Love the clarity of the videos and the angle and commentary, I’m hoping the series goes all the way into the inner belts, that’s what is wrong with mine
Did my 09 Altima over the weekend was doubtful at first. But I'm sold new stepper motor runs like new. Fluid was pricey but still kicked the shit out of Nissan new tranny was there deal ha got ya thank to people like you my American dollar stretched. Thanks again.
Agreed! Cvts are an elegant design just no one knows how to work on them. I just got a murano that was filled with regular trans. fluid! It looked like chocolate milk..
Super helpful video Imma fuck around and try it tomorrow thanks so much cause I really thought this was going to be way harder... 💯💞 Mine is also pulling 1778 code too...
Need help. So I am getting P0705 wich is a nuetral saftey switch/range sensor. When i shift to nuetral and drive the icon dissappears from the cluster and it is in like limp mode in D. I have replaced exactly what you did because i heard it was the stepper motor but i replaced and still the same situation. However i did not check spring loaded rod piece to see if it free but i will be when i go back in. Is the nuetral safety/range switch that other connector that runs from the other side of the valve body to the top outer shell where the linkage is? Thanks for the information ahead of time if you know.
Hey am from Jamaica an I a Nissan tiida 2009 versa an my stepper motor all so gone bad, but I jus change the hole c.v.t trans an done bro I hate c.v.t trans
I have a 2005 Murano it's given a code p177 which is step motor. My issue is I get to about 2,000 rpms before it wants to go. Think of taking off in over drive. I can even drop it down to L and usually it's ready for you to shift it at about 30mph but it just drives like it's in D. I can go fast as I want. It says change step motor.
Yea my Altima the same I took a shot and worked great. Now on the 09 (just my luck) they put it on top of the valve body.30 dollar part maybe 6 hrs labor. I day go for it glad I did mine drives like new.
In my casee it was actually a couple selenoids so I had to replace the transmission it was originally close to $9000 but since I had been a long time costumer they charged me $3000
my Rogue is 2014 cvt trans. looks like a new belt would fix these. all the shops are replacing the whole trans. somebody is rebuilding these somewhere and less than $4500.
These Jatco CVT are notorious for failing. Nissan recently extended the warranty to 10 years/120,000 miles. The belt on these is a series of links, not a solid steel belt. If the belt fails those link pieces getting throw throughout the transmission. Thus only option is to get a new transmission which with labor cost probably either exceeds worth of car or close to it.
Autozone probably doesn’t sell them i got mine off Amazon just make sure you read reviews there is a lot of them or eBay I seen other guys go with on here Autozone probably will have the entire transmission I got the gasket from Autozone and the fluid tho
They are not if you do proper maintance fluid and filters every 30k, but most of the people don't and then talk trash a out them failing when they are reaching 100k. If you don't take care of the trans it will fail period.
@@dbriggs1689 they are 2 completely different system, plp are so used to auto trans and be negligent on them that when a cvt fails because of it they said is "bad" transmission garbage bla bla, but I have almost same ratio on customers that come in with bad auto trans under 100k and many customer with cvts over 300k that follow the 30k service since day one. I can't tell you which one is better because both have issues, they both fail, what I can tell you is as far you service them in the proper way they will last one or another, you can get a defective one in both cases.
@@geovp1984 it is a simple question and you can deflect and rationalize it any way you want but an automatic is far more robust than a cvt transmission is wouldn't you agree?

No se si ya solucionaste pero en amazon lo consigues
I changed the stepper motor but is not my issue if I change the valve motor would I have to reprogram it??
No

Did that fix the issue ? because I just replaced mine yesterday and it stuck in 1 gear even if I try it in manual mode it does not change gears
You ever figure out what the problem was!?
Was your Murano able to move when it went bad
Mine just rolling now...even when i press all the way down on the gas...the rpm isnt going high nomore

14 maxima. Hoping it's just my stepper motor. Not having any issues at the moment, just the code
@@sindelm7437 Did you end up replacing the stepper motor? I have a 2012 maxima that is giving the P1778 stepper motor error code right now.

What’s that part actually called cause step motor don’t pop up on autozone 😂
