Mariana.
I would create a sub with walls thicker than 3 bank walls. And a huge platform for lift if I was a Billionaire
@@ElectricVehiclesAreGoodF-ti7xd ok? And I don’t see your point???
Thanks for visiting @InsideEdition! We enjoyed having you on the fleet and giving Lisa a sub dive!
What was the whole latch door issue? And what do you guy's use instead of a Play Station controller? 🎮
@@daixer3156thinking the same here as well...what is the deepest they have ever gone under...I think that last incident where those guys died scarred me when it comes to sea exploration
Yeah, got to be careful with that 59 year old lady 😂
Thank you for such a great adventure! What an experience! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Just because the seacraft is rated for 3k feet doesn't mean you should risk it and go that deep. Do simple exploratory dives at 1500 to 2k feet and you won't have an issue. This guy is doing it right.
3k miles?!
LOL
no.

bro doesnt know the difference between miles and feet....lol
I would get on this..if I wasn't scared of drowning. I like the safety precautions he's taken. He obviously spent the necessary money to make his submersible safer than the titan
Fixing a latch on a submarine with pliers is crazy.
Lol
Just super glue it you'll be fine
Pull out the zip ties
What would you have used?
I mean it worked no?
The OceanGate CEO should learn a thing or three about this video
Oh wait…
💀
Wtf 🗿
He dead 👁️👄👁️
welp there's always next time
Bros watching in spectate mode
At least this submarine didn't implode and went missing for a few days.
Or had a fake ps3 control
Atleast the sub wasn't controlled by a game controller 😅
Good rule of thumb. Do not discuss anything negative while on a dive. Do not tempt fate
I don’t wanna die in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine
Lol! Love this rendition, but it is a submersible!
Well this one isn't controlled by a gaming control to start with.
After what happened with the Titan submersible, there's no way in hell I'm going in one
As if you can afford it
@@dishwasher69says the dude who can’t afford it
@@dishwasher69he can actually. I know him, he is a bitcoin multimillionaire
@@dishwasher69 I'll never understand why people like you can't read and keep it moving, the dude just said he doesn't want to go in one, whether he can pay for it or not is irrelevant.
Construct it properly
I would rather go in a submersible in the bahamas than the north atlantic
Lisa is always so unintentionally funny. *latch breaks, she goes *okay so this is concerning. Then zooms in on the millionaire 😭
Not the Titan reference😭
I didn’t know anyone bought walkers cay airfield in the Bahamas. That island has been mysteriously abandoned for a bit.
It's giving OceanGate
Lisa's first time go diving in the submersible is a whole new level
Too maximize safety make sure to use a 1 dollar controller
And a dictionary.
She should have left as soon as the latch came off😭
lol fr 😂
Bro is so nervous/afraid
Lol people will never learn
Nothing bad to say about this guy. A rare example of a truly good billionaire. He isnt using this money in himself, and he's self made. Philanthropist too. Hopefully one day i can go out to visit his island and meet him for some fishing ❤
Lisa is so brave!
Her job told her she had to do this lol
Part of the job…
Actually… My job didn’t tell me to do anything nor do they ever. I get to decide what stories I cover and how we cover them.
so brave to go on vacation for free to a private island and get the diving experience of a lifetime lol (I'm jealous)
“Tritin” sounds very familiar to one that imploded a few months ago.. let’s hope the person that buys this sub is not named Stockton.😀
💀 yea good thing
“Triton” is a better name than “titan”: Triton was made for the sea whereas titan was made to be on land, makes logical sense.
@@restart426 hey, uh, fun fact, it was meant as a joke.
@@FrankSinatrq nothing goes over my head, my reaction time is too fast!
@@restart426 it’s alright.
At least they didn't go into a crush depths.
Just like asking "How safe is it to fly?" or "How safe is it to drive?"
I think flying is more safe.
@@THEPLAYER1isAFKdepends on the car, depends on the car. depends on the submersible
People acting like there terrified of the submarine because of what happened to Ocean gate's accident. Reason why Ocean gate's expedition failed is because Stockton (ceo of ocean gate and the one in charge of the titan itself) didn't have safety regulations. Stockton threw out the idea of having safety regulations in the first place just to achieve his dream of seeing the Titanic in person. Ignored all the warnings from the older experienced people (firing them too) and having young people take over is a mistake on his part.
Stockton never had a backup in case something went wrong with the Titan and they would have the life guards and other helpers to look for the missing titan. No alarm button to alert the need of help, no backup, no tracking device to locate the sub itself for the lifeguards to track it immediately. The while thing is mentioned at one point that finding the missing sub from the depths of the ocean is like finding a needle in a haystack.
The whole thing could've been avoided if Stockton took safety seriously instead of "taking a risk" to which your life is in danger.
