your comment about people in the bike lane being a road design problem and not a pedestrian problem is yet another of the many reasons I love your chanel!
Man I love your videos so much. They truly are a huge comfort and the best vibes I could ask for. I have the exact same preference of hanging out in the morning or early afternoon with friends, it's the best time to catch as much sun as possible, and have tons of time to go for a bike ride then sit at a cafe and relax after with no rush to get back home for dinner or when it gets dark. You need to come to my new home of the Netherlands sometime! The bike infrastructure and cafe culture here is truly unmatched.
I am your follower from Russia and it's very nice to see that you meet and ride with the russian guy Kir. I live in Sibiria, Novosibirsk city. I love good coffee and to ride my bike like you. Thank you for your warm and friendly videos!
cool 👍 i am from berlin - germany - doing relaxed coffee rides - out here in the suburbs what is the lowest temperatur you go out to ride ? need a fatbike ? studded tires ? do you also have handlebar warmers - these special mittens for the winter ?
Hi Marcus! As always, a pleasant video with nice scenery, cool bikes, delicious coffee, and glorious Korean food. Can't wait to visit Korea again. BTW, recently bought a pink Bassi Hog's Back (like the one in the video) "at the source", C&L Cycles. Love it!
I felt validated with all the rings of your bell because I find myself chiming mine every time I’m cycling, especially when on a road with painted bike lanes. I learned the hard way that folks just need to be alerted to see a cyclist! Great to know Critical Mass is so global. I’ll be going to the one in Melbourne in just a few short weeks. I’ll make sure to vlog my experience as well!
Wonderful video! I admire the craftsmanship that goes into brewing your coffee (cold brew ?). I travelled in Ethiopia for many years, and they have the most amazing cafes called Tomoca. Nothing better than to have a solid brew and watch the daily life unfold in Addis Abeba.
Have always thought that stretch of (completely ignored) bike lane next to the Cheonggyecheon is ridiculous. I think in general Korean people don’t view bike lanes as being exclusively for bikes in the same way we do in the UK for example. Anyway, looks like another great ride / day out. Thanks for sharing!
Not sure i will ever quite give up the booze but definitely enjoying the fresh mornings now i have cut down a lot. Have a coupke of 90s GT frames to do up for myself and my 9year old daughter. Looking forward to some fun rides with her inspired by your retro-bike enthusiasm.
Cheers from Moscow 🪆 Surf Coffee is a great specialty coffee shop network here - love their Kenyan supply. Thank you - watching your channel is a calming pleasure for a bicycle enthusiast.
You’re speaking my language. I lived in S. Korea for a year, love making and eating Korean food, love riding my Rivendell, and love making my pour over coffee every morning. I spent many weekends back in 1999 - 2000 wandering around exploring Seoul. It’s great seeing the perspective you provide of the city from your bike!
Have fun at Critical Mass! In Ann Arbor, MI, we do "Bike Party," which we call "critical mass with a smile" - a rolling party with speaker trailers and music, monthly themes, and about 100 people joining each ride. It's the highlight of each month for many of us.
@@probablyriding ~ it is. I used to do my daily commute from Gwanghwamun to Seolleung along the Cheonggycheon stream. Those bike lanes were originally at street level but then were raised and became part of the sidewalk about 6 years ago. I assumed that the pedestrians complained that the sidewalk was too narrow. The. Cheonggyecheon stream is a milestone development in the city but was built so hastily that things like sidewalks were pretty much rendered secondary during the design phase.
@ at first it feels odd. Having so many cyclists riding and “taking over” the car lanes. But after a while you just go with the flow. Feels almost liberating! Enjoy the ride!
Hi, I always enjoy your videos, so relaxing. I would like to ask if you could add the addresses of these coffee shops? I would like to visit, but I'm having trouble finding them on the map. Thanks
I've been trying to work out what the song is that you use at the start. I recognise it but can't put finger on it, I feel like it's in Spanish though!
Funny how the stinky foods are often the tastiest. As a kid on a trip to Sudan in the '90s, I was offered a pungent delicacy called *_fessiekh_* (fermented fish). After some (a lot of!) encouragement, I allowed my tongue to skirt the outside of the sample spoon. Needless to say, not only did I clear the spoon, it took every fibre of my being not to clean out the entire bowl that the rest was served in (intended for a number of people). If you're ever in Egypt or Sudan, I highly recommend it. Just make sure it's from a reputable source; in Egypt especially there are rogue traders who rush the process; if not prepared properly, it can lead to botulism poisoning. Proper restaurants and family-/home-made are the safest options.
I find it a relief to know that the issue with hazard lights is international. I understand people wanna play it safe but man it's aggravating at times
I haven’t completely dialled it but this has made good cups: -17g coffee 250g water at 94c. -Coffee in 40g water in. Swirl. Bloom 30secs. -Pour the rest of the water. Stir with a spoon. -At 2mins release the valve. Swirl when the water is half way down. Enjoy. Some people put the water in first and the add coffee so the draw down is faster but haven’t had good results with that.
You should check out the 1zpresso lineup of grinders. The K-Ultra and ZP6 both brew incredible coffee and are beautiful objects. I love my ZP6 and often take it on overnight hikes (and hopefully a bikepacking trip soon!).
Hope you can come and explore Singapore soon, our government recently made a lot of bike lanes all around the country, with the largest one being a Railway converted to a Bicycle highway that connects all the way from the west to the east side of the country. Cycling to the other side of the country is so much better now without having to congest with motor vehicles
I had a hard time finding vegetarian restaurants in Seoul....However, my brother in law took us to a a restaurant specialized in tofu-based dishes near the DMZ and they had a delicious selection of vegetarian dishes. There were a lot of cyclists at that restaurant.
Just came here to say that you deserve an upgrade from the Porlex. I think you’ll find that a better grinder will make your coffees taste even better too. 🙂

