yorkville all day built like a tank. but give QSC props to get that amount of power from a smaller enclosure is really impressive.
The horn loaded Yorkville will throw the bass much farther then the front loaded QSC.
It all depends on the type of venue you are playing. For weddings and receptions where you want the sound focused on the dance floor and not the entire venue then go for the QSC. For raves or live sound you may opt for the Yorkville to push the sound through out the entire venue.

I've been using a pair Yorkville Paraline PS1 (double 12 sub...1400 watts rms). Very tight, very controlled wave. I have gotten tons of compliments on them over the last seven years. Best subs I've ever owned. Very compact design. 120lbs. On Casters. Very easy to move. Scalable. I stack my pair and keep them in from of the DJ Booth and my Yorkville Parasource (power 12s) tops are run in stereo set up on stands to left and right of the DJ table....the wider apart they are, the better. (20 ft optimal). Super clear. Wicked punchy, deep, controlled wave from those subs. It feels wonderful. System EQd using a dbx driverack PA2. And then tweaked to my personal liking, Very Loud. Very Clear. Easy on the ears. Very Professional sounding rig.
do these hit harder than a 15 inch sub?? I am super intrigued but hesitant to buy due to how old the tech is and if I can justify the volume and punchiness. Do they keep up with today's subs?
I just did an out door event with FOUR Yorkville ESP 18p, Each sub level set around bout 1:00 Mode was set to smooth left the HI fREG to t 100 .and mannnnnnn OMG we shook that whole park NO CAP!
I padded mines with 3/4” sponge inside, the bass((( is so much deeper 👉😫👈oh man.

I’ve been a customer of these guys for years. When it was canal Hi-Fi. Bought my first JR.Earthquakes there. Love these guys. They are Super Knowledgeable. 👍👍👍
I had one yorkville and that exact same qsc, unfortunately the yorkville blow up in the middle of the event the qsc saved us had no problem going 12 hours straight and it was powerful too, it was very close to the yorkville in power, the other think is the qsc could fit in any smaller car, for the yorkville you will need a truck or mini van, and they are a lot heavier too, don’t get me wrong we probably got a lemon inside the yorkville this time, if you own a club I probably would have a couple of 21” yorkville subs, but if your a Mobil dj than you will be very pleased with the qsc for sure.

The yorkville es18p sub with a jbl srx815p top is by far the best setup I ever used. Very Loud and crystal clear.
definitely thinking about getting that 815p. I have a pair of old QSC HPR152i I used them as a mid with k8.2 recently- crazy

Sin duda el subwoofer YorkVille es superior por el volumen que le permite la caja. Las prestaciones de QSC lo hacen práctico y manejable.
Tengo ambos y sin duda prefiero Yorkville.
So me recomiendas el Yorkville . No me decido por cual de estos dos comprar soy dj y sonorizo grupos tengo ev pero ya quiero acrualizsrme

What if you insulate the Yorkville with 3/4” padded foam, Will it make the sound better, deeper ?

The Yorkville is not "really" a horn loaded subwoofer. It is a Front Loaded subwoofer with it's port loaded into a small horn. The 18 inch woofer is not loaded into a horn. Just it's Port. That's important to know.
how does the difference of the two impact the sound?
@@djShuttlenyc Honestly a part of sound in general is perception. The best thing to do is demo a set of each and see which sounds best to you.

The first K-series without the digital display on the back are awesome speakers, great work horses. No issues at all. They never die, they are simple to use, they are loud enough and protect themselves if you try to push them too hard. So after 10 years they are still in great condition!

The bigger box is aways boomier but the smaller box will give a tighter more define bass,The yorkville is a good choice for music like hip hop ...dance reggae ton... The qsc for music recorded with live instruments..jazz..salsa ..rock..Reggae...and classical music.

like OP said, the yorkville's are one note wonders. i never liked their sound since the first time i heard them in the late 80s or early 90s. the funny thing is that they sound exactly the same now as they did back then -- just boomy bass

i own a pair of the es18p's and the only issue i have with them is transporting due to their size, but i find it hard to believe the QSC hit "harder" than it 🤔
The qsc is not that great. It shuts off when you barely start to feel the chest bump.
Qsc will never hit harder den these Es18p…u can never go wrong with these yorkville plus durability is a lot better…
You should have get the 15” Yorkville,easy to transport, powerful the same as the 18” too.

I like Yorkville great quality maybe not as efficient but very tuff bullet proof... then again VS EV ETX I got my bucks on EV ETX... they are great.

@dantonliam alot of guys do side by side comparation but very few give real data. the video cam mic is use less, seen guys use SMART and other tools yo show if their advertise number are real.
I can't get a straight answer. I am looking for powered speakers and subwoofers for my DJ setup. the question I have is, For small pubs and bars, would it be better to have 2-12" subs, or 1-18" subwoofer. I'm thinking 150 people or less and I'd believe around 50-60 average
It all depends on how you want to bring in your Sub speaker with the transportation if is easier with an 18in Sub instead of two of 12in Sub. More convenience of space to your garage, home, car, or venues power situation. Some Sub-speakers have castor wheels and some don't have any at all. Weight is another thing if you want to carry heavy or light.
@@CanalSoundandLight thanx for the info. I went with Harbinger 12" tops and the 18" sub combo as it was a really good deal and I am just getting started. the sub comes with casters.

I have both and the Yorkville definitely gives you More bass Kills the QSC.

@@erickmunoz143 Brother 1 LS801p (LEGACY/CARPETED) will give any dual SRX a run for its money.
I had both and Yorkville didn't kick as clear as Qsc. I Love Salsa and when I went to get my speaker the guy play American Music. Then I asked him to play a salsa song Called "El Malo" by Roberto Blades uffff. All the subwoofer didn't sound about I was looking for Only QSC!!!✌💪

Had the Yorkville...used it twice but sold it, the darn thing is quite heavy...bought the KS118 instead which i can handle all by myself.

I did the same damn thing sold mines and get the QSCks118, yorkville are loud but if you're a one man band I won't recommend them if you can't bench approximately 137lbs
Yorkville for outdoor, reliability and ling throw. Plus, canadian made subwoofer. This will outlast any Chinese made products like QSC, Mackie, and mid-level JBL's.
I've been watching different video's of speakers and subs throughout the years. To hear the best potential of bass loudness, how come you set the gains to 0.. All the companies have way different default settings and are all totally different sounding from the very beginning. To see which one is better, set it the way you like them to be and then crank it up.. Then make a decision.

Even in the video as soon as hey presse on the power on it pumped like crazy for 2 seconds and went straight to clipping.
Qsc are great.

I have a QSC KW181 and had a Yorkville LS801P. I wouldn’t say it was indestructible. It died in December, unable to get a new amp for it since then. QSC still alive and kicking. However, the Yorkville definitely has more power, it’s a beast, I loved it! They are just 2 different kind of subs. One is power and not very defined and the QSC is less powerful but clearer and more defined low end. With that said, I now need another Yorkville haha
