This is my situation at the minute. Working in mental health NHS for 14 years now and it's starting to affect my own mental health. This year has been the worst year so far and feel my mental health has dipped so much. I love dogs and looking to set my own dog walking business up. Looking to set it up start of next year hopefully.
Yes Steve! I can totally relate, worked for the NHS and became depressed after years and years. I started dog walking to help my mental health and BAM I was hooked. Not quite a dog trainer yet but thank you for the motivation
I'm just a volunteer dog walker people I know my mates got cancer old couple neighbors in 70s walk there dogs etc but I'd love to start doing it professional.thanks
Thank you for this video! How uplifting to see Steve go from stressed to a confident business owner. Very inspiring! I’ve recently taken redundancy from my corporate job. My 20+ year career has left me exhausted, overwhelmed and unfulfilled. I’m now re-evaluating how I want to spend my time and be of service to others in a meaningful way. I found this very useful!
Thanks for your lovely comment. The stress we put ourselves through can be incredible can't it? We are here to do more of what we love, but sometimes we get stuck into the rat race. We hope you find what you love to do soon! All the best. Warm wishes.
Thank you for the great inspiring video. I have had dogs for 45 years, bred health tested dogs and managed a cattery. Currently have 2 dogs and 2 cats but have had Guinea pigs, rabbits etc over the years. I would love to know more about starting up my own dog walking/pet sitting business
Thankyou for sharing your experience, as a dog lover my self I am looking at starting my own dog walking business so this has given me some great advice on where to start, but any other videos or advice would be much appreciated.
We have only made the one video ourselves on this type of business. It’s a great little business to get into though. All the best and if you need any advice please contact me via www.Craig-Robinson.com
This is definitely something I’ve been considering. I work in security, and it’s a long tedious 60 hours a week. Been in the game for 7 years. Time to move on!
Well done Steve, I’m in the planning and process stage hopefully I’ll be up and ready to go in the new year and walking dogs myself for a living been in the same dead end, soul destroying job now for 10years and it’s time move on. Thanks for the info gents.
Thats great to hear Danny. If there is any more information you require please get in contact via www.Craig-Robinson.com and we can perhaps have a chat. Good luck with your new business.
@@nathmcloughlin9776 I tried to but unfortunately there was a lot of people in my area who was doing walks for £5-£8!! Not a clue how they earned a living on £8 an hour, maybe it was just a hobby to them but I have spoken to a few walkers I know and they said it’s killing their business also

I am keen to start a dog walking business so as I'm at the very preliminary stages, any tips and advice are very welcome.

Fantastic video, I’m very much at the stage that Steve was at when he was wanting (needing!) to give up his job and wanting to start a dog walking business! Very useful information, thankyou!
Thanks for that insight, hope the business is going well. I've just started doing some online courses so as to start up my own dog walking business starting part time to build a client base, then hopefully being able to go full time with it. Your vid had some helpful hints, cheers.👍🏻
You're welcome. Steve is still very busy with his business. He's very happy where he finds himself in life. I'm glad we've been able to help you. All the best with it.
Hi Steve, Hi Craig! Thanks for the very informative video!! I've been in my job now for 16years & am uninspired everyday!! I have always loved dogs & have a Boxer dog of my own. I am thinking of starting my own dog walking/sitting business & would really appreciate any help, advice or contacts that you can provide me with. I would really love to see some more videos from you on how to set up a dog walking business, what reputable companies I can gain my dog first aid, dog behaviour & training certificates from etc Thanks again for a great video 👍 regards Tracey
Hi Craig very inspiring and a massive well done to Steve, i myself have had dogs all my life and i do a job in which i would like to leave.I have looked into the dog walking business and i am very interested in going forward with more in depth research.I am probably in a similar position as when Steve first started and a bit nervous about leaving a decent paid job, but very willing to move forward. any advice would be well appreciated Jeff
Thanks for your comment Jeff. Its very easy for me to say just go for it and take the risk, but I have been in business sometime now. But in all honesty, life does reward the practical risk taker Jeff. Making the right steps as we discuss in this video is fundamental. The correct steps will future proof you as much as possible. Please check soon for the new website to go live www.craig-robinson.com It will have a page where you can contact me direct. I don't mind having a free chat over the phone to help you move forward. I'm rather familiar with this type of business and it won't take long to explain in more detail just what Steve did to change his life for the better, and forever. Hope to speak to you soon. Craig.
Hi guys, thanks for this video. I have just started my new business dog walking but my goal is to have a doggy daycare centre! Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks, Sophie
Thanks for your comment Sophie. My advice is to just get started. Follow the steps that Steve took in this video. You can’t go wrong. The sooner you start the sooner you’ll see success.
Is there still a business opportunity in dog walking, I work In Iraq and I need to come home, I love dogs so I’m wanting to get some quals and start dog walking and training
Good question, Diane. It depends how close all of your doggies are. Steve will collect four dogs at different locations, walk them all together then drop them back. Then go and collect the next four and so on. If you don’t have a vehicle you’ll be limited by distance between clients. I hope this helps.
