    I've heard the exact model subwoofers playing bass in person, and they sound pretty good. Using few of them together can shake a medium sized auditorium and rattle some aluminum lights and air conditioner vents.

      I once worked with a small SOS operator in San Diego that had 20 of these. 8 in quad stacks in stereo really do any amazing job considering this is just a simple DSP controlled box. The woofer is really the special sauce. They get amazing low end reproduction while still maintaining musicality.

    I own a pair of these and they work wonderfully in each situation our band has used them. We have the K12 top cabinets and it’s a great PA system. Outdoor or indoor, most venues, has plenty of power to provide concert level audio. For larger shows, I am sure you could double or triple them up, but linear arrays may be a better choice.

    4" voil coil even on ks118 thats why they are great for using outdoor Well at least in that price range and compare to others
    But when it comes to true power and clarity I can't think of anything else besides Danley speakers yes those are huge and expensive but they do the job

If Guitar Center has that QSC 18 inch subwoofer in the video, i'm gonna sound test it and hopefully buy it :D

    3:03 It might be softer from the front, actually (that really didn't sound that great, did it?! Oh, well...). Speakers tend to have less front excursion than back excursion, to prevent the coil from coming out of the gap, as that would most definetely damage the speaker permanently.

    I want QSC to start delving into consumer audio someday. For example a portable stereo Bluetooth speaker with 2 inch tectonic BMR drivers, tuned oval passive radiators to extend the low, and DSP to make the already amazing little drivers sound even better.

    • @davidperry4013
      @davidperry4013 5 років тому +1

      Mike Lachendro it’s a speaker for personal listening and it’s only going to be up to a few feet away from the listener. Just 20 watts of total RMS power is enough to make your restroom as loud as a rock concert when you are taking a shower. A larger version with 3.5 inch BMR drivers would be sell really good too.

    I had the SVS sp 16 Ultra! I first set it up and turned it on at its default settings I was underwhelmed to say the least!
    So I started going through all the settings and configurations between the sub and my receiver, still not impressed it moved a lot pushed a whole lot of air!
    No sound to back any of the movement up and when it did hit the low frequencies all it really did was just shake the hell out of the house!
    I called us vs they told me I should do the sub crawl I tried that too! to make a long story short there was only one spot that the subwoofer performed perfectly and it was in the corner of my room face in the wall! no thank you I'm not going to spend 3 Grand on a subwoofer to look at so I returned it

    • @2DudesAudio
      @2DudesAudio  4 роки тому +1

      Sub crawl is a necessity for proper subwoofer setup! If one does not have proper room eq software to point it out.

    • @truthful3777
      @truthful3777 2 роки тому

      I think your room is to small for the subwoofer. Bare in mind sub bass wavelength is long and your room might not accommodate the lower octave. You need a bigger hall to hear a good bass sound.

      Most modern subs have fuse in them. Your must be blown. Same happened with JBL EON one pro. I don't know about your gear.
      I always recommend everyone to get passive speakers over active. As it's easy to troubleshoot. Active are portable, less hustle but they are more prone to failure.

      That’s because although it might be a Celestion driver, it’s custom made for the QSC products, and has a QSC part number. I’d bet anything you can’t get this exact part directly from Celestion, because although they are made in the Celestion factory, they are made to QSC specs to work best with QSC speaker boxes and amplifiers.

    What a pain to watch a complete idiot demounting a driver when the speaker is on it’s side, instead of laying the speaker on it’s back! Then sliding it on the top of the kabinet, with the risk of causing scratches... Then put a lot of power trough a driver that is in free air, with no baffle at all, which can be very stressfull for the driver, and cause damage. And for what reason?? Just plain dumb

    Why are home audio subs built like trash and cost a fortune while car audio subs are 10x better at a fraction of the price. This guy calls that a huge motor lol.

    • @josealfredfernandes
      @josealfredfernandes 3 роки тому +1

      See, for home audio, no company will ever offer efficiency in the hands of a customer. Incase that happened, that model will discontinue soon. Eg: Sony shake 100D, 99, X70D, X7D 66D etc LG CK99, CM9960, CM9950, CM9940, OL100, OK99 etc. You as consumer can't have anything above 90db spl.
      Car audio subs have huge motors but they lack efficiency. You can't place that in a stadium. You won't get 160+dB SPL which you get in your car. Professional Audio subs are very efficient! Just 4x dual 10s, 10000+ sq ft area covered! Eg: Bose F1 system 133+3+3+3db spl. Just 2x Danley J5 4051 caleb + 8x Danley TH812 subs, entire stadium covered 160+dB spl.
