So sorry about the audio issues near the end, I thought it was still worth uploading though. i'll be back again soon with more reactions and less audio problems haha.
Might be a good idea to watch Queen's 'Dragon Attack' performance at Milton Keynes 1982. Why? Because halfway through the song, Brian's guitar strings snap on the Red Special and he had to run off stage to get the spare guitar, leaving the other waiting for him to come back. Even Queen get audio problems too :) Here's the performance in question: ua-cam.com/video/3_g5SWui864/v-deo.html
That song is from the album Queen II I highly recommend you listen to the whole album it's like a progressive rock album the songs complete each other You can do a livestream reacting to the album!
I bought Queen II after I bought A Night at the Opera. I was hooked. This is my favorite song on that album. I bought all of their other albums after this. One of my favorite groups. RIP Freddie.
The "The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke" merges seamlessly into the next song "Nevermore" on the album. Together they are exactly 4 minutes and feel like one song. The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke + Nevermore -> ua-cam.com/video/htTa6piZWl4/v-deo.html
Apparently Freddie loved he painting and would often make up stories about it as a kid, This was his musical description of what he saw in that painting and it turned out the be a masterpiece like most of his songs were and utterly brilliant lyrically, It pleases me no end to see the younger generation discovering the music of Queen and liking it so much thank you for a lovely reaction. 👍🏻
Certainly one of their more lyrically mind bending songs, goes hand in hand with March of the black Queen, Seven seas of Rhye, My Fairy King and Doing alright which all seem to be written around Freddie's imaginary world
When I was 14 I had my first album Live Killers, Loved it so much I had to buy the back catalogue! I went to one of my local record shops to look at the albums, Queen II stood out because of the album cover, The music blew me away! This is one of the best albums they did! 💜
Thank you ...that was excellent...I think it took Richard Dadd something like eight years to complete this painting...there’s no end to Queen’s talent...and as for Freddie...his sublime voice...the music he composes....the lyrics he writes....and as well he plays piano...Freddie the legend🤩
Queen II is one of my favourite albums. Side 2 (or side Black) is fabulous and there are no gaps between tracks. I recommend you listen to the whole side. You won’t regret it 😉
I bought this album when it came out back in1974 while in high school. The whole album is quite interesting from begining to end. Each side,"Side White" which is side 1 and contains the song "White Queen" and "Side Black" which contains the song "March of the Black Queen/Funny How Love Is". There are a number of songs, some shorter, than run into the next song on the album. If you want a longer song react to "Marchof the Black Queen/Funny How Love Is" as that's how they appear on the album. "March of the Black Queen" was "Bohemian Rhapsody" before it was recorded as it clocks in at six minutes and thirty four seconds.
Agree with your comment about March of the Black Queen - that was my entry song into Queen in 1975, the first I liked and thought "give me more of that please"! It's been a love affair ever since!
Good reaction! Please do Dreamers Ball live in Paris 79.You see Freddie trying out his French and Brian and Roger making horn sounds with their mouths..lol
Beautiful! Queen has something for every occasion and just makes everything better! For the studio version, Freddie indeed played a harpsichord and he also played a grand piano for the live rendition at the rainbow (audio only, no video). The mythical/fantasy themes are what I love most about their early work. In fact, when Freddie and his sister were kinds, they created their own "Tolkien-esque" fantasy world called the "Kingdom of Rhye" and he told her stories, etc. Some believe Freddie took those childhood memories and wove them into his songs. Other such songs include "Lily of the valley", "March of the black queen", "Nevermore", "ogre Battle" (live at the odeon is outstanding!), and "my fairy king". That world is most prominent in the song "The seven seas of rhye". Here is a link for live at the rainbow ua-cam.com/video/NicAtWbLGJ8/v-deo.html!
I absolutely LOVE side 2 of Queen II. It's so over-the-top; so baroque! It's obviously a very early Queen effort...and one for which they really stretched the physical limits of overdubbing nearly to the literal breaking point. Most of the tracks on this album side segue into the next so if you ever want the full experience you should just listen to the whole thing - from Ogre Battle through to Seven Seas of Rhye. It's a great ride!!
Queen 2 is my favourite Queen album by far. Every song on this album is amazing. If you haven't already, I'd recommend The March of the Black Queen from the same album. It's a lot more experimental than Bohemian Rhapsody and it has so many overdubs and harmonies that the tape it was recorded on became transparent.
Queen sometimes makes songs that are split into two, meaning that although the songs flow into each other, they're put onto two separate tracks. Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke for example flows seamlessly into another song called Evermore. Queen even went one step further on the 'A Day at the Races' album, where the first song 'Tie Your Mother Down' has this slow build up. This slow build up is also done at the end of the last song of the album 'Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together) ' so that when the vinyl record/CD loops back round to track one, the sound effect gels the first and last song together into a seamless sound. Queen also did this transition with three songs! The songs are Tenement Funster, Flick of the Wrist, and Lily of the Valley, and you can hear this at: ua-cam.com/video/_taatvaBIuM/v-deo.html
One of the craziest things is there's a piano in there also, but so low you can't hear it. But if you wanna find out about the layers, you can look for the song channels (here on UA-cam). You can appreciate a little about the piano; some vocal harmonies; guitar little touches and surely more. The same goes for the song The March of the Black Queen.
the song was definitely inspired by the painting by Richard Dadd and if you had the painting in front of you it explains the painting clockwise beginning at a certain point (I forget where, been years since I read about it) my favorite song of all time, but to hear it properly search for 'Fairy Fellers Master Stroke/ Nevermore' as it segues into that song, and I believe both are available on youtube togeather.
Fairy Fellers goes into the next song “Nevermore” which is such a beautiful (but short) gem. It is one of the songs that comes from the fantasy world Freddie and his sister made up when they were young, same as Seven Seas of Rhye”.
Methinks this is the only reaction to this song I've ever seen. I actually played this song on my potable CD player (in the 90s!) when I went to view the painting at a museum
Doe, Thanks for all your reactions (I think I've seen 'em all.) May I suggest "The Prophet's Song" from "A Night At The Opera". Also another favourite of mine, "The March Of The Black Queen" from Queen 2. I hope you play these, love this channel!
The best way to listen to this, in my opinion, is by listening to all three songs *Ogre Battle/Fairy Feller/Nevermore.* Queen II may be my favorite all time album.
Love your 'Queen reactions'. I write horror books but as a Queen fan I have recently written a book about Queen called: QUEEN - A FAN'S PERSPECTIVE available to download from any Amazon site or even buy as a paperback. I think you'd find it very interesting and learn a lot more about Queen. If you do get it please let me know what you think. For each purchase of the book 10% goes to the Mercury Phoenix Trust. You should do a reaction to Teo Torriatte from A Day At The Races album. Freddie sings this ballad beautifully and the chorus is sung in Japanese. Keep up the good Queen reactions. Thanks
you can't do this album justice unless you listen to it start to finish, just about every track morphs into the next one - if I had to pick a favorite Queen album this would probably be it, cheers!
There weren't any audio problems. That song bleeds into the next song, which is the piano you heard. That was the beginning of "Nevermore", which you really need to listen to. It's only about 1 1/2 minutes long, but it's beautiful.
Awh No honey! You have to listen from the beginning of Ogre Battle all the way through Nevermore. They all are connected. Best work by Queen before they became popish. Definitely early 70's. I found it very funny that Freddie was singing about Fairy Quaere Fellers at the time. We called this ACID ROCK at the time.
This whole album is crazy & cool. Love it.... Check out "Nevermore" which blends into Fairy Feller @ the end of it..... btw, your hair looks awesome in this video.
Hiya, you probably know by now but you need to listen to the Trilogy of "Ogre Battle, Fairy Fellers Masterstroke, Nevermore" Then you'll appreciate more... Love your reviews btw xx
Heyup DD, another early Queen classic as you rightly said in connection to the painting with some of the characters mentioned in the lyrics. The ending sounded fine to me as if memory serves me right, I'm sure it goes straight into "Nevermore" hence the abrupt ending...............I'd like to make a request if I may. It's a back to back reaction of a song called "Zombie".........The original by "The Cranberries" followed by the cover version by "Bad Wolves"........both versions must be listened to please to get the powerful yet emotional effect of the song.
Ciao beautifull girl!! Your choose are not easy....this is another great queen song.....like headlong....and...i think ...i love you....you are very beautifull......i just tell you that? I dont remember🤭🤭
Haven't you got all the queen albums? This is album track and was considered as a single. You need to get all queen album's most of their album tracks are as.good as their hits some are even better!
So sorry about the audio issues near the end, I thought it was still worth uploading though. i'll be back again soon with more reactions and less audio problems haha.

