Lauko was so under appreciated, yeah he wasn’t the best goal scorer but he was a great passer and played with grit and heart every time he was out there. This trade doesn’t make sense to me at all and probably never will
Did you see how angry Neely was with 1st round pick. Utah stole the player they wanted! Management is horrible. Anyone remember 2015 draft picks. Never recovered from that. Belichick drafts better than Sweeney!
Stamkos and Lindholm. That'd solve the center problem. Of course it wouldn't leave anything for Sweeney's natural inclination to spend a crapload on bottom pair D.
I don't think there's anything shocking about moving on from Lauko. With the addition of Kastelic with Boqvist in the system if he's qualified Lauko basically doesn't have a place. Those other guys are centers so more versatile and Boqvist and Beecher both have more upside. You also have a bunch of guys in Providence that could potentially fill the role if necessary. Kuntar brings pretty much everything Lauko brings. What I don't get is bringing Lettieri back in the deal. You already have Brown signed for another year. You already have a depth 4th liner with experience who's going to spend most of the year in Providence as a mentor. Why bring in another? I'd have rather seen them get another pick back even if it was a 5th-7th rounder.
I believe Sweeney has something uo his sleeve. Even Lauko he didn't get playing time so Sweeney had to trade him away get another player n draft pick . So not bad. Sweeney I think trying to make room if he wants to resign Heinen. So who knows what he's trying to do. Maybe Sweeney will sign some players big physically kills penalty for cheap never know.
@@luisanjos4250 I mean that's factually not true. You don't have to trade a player you have the rights too. They choose to trade the player and it was probably in Lauko's best interest but I don't think this benefitted the team at all. To this point you've saved 1.2m in cap from the couple of trades. Still haven't qualified Boqvist. Still haven't signed Swayman. Still haven't extended Heinen.
I like Lauko. However, I believe the Bruins are going bigger on that 4th line and still filling in the rest. So, MIN might well be that new scenario that you're pointing at. Obviously, the B's wanted that Vermont defenseman. Personally, I like to see these little trade-ups as they typically imply that they've got strategy aimed at this one or that one...and Groenewold is one of them. Good on him.
So far, I don't see how the team has improved. It looks about the same, perhaps even worse due to aging Marchand and Pasta. Stamkos was a whopping -21 this past year. He wouldn't add much to the win column. A rather disappointing off-season.
Stamkos numbers will drop way down. In Tampa he played with the best passer in the league. No one close to that on Boston. DeBrusk may have just as good numbers next year wherever he lands. 3 picks in the first round in 15 and mow all gone and only 1 NHL player and now he is gone..........Sad
Bruins had good draft in my opinion!? They got some good intriguing prospects who could have huge upsides if they pan out!? I really can't wait til noontime tomorrow when free agency starts!? Hopefully the Bruins will be very active and will go grab some of the best players available!? A #1 center has gotta be a top priority day 1 if think!? It'd be nice if they could snag Rienhart, Elias Lindholm, Stamkos or another great center to fill that #1 center spot!? Rienhart and Lindholm would probably be the best centers available!? I guess we'll find out tomorrow probably!? I hope they go get great guys to fill their needs!?
Lauko asked to be traded three times and wanted to go where he has a chance to be a regular. As for Stamkos, I think he re-signs with TB, they traded Sergachev and Jeannot and cleared out a lot of cap space.
All of the reports are indicating that post making the space Tampa hasn't called. Most believe the freeing of cap was more to make room for a Hedman extension.
hey wow sweeney gets an other bottom 6 forward that will play in the AHL. Letteri was a free agent and he went to minnesota, he could have stayed with boston but he went some where else.. just one more of sweeneys wasted players just like debust
The ullmark trade was unnecessary, and this one feels pointless. Like sweeney did it just to do it. How many freaking bottom 6 players do we need? As of right now, we are worse than we were last year.
I mean we switched one bottom six for another. Your post makes it out like we added. That's not the case. We switched one for another and moved up slightly in the draft. The point was moving up slightly in the draft to make sure they got the guy they wanted. The Ullmark comment I agree on. I don't think it make sense to move Ullmark before you had a reason too. If you signed free agents and needed to free the cap space sure. Or if it was towards the 1c you need of course. But moving him to get a late 1st round pick while taking on another teams cap dump made no sense to me.
@@LogjammerDbaggagecling-qr5ds I don't know what you mean by that. They did. They were targeting Elliott Groenewold and moved up specifically because they didn't think he'd remain on the board if they didn't. They did get the guy they wanted.
Letourneau could be along the path of a Tage t but there will never be another Neely( my son's name Cam) you didn't want to piss him off in a game cuz he score 2-3 goals that game and kick the crap out of all your tough players

Bruins need to get bigger and tougher. All the smaller players need to go.
