My thoughts on Dior Eau Sauvage Extreme. A fragrance I have loved but never reviewed. This is a limited availability fragrance and it's the more current version launched in 2010. It was launched in 1982 originally and updated by Francois Demachy in 2010. have you tried Dior Eau Sauvage Extreme? Are you a fan of the Eau Sauvage line of fragrances?

Great video as always. Early in my fragrance collecting days I considered selling off my collection and just wearing the Eau Sauvage line as my signature scents. I've found too many loves since then but I could have done it and been happy everyday with my SOTD.
I’m not a collector who buys a whole line simply for completeness, I truly only buy what I enjoy smelling. But I own the full line up of the the Eau Sauvage and Fahrenheit line, they’re all that good!

Great video! Eau Sauvage Extreme Concentree' was my signature scent from 1989- 2000 or so. When the Eau Sauvage Extreme Intense was released it took me awhile to warm up to it. I love them both but the concentree' is still my favorite.
Eau Sauvage & eau Sauvage Extrême have been my two signatures since the 90’s, and I still have the old Extrême!

I was always asking myself why nobody talks about this...it smell really good in a classy way, like an aromatic fresh green perfume. Somehow it feels that it works better for the mature crowd.
Hi from London, great review of my three fave scents, well done for picking up the extreme which fortunately is easily available in the uk i had the original in the early 80s and was so pleased when became available again. it just takes me back to that time but obviously due to time i cant remember if any changes? but to my nose very similar and the Parfum version is just perfection and the original so elegant and classic i love and spray all 3 regulary.

I figured that I was going to refresh my memory by re-watching a review that I'd viewed or find an older review that I hadn't seen yet. When I went to like it, I noticed that it only had 2 views and was just posted. I thought, "Wow! What a coincidence!" I apologize if I "let the cat out of the bag." Btw, have you ever ordered from Beauty Encounter? I found a Bassnotes forum post that suggests it was the old Perfume Bay, and that the owner was forced to change the name due to pressure from eBay. I'm not sure how accurate that is.

I have these three ES plus the aftershave and really like them a lot. The og is my favourite but the newest formulations are so weak in longevity and projection. So I bought Xerjoff Fiero that is very similar to ES. The performance of the Xerjoff is much better. So I splash the aftershave ES that is fresher than the edt and finish off with Fiero so I will be a Lemonhead the entire day. 🍋
I love your reviews however if I have your clips on in the background and just listening, I get totally lost! This clip is a fine example of .....This is closer to this than this but this is a stronger version of this but softer than this! and I love this more lol lots of love xx

Great video sir. Could you tell me is parfum 2017ok to be wore in summer nights, around 25 celsius? i'm planning to buy it, because it's unique and nobody here is wearing it. Mostly to use it in spring and fall, but sometime in summer nights too. Thanks upfront
BIG FAN of these previous scents (HATE CD: SAUVAGE) theyre great & easy to wear down here in the tropics had to pick u p the EXTREME - it is new too me & I love those notes found it online fore $115 thanks for a great video JIM from MIAMI BEACH

Fragrancenet has this one and the Parfum every now and then. Got both recently. Both are great.
Dear Sebastian, I have tried the eau sauvage parfum really appreciate how good it is. But I haven't tried the extreme version but the notes are really appealing like patchouli and vetiver. Cheers
I've a eau sauvage extrême 2012. So great fragrance, potent and unique while the reformulated eau sauvage edt is a bit soft and plain.
Sébastien what did you get out of this fragrance in terms of projection and longevity?

Great review. Love the Eau Sauvage line. I do recommend that if you are interested in buying to look for the Brown Box version of the Extreme. If it is the Brown Box version then it will have the older pre-IFRA version of Oakmoss. Enjoy!

Great video ,in the early 80 ties a bar man on a ship was wearing the ( White bottle you have there ) I asked him and he said I could buy it on the ship which I did and I loved it .After the bottle was empty I went to a shop and the label said HOMME and the one I had said MAN , well it smelt nothing like the one from the ship and have never been able to find it ever since ,any idea about the MAN version ,thank for your help

@@gooddaymate1171 smell of eau sauvage edt is so good, like it bring me to the stream in jungle, so comfortable, fresh, but it just exists on my skin in 4 hours or less
0:35 If you're talking Fraicheur Cuir it was released late 00's .,and not in the late 80's . I really like it.Bought 3 bottles in 09 and still have 1.5 bottles left.

Back in the 90s, a friend who worked at the duty-free shops gave me a tester bottle of the Extreme version. Made the mistake of wearing it to the office as an everyday scent during the summer. Nobody complained around me but didn't get any compliments either. Then later on I found a Cuir version at a perfume outlet. I think I'd prefer the Cuir version slightly over the regular Eau Sauvage.
I really like the parfum version of 2017, it's a perfect scent for a gentleman.
Andjelkovic Jasmin Me too ! Previous version was too overwhelming and I couldn’t stand much the very prominent myrrh note. This 2017 edition is just PERFECT ! and so CLASSY !