He fought for his rights against safety regulations. Guess he got what he wants
Still far more convenient leg room and space than the Titan.
5:06 man, that sounds like the real-life version of the One Piece.
This is going to End up like the Titan I swear 💀
It’s not, since this one is actually made out of steel instead of plastic
@@stephaniegiacco7524 good
These dives happen every day in safe, code-compliant submersibles (unlike the Titan).
Watch a video explaining how the Titan failed before looking ignorant.
@@dusscode something still could go wrong
A Billionaire would say “ yeah it’s safe” still doesn’t convince me but still cool 😎
Billionaire has more to lose.
Lisa Guerrero has no business being so 🔥 at 59!
This looked so cool!!
That’s my bike, you have my bike, you stole my bike
Bruh Lisa is a different breed. I'd be way to claustrophobic to be in that thing for so long. I respect her for this.
Everyone’s interested in the ocean now after titan
personally after what happened to the titan submersible i’m not tryna go down in a “triton” submersible.
Nothing is 100 percent safe no matter how expensive or rich. 😢
Pray for everyone! Remember, GOD hates the sin, not the sinner! ✝
That sub is awesome
I WOULD NEVER
Did we not find this out in June
Wow nice view
Just Wow wow...
I would love to but my claustrophobia says no
Now that’s something that I want to go on.
Treasure hunter guy has a cool story
Man with 150+ dives actually said "Let's get this over with like having a baby" My dude I'm not going in there if they paid me a trillion dollars.
The guy actually had safety regulations unlike Ocean gate's ceo. There's a huge difference between one who actually cares about safety and one who didn't. Ocean gate's ceo didn't care about the safety and threw the idea out the window which led to his and the other unfortunate people inside the titan die.
There was no backup when they didn't reach back to the surface in time and no way of tracking down the Titan's location. Even if they did it would've been difficult to get them above due to how the gravity down there was stronger than what we stand on.
How many times do y’all want to learn the same lesson
It’s not going to happen, scaredy cat.
The latch on the door breaks.... yeah no
This is like playing Russian roulette. I'll just visit the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach Ca.
Where’s the Xbox controller tho?
Ps4
This is wild
I’ll trust a military sub not some public or private company…….
Oh no
I came here expecting deja vu and stayed for the overall wholesomeness of sensibilities.
Safe and effective
0:11 You can tell she never been outside 😂
After that hack broke, don’t even worry abouT it . 😂 back to land we go
Not me!
Lisa living the good life
She did not go inside after it broke! Lmao
I wonder why the company felt the need to put this video out there lmao
this guy is WEALTHY
We all found out how safe it was a few months back
I don’t care who says it’s perfect. I wouldn’t go!
No no thank you no😅
The latch broke off that easily 😂😂😂
I get it’s the safety latch just in case the lock fails but na lol
Oh it's very safe....until everyone dies.
Here we go again
4:05 lol
I would love to see the deep ocean. I would definitely go on something like this if it became more affordable in the future. Nobody should be taking regular people to Titanic-level depths though. Not right now. We don't have the kind of technology to transport people like that safely.
Cool
That sub reminds me off Jurassic world fallen kingdom at the opening scene
Hope the controller really works well now
Heh the Grand Theft Auto 5 Triton has brought to Real Life
Im sorry, but this is crazy. We just had the tragic loss on that titanic sub, and now this vessel had to be secured closed with a pair of pliars?! Ummm...maybe we hault on deep sea exploration until there ar ebetter regulations on par with military grade subs
Now you should cover Carl Allen's story.
Rush was a aerospace engineer, he tried to make submarines out of aerospace material which doesn’t work under pressure
here we go again
“How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man!”
How Safe Is Diving Into the Abyss in a Private Submersible?
me: yeah not safe at all
Controller disconnected please reconnect.
Is it PlayStation or Xbox?
Here we go again 😭
It’s like saying we should shut down all planes because one fell
If I had to travel underneath the water surface and I see sharks I would be scared 😬😬😬
Let’s hope something like this ever happens like last time?😕
All they need now is a logitech controller...
Tritan sounds like titan
Nah. I'd rather be high in the sky then deep underwater.
Is it run with a video game controller?
No.
Submarine: first time
300 feet dont make me laugh.. Last week I was welding at that depth
there were multiple people who knew the titanic would fail before it even dove, they saw all its flaws through cheap craftmanship.
controller disconnected
People never learn
Triton, hmm, sounds a little bit like Titan
Sooo 3 months ago!
Don’t got to the titanic now 💀
Triton? , wonder when its going to end up like the Titan
The fact that 5 people just died the same exact way is mine. Blowing that this woman is willing to get in this... If you notice they're calling it a submersible and not a submarine. It's almost like they're mocking the people that died. I don't know it's just weird it sits weird with me
