    Yoda: "Mm?"

Anakin went to today’s for advice and instead he got a lecture about letting go, tbh I think that yoda was a deciding factor when it came down to anakins help, yoda didn’t show him any understanding cuz the Jedi aren’t supposed to be attached when yoda himself made attachments

It’s sad that people don’t realize the king never meant to kill Yoda. He shot at Yoda knowing too well that Yoda would easily deflect it and kill him. It was suicide. He wanted to die. He wanted to send a message by dying but he also felt guilty about what he had done. He wanted to die with Yoda, his best friend.

Just more evidence of the pattern of reckless and short-sighted thinking from Yoda. He could have absorbed the blast with his hand. He had the power. To think he dared lecture Luke on not thinking his actions through...

Jason Aguirre You’re wrong. His friend was going to die one way or the other and Yoda respected Alaric’s wish to die now and with his friend. He could’ve stopped the blaster bolt. But he didn’t because he knew it wasn’t what Alaric wanted. He granted him a quick death, not a painfully slow one watching his people die. Yoda wouldn’t have killed him with his lightsaber otherwise.

MrBLexify Yes and no. The Seperatists were a front. They had their own senate but thee senators weren’t truly in power. The corporations and the sith were the ones in power but the members didn’t all realize this, thinking that this would be a better, less corrupt version of the republic. Which is ironic because the corporations in charge of the CIS were the source of much of the corruption in the republic senate. So Alaric wasn’t right to leave for the separatists, he should have become a neutral system. He was tricked by Dooku even if he was the one to approach Dooku. The reason why he didn’t become neutral is that he feared republic interference and reprisals. To save his people he doomed them. Alaric was the wisest fool. He could’ve have been a neutral system but he chose instead to involve himself in galactic politics as he had always done, and to participate in the clone war, siding with a greater evil than the republic without realizing it.

@@thedirector1378 you so sure about that the Jedi have committed far worse or atrocities than the Sith ever did and also common knowledge of the Sith was practically unheard of to the mass populations of the Galaxy even if people knew of the Sith the common people would just think of it as another order of force-users the Jedi try to exterminate cuz as far as the common people would be concerned with the conflict between the Sith and the Jedi they would see as just one group trying to get rid of competition

    • @marc-ericleblanc-seguin4514
      @marc-ericleblanc-seguin4514 5 років тому +115

Tyler Dunn Your argument is correct. But the first sentence is blatantly wrong. The republic has committed some war crimes, but very few, not the jedi. The jedi haven’t done anything awful in the clone wars. Unless you’re referring to the jedi thousands of years in the past, in legends. Those did commit some war crimes, but much fewer than the sith, I’d say 1 jedi war crime for 100 sith war crimes. And if we’re talking about legends, nobody actually remembers that for the same reason that they don’t remember the sith. The jedi have done nothing worse than the sith or the separatists.

@Wolf Alpha 900 you so sure about that Tiffany ways are actually quite better than the Jedi the Jedi are the biggest Hypocrites you can ever find in the Starwars universe and how exactly are the Sith thugs? In the Jedi would eliminate other Force groups. Even before the Clone Wars broke out they tried to exterminate the jensaarai another force-sensitive group that broke away from the main line Jedi Order and as far as the public were aware when the Jedi and Sith always fought as far as they were concerned it was the Jedi trying to eliminate competition and in the Star Wars Galaxy every major conflict that has happened within it is largely responsible by the Jedi. They indirectly made the Sith order by banishing members from their order during the second or third schism which inevitably led to the great hyperspace War and at the end of the great hyperspace War the Jedi try to exterminate the entire Sith species so there you have it right there the oso Pier & Noble Jedi taking part in plant level genocide against an entire race that was already defeated and I've said this before the Jedi are incredibly hypocritical and they're too stupid and blind to see it he'll they serve 8 fading and extraordinary corrupt government that should have been laid low thousands of years ago all they're doing is protecting a rotting carcass writhing with maggots within its belly The Dread I don't care about the common everyday people they are completely and utterly out of touch with the common masses let's take this for a small example if you were living on a planet within the Star Wars Galaxies would you really want bunch of out of touch monks to tell you how to live your life while they serve corrupt and greedy politicians and the Jedi are more than content to allow the Republic to exploit the mid and outer rim even during the last few years of the Dark Brotherhood under the Sith Lord kaan or however you say his damn name the texting order that Darth Bane was originally join in during that war do you want to know why so many people flocked to the banners of the Sith and always will people in the outer rim Works sick of the Republic exploiting them and given them nothing in return here's a prime example the planet of jabiim.
The leader of the Nationalist elements on that plan that sided with the CIS stated when I plagued his planet the Jedi in the Republic did nothing when slavers and Pirates attacked is planet the Jedi ever public yet again did absolutely nothing it's only when they seceded and allowed the separatist to start using the mineral resources on the plant that the Jedi in Republic finally care not for the people you should understand the for the resources the Republic is sick indicate with corruption it had no right to exist it was dying Relic from an age long past. And the Jedi had no right to exist either every major problem has happened within the sores Universe has been directly caused by the Jedi they're the source of all its ills and strife

