I was ready to ask for this for my bday and luckily I stumbled upon your review which mentions the 50 dollar subscription fee ( if you want access to all the features) in addition to the actual alarm clock. Looks like I’ll have to think of something else for my bday. Thank you for such a straightforward, informative and honest review.
I think the $50 per year subscription is obnoxious. Agree that society has been incredibly duped if we think we need to spend $50/year on our clock. Also, as someone who meditates, those don’t sound like any meditations I would ever want to use. Do you want your meditations from a clock company? Or a company that specializes in meditation.
the $50 fee is only if your get the premium version of that app, right? And that gives you the mediation stuff? Im asking because aint no way im spending that much for some mid meditatios lmao. But i do like the sunrise feature, so if i can use that without paying the subscription then im happy.
@@sarasuarez5529 yes i just purchased mine. the $50 subscription is optional and you get the meditation and more sound variations. without subscription you get ~6 different sound options and ~5 different sunrise options. i will not be subscribing, but keeping the basic version. i definitely think the non subscription version is worth it!
Plus we have had to replace it 2 from the manufacturer… bad hardware. The subscription for the different sounds change based on the version of the model even though it looks the same.
Interesting; seems like a lot of the "bedtime routine" features can be found elsewhere with self-discipline. I have the Philips wake-up light, which is like a "dumb" version, also ~$130 but no subscription cost. I don't actually wake up to the light, but it's gentler on my eyes when I do, and the gradual alarm is gentler to my ears.
for the alarm part, this is what i would recommend. point it toward your face, of course, and then set the light timer to five or ten minutes before the sound goes off. i wouldn't go for all that before bed meditation stuff either.
I was just about to purchase this alarm clock; but when I heard the word "subscription" I immediately changed my mind. $130 PLUS the subscription fee is a bit much for a clock, IMO. Thank you for the honest review!
So you don't fancy a lease BMW or Merc where you have to pay a subscription for relatively basic features available on various vehicles for the last two decades at least?! Same here 😂
One other thing that bothers me is that if you add multiple options to your sleep routine (you can have 5 max) For each one you choose the sound scape and the light) So what ends up happening is that if you pick sunset you end up with it sunsetting 5 times, one for each soundscape which feels kinda weird, like I want 5 soundscapes going on for X amount of time, and one sunset while my soundscapes are playing.
I wish you didn’t have your huge bright lamp on, right behind the alarm. It makes it hard to see how much light/the color of the light the Hatch gives off.
excellent review thanks very much! I really just wanted a second sound machine so based on you review of this one I decided to buy another Gen1 hatch, I think this one would have driven me crazy :))
Hello Sarah I have a Dekala Arches Sunrise Alarm clock with sound mahine wireless charger ambinet lamp, Can I send to you and get your valuable suggestions ?
That’s definitely true! Although I think the point of the sunrise alarm is to wake you up gradually vs the alarm. If you started it when the alarm was supposed to go off, you might end up waking up later than you want.
Hi! You can still use basic features without the membership. Here is according to their website “Hatch Sleep Membership gives you full access to an exclusive library of sleep stories, meditations, and more. Your Hatch device and Hatch Sleep app can still be used to access a basic library of white noise and soothing sounds without a membership. “
You're very pretty, love the nail colors. If you have room in that bed I'd be willing to wake up 5 mins before this thing goes off and unplug it......so you can sleep more. Maybe throw it out the window a few times to "teach it" Just a thought
So now human beings need a subscription to sleep. Lord help us. lol I heard somewhere many years ago that most people die in the morning and some professor or doctor did a study that attributed alarm clock as the cause so I stopped using alarm clocks in my 20's and still don't.
I found the review frustrating… I was waiting for an actual waking up where the all the lights in your room were off and you could watch it rise… you know, the sole purpose of it. The editing just gave me pure anxiety waiting for it to get to the product
The fact that I’ve watched about 5 videos before this one and not one of them mentioned a subscription is so frustrating.
Thank youuuu
Yeah it is crazy right? You pay so much money to get another subscription
Exactly! ❤️

There’s not a video online where it shows the device illuminating a dark room. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

They sell the hatch two on Amazon for £450, it is absolutely insane that they think it is worth that much, I think it is cheaper in the states.

It wasn’t a thorough review. A lot of people say you can use it without the subscription.
love people who say the truth🙂

DO you have to tape for the next step in a routine or can set timers for each and then it'll auto shut off?
I bought this alarm and have to agree with pretty much everythin she said

Thanks for feedback Ann :) I’ll keep this in mind if I make any follow ups.
It has potential but there is a lot of room for improvement. For starters add automatic sleep routine instead of remembering to press the button!

Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful 😊

Purchased...thank you!
Great review.
Change the sunrise to coincide with your alarm. Critiquing that the sunrise happened before your alarm is a non issue.

So if you don't purchase the subscription this wont work? Or can you still use it with out the subscription?l

Which / how many of the sound scapes are free? I can’t find this info anywhere 😭
Great review, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I'm glad I found your channel 🥰
I have my alarm set for 5:15 a.m., but what button do I press to snooze the alarm?
The top of the clock.
can you please turn your lamp off to see the affect of it :)
I def want to try this thank you for your review! Does the link no longer work? I click it and sends me to the normal page with no discount :/
Thanks for letting me know! I think it was a January-only promotion, so I just updated it for February :)
@@MissSarahEK Thanks so much!'
