One thing, and it's only a minor mistake: those aircraft Airwolf was fighting are definitely not Mirages. The Dassault Mirage is a delta-wing fighter, and the aircraft displayed on Airwolf's computer looks like a MiG-23 Flogger-E sweep-wing fighter.
Many scenes are changed or lost through the whole thing. The fight with the "mirages" is extended (1 in the actual episode, 3 as here) and cobbled together from stock footage from "Mad over Miami" and "Echoes of the Past" The attack on the Chaddanese training camp (on an island when Chad is landlocked!) is also cobbled together from stock footage, "Mad over Miami" and "And they are us". On board Airwolf is cut/unused scenes with the voices redubbed.
This is the first time I've ever seen that shot of the ADF pod at 1:54. I disagree about the voices redubbed in the fight against the 3 mirages. First time I've seen this footage too event though we know it's from "Mad over Miami" and "Short walk to Freedom". The guy in the back of Airwolf sounds like the same.
It’s been over 30 years. They should rerelease this as the complete 2 part pilot of “ Shadow of the Hawk”. I used to have the vhs of the movie but it was cut to ribbons with a bunch of f words inserted. Not what I remembered as a kid
I had the UK "Certificate 18" version in 1986 (never understood why the high rating) but noticed some of the dialogue had been dubbed over (mouth movements out of sync) that's the version I grew up with, my brother remembers the longer version when came on TV. When I bought the series on DVD back in 2005, I was surprised with the changes.
Danny R what’s ironic is the cert 18 version only has foul language. But there’s a scene in Gabrielle’s torture where it’s clearly alluded that she’s about to be raped. Bizarrely that’s in the tv version yet it’s not in the cert 18 version. And it’s more disturbing
I have seen the pilot episode a few time and I have never scene this. Where did this come from. Does the Shout Factory version of this have this scene it in. Moffit is very colorful in this scene. Might be fund to watch.
I wondered for a while if the rear crewman Mark Gordon was supposed to be gay, as he never shared Moffet or Sinclair's sexual banter and the protective care he took with the Arab boy in the pool.
Danny R I think they were saying that out of all three of them he was the one who started seeing the negative in what moffet was doing. While moffet and chuck enjoyed killing and messing with people in general. He shows concern later when he finds out that moffet tortured Gabrielle
The reason being is that the creators of the show knew what a mirage was and what is supposed to look like but France is ally you can act like your shooting an ally
You see how Moffet's is very cool headed, despite knowing there are fighters after him. He uses Air wolf's defence and it's crew to destroy the them. Stringfellow Hawke on the other hand thinks with his balls instead of his head. After Gabrielle died, the safest thing to do was to observe Moffet's activities from high altitude; reporting everything back to Archangel until agents can be brought in to deal with Moffet's and his crew. Whether they wish to capture or kill them. Instead, Hawke chose to hunt down Moffet's alone with no backup, he was driven by blind grief and anger, therefore not thinking straight. After expending all of Air wolf's weapons to kill Moffet, he achieved nothing. Gabrielle is dead; raped, tortured, and left to die of heat stroke and dehydration.
Gerann Gerber, in terms of piloting the aircraft in combat, he is better than Hawke and Santini, but as a person, he is much worse. He is a psychopath with a sadistic taste of torturing and killing women. Hawke, on the other hand, despite having a gruff demeanor, he does have a heart, but a severely wounded one, as his parents died in a boating accident, his girlfriend died in a car accident, and Gabrielle was tortured and killed by Moffet, this is what caused him to live almost like a hermit, and he uses his gruff demeanor as a shell to hide his wounded heart, but nonetheless, he does care for the lives of innocent people. Moffet has almost no regard for human life.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SCENE
So,Mig-23's are now Mirage's.I've had this movie on Laserdisc well before DVD,it's on Blu ray as well.
And at the end, Airwolf was over the sea. Chad is landlocked.......
Think Airwolf's infamous glaringly inconstant combat mode shots was the biggest aspect to nitpick! 🤣
Nice presentation 👍

JanovSeldon it’s very clever the way they did it

@@abbaszaidi8371 Very true!
I have the movie on DVD and season 1 on DVd
I prefer the movie version more action less talking and you see Airwolf put to its paces.
Stelios Stylianou nope. See my comment above
the best airwol
I love airwolf I have a model of it

CHAD IS LANDLOCKED
Era buena serie
Was a bit of a weird scene given you see the 'mirages' with soviet markings on them
I am season 1 on DVD
I wondered for a while if the rear crewman Mark Gordon was supposed to be gay, as he never shared Moffet or Sinclair's sexual banter and the protective care he took with the Arab boy in the pool.
Danny R good spot. Noted this too

@@Legitcar117 Yep, I agree. Gordon was also the only one who expressed concern about Moffet taking out an American Destroyer.

Moffet and his Rolex(so 1980's)
Let's take a look upstairs
Was jan in this

Hi There
I think Dr. Charles Henry Moffett is far better than String and Dominic!!
Regards
Gerann

He created her so yeah.
Didn't like that version of Airwolf what a knock off JMV and Ernest Borgnine version is the best
