Thanks for the tear down video! It would be great if you guys could incorporate amplifier power testing into your videos. This is incredibly easy to do with a multimeter. I have tested a KW181 amp module and have seen roughly 70-80v running 40-60hz sine wave from a signal generator. These numbers are at the point the amp modules limiters are engaging and the clip led is coming on. You can make this test without the woofer connected. This would be very relevant info, as the claimed power output has skyrocketed from the KW181’s specs. Of course, the amp could be capable of the claimed output, but in reality limited to a number that the driver can actually handle. Point being, a 18TBX100 will never handle anywhere near 2000w RMS.

Yeah, that is some bad information with calling the box design a folded horn. Maybe take some time to research what a folded horn is as there is nothing that could remotely put that box in that category. Also, the video does not depict the port design you speak of at all. That would have been great info in the video! Sorry to sound negative, and I really do appreciate the time, effort, and enthusiasm you have put into these videos. Keep it up.
Great review! Love the fact that you open the box and discuss the internals and driver. Any chance you guys are going to do a Turbosound IQ18B review some time? The Turbosound IQ's are often regarded as the cheaper alternative based on the QSC K-series.
From what I've heard from others is that they don't have the low frequency response that I'm looking for like the QSC KS118, but the iq18's are loud and hit hard. I listened to 4 of them at a concert and an entire light fixture fell from the ceiling.
@@rsgr3963 yes, and the ceiling is about 30 feet high. Thankfully this happened after the concert while most of the people were near or already out the exit door but the music was blasting as folks were leaving, good thing it happened then because the concert was sold out and there wasn’t even much standing room so it would have hit someone because it only smashed the ground about 6 feet away from 2 people. The seating was probably the only thing that kept the splatter from hitting them. Glad you asked, cause I seen the iq18 are running around $900 dollars now, I now want a Turbosound iq18 for that price 😂

to bad that mike was clipping. but i've heard this one in person at a concert with over 20 of them in a small theater. that bass guitar sounded so bad ass with them. the sound tech said it was the band's new sound rig. it was all qsc amps and pa speakers and that rig sounded just as good as crown's and jbl's more expensive counterparts. it did an excellent job, even though it was just a smaller venue.

No, dont get faital pro or even most PA subwoofers are not intended for home theater use unless you buy just the driver and build your own enclosure tuned to a much lower frequency than what most PA subs are built to.

I'd be curious to see this against the Turbosound Milan M18B. I own a pair of them and they were better than the EV ETX 18 powered subs. I sent the EVs back and got the Turbosounds. They hit incredibly well. I was pretty shocked with their performance, even outdoors. Just curious how it would stack up. I can't believe these used to sell for 500, I got them at 700 a pair, well worth the money to me. They recently went up to 800, but even at 800, I still think they will whoop anything in that price range.

k12.2 please 🙌🏻
Hey man can you do a video on RCF sub
We are trying, money is tight especially during this quarantine
I'd be curious to see this against the Turbosound Milan M18B. I own a pair of them and they were better than the EV ETX 18 powered subs. I sent the EVs back and got the Turbosounds. They hit incredibly well. I was pretty shocked with their performance, even outdoors. Just curious how it would stack up. I can't believe these used to sell for 500, I got them at 700 a pair, well worth the money to me. They recently went up to 800, but even at 800, I still think they will whoop anything in that price range.
I wonder about the iQ18
@@MobilediscowirralCoUk I've heard the IQ 18. They work really well too. Definitely a step up from the M18Bs. But they have a higher price as well. 1,100 currently on sweetwater.
Hey I'm hoping you are still around and will reply as my question is would a Mackie thump 15 v4 keep up with this sub it hits 127db peak is rated 650rms and 1300w peak need to know it's also for a personal system as at first I'm getting
Yes it will sound fine. I had seismic audio 15’s before I bought my RCF tops they were 350 rms that sounded great with the KS118
How would you rate this against a Yamaha dxs18xlf? I own one and it consistently blows me away. I've also consistently heard that it's best in class, beating subs like the JBL vrx918sp and ev etx18. Would love to see how the qsc compares with it
i wanna buy 4 subs, actually own 6 dxs18 and want to add some bass reflex to the mix, not sure if pull the trigger in those dxs18xlf or this qsc ks118 :( i cant compare them in person, so it will be a blind buy based in others experience
Good work guys! I have the older KW118 and it pounds! I can only imagine how this would sound in my DJ setup. I would love to see you get your hands on a QSC K12.2 and take that apart!
We just might! After hearing the insanity of the ks118 we may have to venture over to their top speakers
Is it relly RCF driver ?? Any idea which model ??
It's B&C TBX100