It was a perfect day for a coffee ride.
your comment about people in the bike lane being a road design problem and not a pedestrian problem is yet another of the many reasons I love your chanel!
Less space for cars, more for bikes and pedestrians!

I stopped drinking too I feel great. Love the videos, I'd love to visit Seoul and cycle around !

I try not to but if they’re walking in the bike lane, then I have no choice.
I think a stonking great horn rather than a bell is needed
My dad has one just like I had as a kid in the 70’s. It gets noticed 📣📣
Wonderful video! I admire the craftsmanship that goes into brewing your coffee (cold brew ?).

Cheers, mate! I rode the other day in chicago's 10 degree weather and thought. "probably riding would be out here too i'd bet"

There are so many signs on this one saying ‘No Pedestrians’. It’s infuriating
I started drinking Flat Whites because of your videos! Cheers from Melbourne, Australia.
You’re in the right place for good flat whites!

I've put my Magic Dripper to one side and instead I make my morning Aeropress...
Thanks again for a charming video.

Lisbon has Critical Mass events and it’s so important for us cyclists. Happy to ser Seoul is also joining! Can’t wait to see more about it!
Great. I’ve never actually been on a critical mass ride. Looking forward to it!

Great video. To get the Klein or not to get the Klein, that is the question. On another note what is an acceptable amount of bikes to own? I’m at 2.
I’m the wrong person to ask that question.
When you can only just get into the space you keep your bikes in then you maybe have enough bikes. Maybe.!!
Seeing places I recognise in Seoul... makes me want to go back there. It's like being homesick, but I'm not from there.
Glad you enjoy seeing familiar places.
Uk is one of my favorite humans in Korea. I hope we can meet when I visit again in August.

What is that triangle hanging on the saddle?
A reflector from Bluelug.
Hearing you complain about people not using their indicators had me smiling. As someone who drives a lot in Korea, I know this all too well. 😂

Not at all. Almost impossible if you want to eat out.