I prefer the 2017 version. Much more wearable and closer to the original. The 2012 is almost like a stand alone fragrance. Very potent fragrance, only suited for winter imo

Goes to show you're about a year ahead of me, lol, just last week it was Iconic scents (sotd's) and, for son's their most recent/popular flankers. Last Friday I got to try ESE 2010 version and, for an SOTN I tried ES Parfum 2017 also for first time. As far as the Original Extreme EDT from the late 80's (EDTConcentrèe) I could not source anywhere which perfumer it was. I emailed Dior Beauty contact us so if they get back to me I will letcha know. Ihave Eau Sauvage EDT in the big splash bottle and it's enclosed paperwork says it's bottle #23,670 from 1967!! It's still superb. I think the new (2010) Extréme/Intense is a darker more aromatic scent and Parfum (2017) is rounder Fuller fancier and spicier. I wish I could try the Fraicheur Cuir one. I was on the DIOR site past night only the original EDT (with aftershave, wash and deodorant) of ES (NO flankers currently listed). Homme (only new 2020 ones) Homme Cologne remain. No homme intense, original, or Eau. Sport is still there but I have the original and 15mL decant of second Sport so...I'm glad I watch you and knew after Demachy fumbled with the "new" Homme it was time to stock up. I got: Cologne (just in case!), medium Homme EDT, medium Homme Eau for Men, small '10 Extreme EDT and large 2017 Parfum. My collection and my nose thank you for allowing me to get these gems before they are completely gone. You're the Man Sebastian! 👍👏🙌💃😘🔥😎

If I could find it I would buy a few extra bottles myself as it's nowhere to be found. But sometimes they end up at Sephora's as they used to sell them but that's pretty rare nowadays. It would probably just be an accidental find if you can find it. :)

I have Eau Sauvage extreme..it's richer than the original..darker, herbsy...
Parfum 2017 version is overwhelming, it chokes me every time I wear it. So I stopped at the original one and use it as my everyday work scent.
I bought the original eau savage years ago when I got married in 2013.
I just purchased the extreme intense tester, which is also strangely dated to 2013!
Its fantastic!
The opening of the original is there.
Less intense lemon, but its DNA, the heart is there in the extreme.

I'm going to Haiti in March, cross my fingers I hope I can find Eau parfum and homme parfum.
Regarding the initial release date, I bought a spray bottle of Eau Sauvage Extreme at Neiman Marcus in Fort Worth. I was thinking it was 1981. It may have been 1982, but it was no later than that as I moved away from FW in mid-1982. Thanks for the great review and for refreshing my memories of this interesting fragrance.

I have Eau Sauvage and pre-2017 version of Eau Sauvage Parfum and love 'em. However, I have never seen Extreme and I don't trust the eBay bandits, and I certainly don't trust them. I've been to some Duty Free shop here in the US and Canada, but haven't seen Extreme. However, if I ever I get to France one of these days... Cheers!

the eau sauvage cologne is light and more towards the real lemon smell. the other two are a bit of towards the stronger side.

I just bought the Parfume for my husband for his birthday. The original Eau Sauvage was his signature scent when we first met, so it brings back lovely memories to both of us. I thought the parfume would be new way for him to revisit an old favourite. He’s also worn the extreme for a time. I still prefer the original which I often borrowed as I consider it absolutely unisex. Thank you Sebastian for a great review.

I see so many reviews waxing poetic about the main Eau Sauvage bottle yet I can't recall one person I knew in the 1970's wearing it. I certainly didn't. It came out the same year as Aramis (1966), but in the 1970's, Aramis was all the rage. Maybe older gentlemen preferred Eau Sauvage in the 1970's. I practically bathed in Aramis. I had the shampoo, conditioner, cologne and balm from a gift set and *reeked* of Aramis in college!. I'm surprised I didn't buy the aftershave although I made up for that in 2018.

I have so many bottles that I want my friend and his wife to bring back from Europe on their next vacation that I may need to buy them a suitcase!

My dad reeked of Aramis in the 80s but in the 70s Caron Pour Un Homme De Caron, Eau Sauvage, Pierre Cardin and a few others.

I have the EDT. The cologne has a white label compared to the silver label which is on my EDT! :)
As mentioned below I didn't try the cologne as I fear it's quite light.

Is it redundant to have both 2017 parfum and 2010 extreme version
They are definitely different. The extreme is more in line with the original EDT. The Parfum has a creamy amber layer that's not present in the extreme or the EDT. So I don't think it's redundant! :)

I like it but I haven't bought it as it's too light. Could be perfect for ultra hot and humid temps though! :)

I used to have the edc. Absolutely lovely scent, but the performance was non-existent. Bought the parfum the other day (2017) and I absolutely love that one too, masculine, fresh, mature and sexy. Not quite the monster people said the old one was, but we'll see. All in all, a good collection from Dior.
