I think he fulfils a narrative niche in stories that WoW has missed out on so far. Where most characters are either very serious or very silly, he fulfils a more outsider perspective, which is cynical and mocking. Very littlie can affect him so unlike say some Pandaran who criticise the horde and alliance he compliments them while also taking the ever loving piss.

@@099Nitro Well Bolvar doesn't seem to want to get involved in anything outside of Northrend, and really doesn't care about the Alliance or Horde at this point. The Burning Legion isn't around anymore and he doesn't have any other explicit enemies. Dude wants to keep on chilling in his ice crib. No pun intended. At the moment it seems perfectly logical to say that he is neutral in all this. But that is only for right now. I strongly suspect that something is going to pull him into this mess, though.

Very good question, we know that the old gods CANT control undeads, so did they influence her in some other way? Did sylvanas make a deal with them that benefits them both? Or is it someone completly different, it's an exciting time to play the game I just hope they dont mess it up :D
My money's on the old gods some how over powered bwonsamdis voice to vol'jin and planted the seeds to start the war to free the old gold trapped in azeroth
I'm guessing there's another shadowlands entity like Bwasambi causing this. Perhaps far more powerful. Slyvanas either made a deal or is being subtley controlled by it in an effort not to die again. I took her burning of Teldrassil more of an offering of souls than anything. Her comments of saying death crushed her hope was very telling. Maybe she will still get a redeeming arc like Illidan did, after we deal with N'zoth.
But this is Blizzard... I've seen plot twists they bulldozed past for the sake of phat lewtz before...

There is another loa of death I think it's one the sandfury trolls worship I read about it in the second book of the traveler book series

okay I haven't played since Legion ended but if nothing else I love the art at the end, the blood moon behind the temple. If I come back next expansion I might not completely hate leveling through BfA content if the cutscenes look this good.

Remember when one of Sylvanas's quotes was "It's time to even the scales." but now the Loa of death says she's all about going to far and unbalancing the scales. lmao. Still not as big of a 180 as Kael'thas, but still, this writing isn't consistent enough to care about.
it's troubling to me too. Her wanting the Valkire power made perfect sense to me as she has 3, reduced to 2, helping her make more Foresaken, so obviously to increase their numbers and such she needed either their power or the co-operation of the head Valkire... so her motives are entirely for her faction in Legion.
But the direction they're going with this... I mean... you mean to tell me that Vol'jin just listened to any damn Loa and didn't care to figure, oh, I dunno... which one was talking to him? What shaman/Loa speaker doesn't know the Loa they are channeling/speaking with?

You are all forgeting the deal sylvanas made in legion with helya(i think i spelled that wrong) we still dont what the deal was or when it was made since one of them says "remember our deal" so it could be that.
He is clearly lying. He said Sylvanas keeps what she kills, but we saw him raise the undead in previous cutscene even though he claims he is against undead. He is 100% going to end up being a Valkyre alternative for Sylvanas.
Hopefully Bwonsamdi does not end up being a new BBEG because I love his character. Such a great voice actor.

And thus, my primary theory of Bwonsamdi influencing Vol'Jin to name Sylvanas Warchief are thrown out of the window...I was so convinced that the "Loa Spirits" Vol'Jin mentioned was actually Bwonsamdi, because Vol'Jin was moments from death Sylvanas is undead, so I tipped a co relation between the two.

My theory is that Sylvanas somehow opened herself to The Void when she committed suicide, then brought back a piece when she came back. Everything she's doing serves the interests of The Void - they thrive on entropy & chaos and seek to destroy all non-Void life in the universe, which is the whole reason they created the Old Gods to begin with.
There is a book about what happened to her once she commited suicide.
She went to hell, thats why she is paranoid maniac without morals. She would burn entire horde and forsaken to the ground just to be immortal.
But the void wanted Alleria to kill Sylvanas when the three sisters met after legion

At the same time, the Void considers Sylvanas a major threat, and wanted Alleria to kill her before the war even began.

The story line is very questionable but hopefully it will make more sense to us once they dev it a bit better
