This is literally the first time I followed the Orioles in a serious way since EBW defamed and traded Eddie Murray. While I loved Cal Ripken Murray was the heart of the Orioles, the undeniable leader, and it was outrageous that they questioned his work ethic and heart of all things.
The Orioles are going to have to spend a lot of money just to keep these young players such as Henderson & Rutschman as well as others. They are going to be costly. Then you have Corbin Burnes. Every attempt has to be made to resign him & that's going to be extremely expensive. The point is to keep this team together for several years the Orioles are going to have to spend a lot of money. That's why in the case of Santander it might not be wise to try to spend a lot of money trying to resign him, not that he isn't worth it, but with Kjerstad on the team that could answer that question.
Heston, even at a young age appears to be an all-around better stick than Santander. Let Santander walk in 2025 and use that savings for Burnes and others.
They better be careful with Holliday. If they call him up and he struggles agai, not only will he lose a great deal of value but that might damage his confidence
Facts......but if he doesnt get called back up might be a knock on his confidence and if he comes up and does well its a win win....barring injury i dont bring him up till sept at best
yeah but you gotta look from the players perspective too, guys like Mayo who's been toiling in the minor league for years and paid his due.. He's ready for the big league but still not given an opportunity because there's no opening on the roster. If the Orioles don't want to bring him up because they fear it will affect chemistry, that's fine, but he should be traded somewhere else where they can use him and give him a shot.
I dont think talls about holliday should be brought up at all right now. He hasnt shown any signs of improvement, in fact hes gotten a little worse since going back down.
Bring up Mayo, put him at 3rd, Westburg to 2nd and put Mateo on the bench, he has caused enough errors recently and his bat isn't sufficient. Sign Santander and temporarily put Kjersted back down, Bring him back up later when roster expansion happens. A lot of jockeying I know. Leave Holliday alone for another month until his injury heals. McDermott???. Someone will eventually have to be trade bait to get another pitcher. Too much for me to figure out 😂
They need to trade one or both of those two if they want to win a World Series! We need one more dominant pitcher. Kjerstad needs to be an everyday player. Cowhser needs to be the utility outfielder.
@@hidesinlonggrass3229 your right I haven’t but I just think we’re so loaded with prospects that are big league ready now we should keep guys that are still 2 or more years away
Urias, Mateo, Hayes, Mullins, Santander will all be replaced withing the next two yrs. I have a hard time thinking about trading prospects.. Elias was hired from Houston to win and compete for a long time. Trading prospects just to hope to win this yr will turn this team into Duquette Orioles and im not for that at all. If were are not good enough this year im okay with That. We are competing but my eye is on our future. Not peaking so soon we throw away the farm.
@@mainetain15 1. You can trade prospects to make your team better without giving up your best talent. The Astros did exactly that. And if you have a chance to win the World Series, why would you not try to do it??? This whole thing is about winning the World Series, not having the best farm system. 2. How can you still be only focused on the future when the team could win back to back AL East titles?? At that point you’re just afraid to believe in this team and feel more comfortable with losing.
They need a starter AND a reliever, don't believe it's one or the other. I think a 2 or 3 year deal for $20M/year would be very reasonable and it will be a first true test for Rubenstein. I think Burnes will be out of their price range.
What about a trade for Austin Hayes to the Rangers for Michael Lorenzen? Texas has struggled with injuries and some less than stellar performances from some of their players this season. Put Hayes in left field and move Langford to DH, the Rangers will only lose a player whos contract expires at seasons end. The Orioles get some starting pitching help down the stretch and can recall Stowers to replace Hayes on the roster.
Humbly disagree with the starter vs. reliver argument. Quite a few WS champions have won it all with two killer starters and a decent backup cast. Some have won it with ONE great starter and a decent supporting cast. My fear is Kimbrell or Cano on the the mound in the ninth inning in the World Series.
@@TROYBALLERhe’s so bad anymore!! If guys were actually watching the games he did save, they’d know he got saved on quite a few occasions by the defense . He’s a risk and he cost Corbin 2/3 wins easily. No way Hyde feels good bringing him in, in a 1/2 run game in the playoffs to close out. We definitely need a starter and reliever. Knowing our organization’s history well grab a 💩 Anderson from LAA and another bum reliever smh
Holliday was already given a chance. O's should bring Mayo up or trade him. Really unfair to bury him in the minors with the amount of potential he has shown
@@arnoldbioursckii6639 i agree but i do think that practicing with heavier balls messes with your arm when you change to a regular ball because your muscle memory is not adjusted to the weight, it’s kinda like when you lift up a cup that you think is full is full but it’s actually empty and you use more strength than you need to pick it up
If your not planning on bringing back Santander you should trade him rather than get nothing for him I think they should and will resign him this offseason
Hell no, doesn't matter if they don't plan on keeping Tony Taters. You'll have a huge problem within the clubhouse if they trade him during the season. That would be like admitting they don't plan on winning the WS this season.
Tony will turn down the Qualifying Offer, and the Orioles will get the signing teams supplemental 1st or 2nd round pick. I trust Elias to make good post 1st round picks. Gunner Henderson and Jordan Westburg come to mind. Both of whom are better than Santander.

Please call up McDermott up to replace Irvin in the rotation.
Please Irvin sucks
Kremer is taking Irvin's spot

Agree. I would not call him up again this year because of that. Yes I said this year. He is not even close to being ready imo.
He's not coming up again this year unless both Norby and Mateo are hurt. It's too late for a RotY run. It'll be his job next year on opening day
Hes not coming back This year or next year Maybe in 2026 hell be ready
Why is not SUAREZ or Kramer a #3 starter ???????
when they are good enough
It's important not to rush these guy's! We are doing ok and we are back in 1st. Place. People need to be patient with this.

When you are over stocked with talent this is going happen.
The 0's have trading fodder ,they just have to use it wisely.

Those guys need more seasoning. Not ready. We don't need them now anyway. Let's see how they look next spring training.
I wouldn’t trade beavers I think as far as prospects go Stowers ,Norby, are the 2 that will be dealt of the top ones
You haven't seen Beavers play defense at Bowie.....

I’d love to see more of Stowers, he was great at hitting, and was honestly clutch at the plate when we needed him to change the momentum of the game.

Holliday for Skenes - WDYT? With all the pitching injuries these days it may be risky, but may be worth it…
pitchers need to stop using weighted balls
Roster should/could be 30 with 25 active for each game.

Your logic is solid Bruce, but I feel like the team psyche would take a hit. I hope our new owner opens up his wallet and keeps our core guys
