Discovering & Fighting Against Japanese Beetles

Until last week I had never seen a Japanese Beetle. Our rental didn't have any of them. We just moved about 15 minutes south east of that rental and this area has them annually that the neighbors put it on their calendar.
Things I used against them:
Soap water spray (Dawn)
Beetle Traps
Toulle

Thank you for sharing your gardening. Your rosemary is growing just like mine, and I'm in NE England. Any chrysanthemum or glowers like painted daisy's, marigold... that help deter pests because they have natural pyrethrins in them. Ladybugs are great for controlling aphids on plants. I don't know what part of California you are in, but when i was in Antelope Valley, where I stayed, I had just enough room for a cement mixing tray of cat grass and a grow bag for a few tomatoes. Over here in England, the biggest leaf eater I have found are lilly beetles. They are a beautiful bright red and make little noises, so I have collected them and let them live out their little beetle lives in a natural vivarium habitat 15x15x15 glass with mesh top. I can feed them extra silly leaves to keep them happy. For me gardening feels like I am closer to God. I work with my hands, and sit for hours as I go around the garden pruning, cutting, pinching out, and regrowing cutting to make new plants like rose bush hybrids. My favourite if you ever see one is called scent from heaven. It's a climbing floribunda rose that has a very beautiful sweet rose smell. The other is twice in a blue moon which is also a climber that has large beautiful lavenders color blooms and a strong smell that is also unique. I look forward to the next video.

Ugh japanese beetles are my nemesis! Neem doesn't even seem to work well anymore. They're SO destructive! I'll try some of these tips thanks

There is a wasp you can release that helps and neem oil shouldnt kill the plants like dawn.
I wish I could grow bananas up here in indiana! You're way ahead of me in growth. Just started developing tomatos lol!

Lime leaves have a higher waxy protection on top. The dawn water is like a magnifying glass that focuses the sunlight to burn the leaves. Lime leaves have better resistance to the burning