Ultimately, their teachings blind them to the insidious evil of the Sith every time, until it's too late. And when the sliver of Light triumphs over the established Dark, the lessons are lost or forgotten, and it all happens again.
Only a handful of Sentients knew how to stop it, but didn't. They were generals.

This is a very intriguing story of the loss Yoda had to deal with individually. Other than the loss of his apprentice Dooku. It is something's we don't see of Yoda often. The fall of his friend ironically mirrors the fall of his previous apprentice. It must have been difficult and painful for Yoda to ultimately realise the path Alaric took was also similar to Dooku's path.

Hello There Grand Master Lore Master
This was absolutely stunning. I've loved many stories from the original EU and I still regard many of them as canon for myself in my personal head canon. I especially love stories when we see examples of just how corrupt the Republic truly was at the time. This is probably one of the best I've ever seen and I'm proud to regard it as canon for myself. I always knew that Yoda and the rest of the Jedi were blind to how truly corrupt the Republic was and how it was beyond repair but to see him Yoda having to do something like this was just so intense. It simply baffles the mind to see how this heartbreaking moment in Yoda's life was not even enough to convince him to realise that the Republic was but a sham and nothing from what it used to be from the principles it was founded on. It also didn't even convince him to stop sending younglings and padawans into battle and become desperate to fight rather than use diplomacy first. I love King Alaric. I've never seen him before and already, I love his character. I love how he comes to understand the state of the Republic and how it had affected a member of his own family. Turning him into a corrupt politician. I also love his love for nature and plants. I juts shows that he has a purity of life and can see that in other beings as well. This, I believe is what helped him to realise the corruption in the Republic. Something that Yoda could never do until it was too late.
Thanks for the great new video Grand Master Lore Master and may the Force be with you.

And people ask why Star Wars is going to shit !? It's because Disney still hasn't made a comic that comes close to this level of detail. I'm not gonna lie and take off my Legends Diehard helm for a second and say that I genuinely liked the Marvel Vader comics. But the only reason that is so, is because it could easily be integrated into Legends. Lord Mommin would make a great addition to the vague latter half history of the Sith during the New Sith Wars. But what I don't understand is how they can make their own wonky or disturbing tales and it's deemed believable and good while any of these casuals that date stray two pages deep in a Legends comic or novel immediately be like "That's so unrealistic" or "Wow, who made this, a 8 year old" ? It really pisses me off. All these stories coulda kept the franchise alive for decades to come because IMO, the amount of trilogies and animated/live actions shows they coulda produced was innumerable 😤😤😤

this is just one reason I LOVE the prequel era. yes the OG had great story telling, but it was mostly black and white, most imperials were bad and most Rebels were good, Palpatine only had control of one side and so could not always counter the rebels. but in the Prequels, it was mostly grays. the Republic and Jedi were largely seen as the good guys and CIS and Sith as the bad guys, but we knew something almost none else in universe knew, Sidious was manipulating both sides. a few times things happened that he couldn't control, but you saw the strokes he made towards his ultimate goal, and knew that all the civilians, resources, clones, and Jedi that were wasted or died, all these thousands of heroic sacrifices and pointless deaths, were all leading to Sidious's rise to power as emperor, you watch the Clone Wars and read the stories and watch the movies, and you get moved by all these great moments of heroism and lies and manipulations, only to remember it was all for nothing. THAT is why I love the Prequels, George may not have been good enough to make his vision into a masterpiece, but he was good enough to captivate our imagination with these films, and told a story that if you look at it together you can see the brilliant strokes he was TRYING to make. and you realize he had a great vision, just didn't execute it well. but let's face it, we all love the prequels more then the shit fest that is the Last Jedi which doesn't connect with Ep 7 as a trilogy together and ruined the future stories of our favorite Scifi series.

