    I want to go back to Kobe and see Chinatown, walk the area and find places to eat and shop! Kansai very beautiful people! We stayed at the Rokkomichi Hotel, area of Mount Rokkomichi, beautiful and serene! I would love to see the Crystal and Stone shops of Japan! Go, Go, Go John, you're doing great! JR Line is the best transportation I have experienced, love the shinkansen and how clean and quiet it was! Love these streams!

    We ate at the very same Steakland you stood in front of back in April, and I have to say, the food was AMAZING! The Kobe tenderloin was very tender and cooked to perfection. And they had no problem with us filming our food being cooked and eaten despite not asking.

    • @onlyinjapanGO
      @onlyinjapanGO  5 років тому +1

      I am very very happy to hear that!! I think the quantity of Kobe Beef has increased 3 fold since the last time I walked into Steakland which means they must have better cuts. It seems pricier than before but it’s easy to go in and try, I still prefer the local places where the chef is selective and doesn’t prepare for hundreds but just a few. I’ve noticed the extra little details they put in really make the experience better as well as the taste. STEAKLAND is very good with tourists and English menus (majority of the time) and used to being filmed as a result 🎥 🥩

    I was in Okinawa for an extended stay. Such a wonderful place. I bicycled and hiked and did some scuba diving also. The foods were amazing. I found a nice little zoo in Okinawa city. Some of the night life was fun. The shopping experience was different. I ate foods that I had no idea existed. Some people were a little bit wary but many were very nice. I want to go back one day.

    I was teaching English to a class of tax officials in Tokyo on the morning of January 17, 1995, the day of the Great Hanshin Earthquake. Some of my students were from Kobe. 😔 Kobe is now rebuilt and in fact is even nicer than before. I respect Japanese for the ability to bounce back after (sadness and) disaster.

    • @onlyinjapanGO
      @onlyinjapanGO  5 років тому

      It was a terrible day for the whole country and I came a few years after in 98 and remember when the Akashi Kaikyo bridge opened, seeing the rebuilding move SO FAST was inspiring in the face of the tragic day. Today Kobe is better developed but also a little retro which is part of its charm.

    The gyozas looks good.
    Btw the cheese gyoza is mixed with minced chicken and u shouldn't mix eating gyozas....it won't taste well.
    Something like u taking your dinner on the whole, blending it before drinking it down.
    Anyway nice intro to Kobe night out but do take care next trip there.
    U might not get so lucky if the wrong people recognizes u.
    Btw can u do a walk through on Hakone on a 2 day 'budget trip'?
    I'm keen on going there but having no idea on how to go about it.

    Great video! Licking my chops! Question...we always ask if we can take a photo or video before we do. And we always try not to take the other customers' pictures unless they're okay with it. Why do some restaurants or vendors prohibit picture taking? Once, we were at a grocery store and we didn't know at the time, but my husband was going to take a photo of an expensive eggplant and they got mad. Is it because they don't want competitors to see their products?

    • @onlyinjapanGO
      @onlyinjapanGO  5 років тому

      It makes people feel uncomfortable and many people don’t feel the same as me. Before saying yes, at least in Japan, people want to know how you will use it, how to see it, what’s it for etc. that’s more than fair I think. Respecting other people’s privacy is important and I do my best, film on the backs or people, hands etc. let people know obvious I am filming so they can escape or come say hi - MANY people do come say hi when we’re live!
