Good stuff! Did this a few months back... Printer wasn't used for a year or so. Had to remove the print head and soak for over a day, then push cleaning solution through the head a few times.
I have a cis system that is full of blacks for my positives. It has been sitting not connected or used in over 5months. I am trying to convert it to DTF but before I print I want to clean thoroughly. What would you recommend before I decide to hook back up to make sure I do not try to run it with possibly dried ink. Now it's just been in the shop.
Just wondering, the yellow cartridge with the tape? Do you think it needs a breather hole to allow airflow so a vacuum does not develop restricting yellow ink flow? A pinprick would do. Good video.
Thank you for your help. I purchased my new pliers to get the cover off the carriage. And cleaned the colors. However this did not stop the red lights on top of print head and the paper and ink lights from flickering. Any suggestions?
FYI don't pour a cleaning solution onto your (lint free) towel while hold it over anything important (like the printer)- if the solution comes out faster than you anticipated it will spill all over your printer (it may also go through the towel)... just a suggestion! PS- Thanks for the vid!
Hey Juan! Just stumbled on this video. Very helpful! I'll be having to do this on my printer soon. Question, for the Windex/Alcohol solution, what is the recommended ratio? Also, I am getting into making art prints, is a CISS system recommended? Or is that for sublimation printing only? Thanks for the help if you happen to see this!
@@LibertyGraphicDesigns omg thanks so much for the reply!! Do you have a recommendation on a CISS system? There are a lot of different designs and brands that I am unsure where to start 😅
I’ve got one of these that’s been sitting for over a year… this video is going to help! Thanks for posting

They have a plug but on the yellow I pushed the plug too hard and it went into the cartridge so I put a piece of tape in its place lol

Good video Juan thanks
I have a question about cleaning the black sponge on the left side of the printer can you replace them ?
in most cases when that sponge is out or bad, that's the end of the life of the printer however you CAN clean them.
Thank you for the tip!
Sweet! This is helpful.

yes CISS is a must! you'll save a lot on ink, the ratio is 50/50
