It’s difficult to buy cuttlefish online or even in LFS as they need live food. They will die without food in just a couple of days. So one typically buys eggs and then hatches them.
Cephalopods don't live long in the wild either. They hatch mature into adults, reproduce and die, Varies from species to species but life span anywhere between 2-5 years
Thank you Medusa. Care with flamboyant cuttlefish is no different from other species. Just note that they should be fed with salt water shrimps. Feeding fresh water shrimps alone would cause them to lose buoyancy. As sourcing live food was extremely costly, I have set them free when they reached 4 month of age. I’m sorry I am not going to make future episodes on cuttles, but I’m happy to answer any question you have on rearing issues.
Yes, they are conscious like us!
Oh? And how did you come about this information?
@@DanielFCutter by observation, I use my eyes to see and my brain to think, unlike some people!😏

Amazing vid! The are so cute.
Thank you! They were indeed cute when they were little, but less so when they grew up and developed territorial awareness.

How hard are cuddle fish to take care of?