This really shows how tragic Yoda's life was in some aspects. It can be lonely living so long when few beings & species' lifespans are comparable to yours. That can easily become an existential crisis.
How many friends & students has Yoda outlived? Worse, he experienced that tearjerker moment (for audiences, that is) in *RotS* when generations of Jedi he'd trained were wiped out by Order 66.
Imagine sensing the life forces of perhaps hundreds or more people you'd helped raise & mentor from all across the galaxy. You knew every one of these individuals, invested in them, believed in them.
You saw all their potential and the good or bad they could bring to others. Now, imagine feeling an unfathomable heartache as you sense all those lives being snuffed out while you stand helpless.
Even with centuries of power & knowledge, you can't save any of them. But this King was special, for he was one of the few who'd known Yoda long enough to understand him on a deeper level.
They related to each other in ways only such ancient beings could. I suppose the only solace was that, in the end, Yoda entrusted everything to Luke before rejoining at least some old friends in The Force.

If it wasnt for the intercession of the Sith, the Republic probably would have been forced to let the separatists go. The Jedi only got involved because they knew a Sith Lord was controlling the CIS, and both sides were radicalized by Dooku and Palpatines actions. They basically sabotaged any chance of a peaceful resolution at every turn, so while I'm not really pro republic, there is some context that must be considered.

The Seperatists were a front. They had their own senate but the senators weren’t truly in power. The corporations and the sith who controlled them were the ones in power, but the members didn’t all realize this, thinking that this would be a better, less corrupt version of the republic. He should’ve been a neutral system instead of joining a rival state to the republic, but he didn’t because he wanted to make a positive change for his people instead of hiding. He feared republic corruption but was unaware that, ironically, the CIS that markets itself as a less corrupt alternative to the republic is actually much more corrupt and evil. So he stuck with his belief and that’s honourable, and he would’ve been right if the Confederacy of Independent Systems was honest and good, but he was instead tricked by Dooku like thousands more. He thought the separatists were better than the republic, but if they were then they would have sent troops to defend his planet. He was misinformed like so many others. But he did his best and stayed true to himself. It’s truly a tragedy.

Why'd you drop Star wars theory?

It just wasn't the same. When I first started he was reviewing a bunch of comics which I mean sure he still does but it's not as much as he used to do, instead now he just does these unboxings and does what every other UA-camr does. I loved his channel because it was diverse it was different. Now it just feels like pandering. Now don't get me wrong I know he's been working on the Vader fan film and that takes money so I get his reasoning for it. And maybe there just hasn't been a lot of comics coming out for him to do, but as for right now I'm just tuned out.

this would make a wonderful what if scenario if Master Yoda actually joined his longtime best friend on with the Confederates ! How many of the Jedi Order would join him? Ruining the emperor's plans has well XP

Bringing emotionally compromised young people in a volatile political environment in the hopes that they will do the right thing, come to terms with their loss and emotions, and learn some lessons.
Yoda was not a very wise man.

I mean it's basically what we've always done too. There's actually a really deep criticism of war as an institution in the show perhaps without realizing it. The Jedi effectively raise child soldiers
Even with that aside we basically do to. The only thing separating an 18 year old legal adult in a conflict from a 15 year old illegally enlisted (both these scenarios existed in both world wars) is nothing more than a legal distinction. The maturity level of both groups is so similar there might as well be no distinction. And I suppose the last lesson life, the show, and just about all media portraying or documenting war can teach us is that beyond the polished veneer of military glory on the grand scale there's nothing but a ruinous grotesque mockery of everything good. No one wins in war, you merely survive to linger on with the horror of what was lost to make it happen.
