I have the open port 55. I love the saw and I just finished it. Hasn't even broken in yet! But hopefully it gains a little. I'm planning on porting the original cylinder with a new piston and see how that works but I'll have the one that's in it now just for backup in case I fubar it. Haha.
I have a saw that started life as a 51, that when I took posession had a scored piston and cylinder, that now holds a 55 piston and cylinder (which had a cracked case). Both saws were given to me becuase they were "scrap" :) People are always surprised how well it works because it still says 51 on the recoil cover. Have been debating on playing with the transfers lately.
That 55 looks like it's in great shape! So awesome of your subs to be gifting parts for giveaways! That poulan looks like it'll clean up pretty good aswell😎👍🏻
I love my 98 55 Rancher, pulls a 20” bar well after a muffler mod. Always wanted to get another 55 to modify and compare how much they really wake up after the 028 piston or if it would be better to stock bore it with a base gasket delete as I know marginally about porting. Definitely my favorite saw to run for its power/weight even being 25yrs old and it’s still dead reliable even being 100% original aside from the muffler mod.
Poulan 3300s are nice saws!… got 2 of them. One was a freebie the other cost me $20. Gave them a little fix up, took the baffle out of the mufflers and, they rip!
That's Awesome! Man, I need to catch up. Even open port 55's are a nasty little shit. I didn't know they had a closed.port model. This will be Very interesting!
The later grey top 50’s can except the bigger 55 cylinders to, the 50 specials had the same 45mm open port topends as the 51. The Husky 49 was a partner based saw , clam shell desighn. Good saws though with good power.
I have a 3300 I bought online a few weeks ago. After putting alot of work into a saw that "runs as it should" I think it's running close to good. It pulls chain kinda like torqu-ee.
@@Doc-Cole_Trickle-of-Chainsaws Hi Darin, Sorry about the real late replay. I did pick up the saw. It looks like new and runs great. Only Husky saw I have.
@@AndyH-13 I'm hoping I come across one some day! I've been looking at a scrap yard regularly trying 2 find some treasures. Found a Poulan 2775(just needs ❤ and fuel lines)🤞and a robbed Husq 350 carcass.
That saw has seen less use than my 55 Rancher. It still rings great. Use it to cut up trees for firewood. Wood over 16 inches I fire up the Stihl 461. The 55 can handle it, but the 461 eats big wood like it’s balsa wood.
i got a ms400 a few months back after 35 years of stihl, i wrote an email about my low bar oil output to customer service. they gave me a bs reply. so i updated my 026 saws with a 550xp. u are correct the guys at stihl are a bunch of weirdos!
I like that your back, your videos are part of my lineup. The real TV! Great content. With Humer. Thanks

That’s a clean looking 55. I’m sure you’ll make a good runner out of it.
Good little firewood saw for sure I have a 51. Make sure you check the round rubber seal for the impulse 🔧🔧

I would love to see what you could to the open port 55, to step it up a little. Do a series on it! I bet that would get a lot of views!
Very nice!! Now I am on the hunt for one
I like the counter-vibes, but the aluminum bore/chrome piston 3300 looks interesting.
Hyway has the 46mm windowed piston also.
I got a pooched 55 in in the shed. Might have to pull it apart out of curiosity

You REALLY need to learn how to sharpen that beautiful knife. It doesn’t deserve to be dull!
G’day, I’m going to look at a 55 Air Injection saw tomorrow. Owner wants $120 Aust and looks to be in excellent condition. My first Husqvarna.
Hey Andy, did you get the 55 and if so how did it go?