At the end of the song you can hear the beggining of another song call "nevermore"... It's a very short song but a pure jewel
Yeah this song it's a trio with two other great songs of Queen Ogre Battle and Nevermore
That song is from the album Queen II I highly recommend you listen to the whole album it's like a progressive rock album the songs complete each other
You can do a livestream reacting to the album!
Oooh nice idea! Thanks!
Queen II is great to play D&D type video games to.
@@DoeDarling It is a great Idea. Queen II is the best Album...
Queen II is probably the most creative album tbh
Such a fantastic album! The March of the Black Queen is is like a proto Bohemian Rhapsody. So many underrated, amazing deep cuts.
I bought Queen II after I bought A Night at the Opera. I was hooked. This is my favorite song on that album. I bought all of their other albums after this. One of my favorite groups. RIP Freddie.

That's pretty cool to know, thanks!
this song is about a painting, I think is in the Louvre. Coincidentally, the painting is called "The Fairy-Feller's Master-Stroke". I love the song/
Certainly one of their more lyrically mind bending songs, goes hand in hand with March of the black Queen, Seven seas of Rhye, My Fairy King and Doing alright which all seem to be written around Freddie's imaginary world
That's the 1st song I ever heard by Queen, in the 70's.
I love the way you say, "Is that the end? Really?"
Cute. Disappointed.
Almost speechless?
One song I keep using my rewind button for!
I envy you... I was born in 1983... I missed the good old times. I started to listen to this awesome band in 1997... It's still my favorite band
The Lyrics actually describe a Painting!
Richard Dadd “the Fairy Fellers Master Stroke ” 🤷♂️✌️
Yes the song goes into Nevermore which is even shorter. Most of the album is one continuous recording.
NEVERMORE is gorgeous!!
@@debramoore7513 for such a short song (1 minute +) a great song.
Queen II is hands down my favorite album.
It's ogre battle = The Fairy = Nevermore. They all fit each other like a jigsaw puzzle
Darkness, brightness, classic, Rock.. Freddie Mercury!

This is definitely a strange song, but amazing as well. Everting was thrown into the song, parts of the song is even a polka.
Another underrated gem I would recommend is "Was It All Worth It" from The Miracle.
Favourite Queen song as the album!
This video shows the characters in the painting mentioned in the song: ua-cam.com/video/15A0F5aOoPM/v-deo.html

Temazo
I just saw my notifications and i came to see you that's such a great song
The only record with some similarity to another Queen record, 'Death On Two Legs'
