Theres a much better ending for gale. If you make amends with mystra and complete gales full quest. He retrieves the crown and stones, and returns them to mystra so they cannot be used again. He then becomes mystras chosen again. And goes on to become a professor of magic. If you romance shadowheart you can also agree to come to his school and talk about your tale with shadowheart acompanying you. (Although that bit is never shown.) Also... bing bong is cannon now. True fans know what im talikng about :)
In the end, Gale and I decided not to return the Crown to Mystra, and they still managed to make amends. Gale became a professor of magic as I agreed to come teach a lesson or two. I don't know if he was considered her "chosen" once more, but they seemed to find equal footing. Gale seemed happy. :)

The part about Gale becoming a teacher is always there (if he either doesn't become a god or uses the orb), if I'm not mistaken he also invites you for more "practical" classes if you're also a wizard.
I got pretty much the same ending except I convinced Orpheus to live (since he would be super useful against Vlakith even as a mindflayer). And I also romanced Karlach, so I went with her to Avernus along with Wyll.
There's just something extremely satisfying about after you kill the Netherbrain when it causes all the mindflayers to basically have an aneurysm and then seeing the citizens of Baldur's Gate capitalizing upon that newfound weakness and coming together to kill them all.
So basically Laezel can become the ultimate leader for the gith, something she’s always wanted SH:gained her memories back and became a student of selune you could very well romance her as I did here Astarion: can become the ultimate vampire and if you influence him enough can be a good one, or he can be a normal vampire afraid of the sun Gale: can attain Godhood or just be a normal wizard Karlach:she’s Karlach she’s amazing she is content always Damn I should’ve gone for this ending but nah Gale went boom
I procrastinated so hard once i got to the end i didn’t want the story to end but my game glitched at the end so when i sacrificed orpheus everyone treated my character like he was a mind flayer and orpheus was gone and everyone was acting like he was dead, and lazael was pissed so the game just gave me the wrong ending despite me getting this one
I saved my companions and the same ending but I had a live with shadow heart and I was like whoa lots of choices and hard decisions but I really liked how you hovered over having lazel making her own life because we all know that she should have a her own life but ultimately she has a strong drive to save her people
I feel like turning Karlach as an Ilithid is the way to go. She gets to live and avoid Avernus - which we know she hates so much. She also seemed contented with her new form
I like to believe that after the events of the epilogue party karlach, tav and wyll go on to steal the blueprint and fix karlach so they can return to faerun for good
It's possible to fix her heart - they had functioning ones working just fine in the Prime Material inside the Steel Watchers. She just needs to buy time in Avernus and get the plans. A mind flayer is not the same person. Or a person at all. It is a monster with her memories. Even the things you value most will eventually lose importance compared to your own survival, as we see with The Emperor.
Karlach chose to mind flayer for me, which made sense. She retains much of her personality and gets to live on in this realm like she wanted to, and Orpheus rides off with Laezel to free the Gith My only disappointment was with Gale. Could a Wish spell restore someone transformed into a Mindflayer ? If an undeads flesh was restored somehow, could it be infected by a worm- parasite to eventually transform into a Mindflayer ?
Orpheus is like cosmologically important, if he doesn't survive there is maybe nobody with his ability to just shut down the illithid wi-fi. Imo Gale blowing up is probably the best path because it doesn't cost anyone their soul, just a dude dies and goes to his goddess.
So I did different I think my ending is better when karlach says she will turn into a mind frayed to save the world that’s what she wants to do as her last moments. I let her and she ate Orpheus mind. But the she loved it and she doesn’t die.
Not worth it with the epilogue, the Wyll and Karlach go to Avernus ending is MUCH better, especially since you learn they are about 6 months off getting a permanent fix for her heart made and will be free to return to Baldurs Gate once it's solved (plus they kind of got together while they were away if you didn't romance them). Her illithid version though is very eerie, it's pretty clear that she's starting to drift from her personality with all the brains it's munching, even if it's still being a relatively good person. It's clear that Karlach is gone and the Illithid is just basing it's personality off her memories, and even they are starting to fray.
I didn't know the prince would turn mind flayer and actually help. I sided with the Emporer and convinced Lazel to stay with me. I tried reading up on the endings and they said everyone turned into a mind flayer if you broke the prince out. Guess that's what I get for trying to spoil it. Everything in my gut was telling me to free their prince. I was with the Emporer until his plan failed, at that point I was like "No buddy we are doing things my way, I have a hammer that needs swinging. " but oh well. Guess I'll have to play through it again.
I sided with the Emperor because he's been pretty much 100% honest, and in the end he doesn't cross you over. I do wish I could free Orpheus WITHOUT making the Emperor switch sides though, that in my opinion would have been the best ending.
I want to do the most powerhungry playthrough possible, buf without elderbrain controling. Like, get God gale, ascended astarion, selunite shadowheart (because aylin is a really strong character) permanent pacted wyll, and any other companions who can become extremely powerful
You know... Some guy actually managed to return from this form back to normal... MAAAAAAAAAAAYBE in the future we will get that opportunity, tho we shouldn't pressure Larian's for "The Sweetest ending". There's no sweet without sour.
@@BanryuTV i don't remmeber DoS2 having one. Tho BG3 is MUCH MORE BIGGER despite only 3 acts(DoS2 had 5 if I recall it right). Just one act 1 is like 3 acts of DoS2, so I'm more less sure about DLC existence. Tho maybe a Mod about it? An EXCLUSIVE ending that will be included even on consoles(like Skyrim mods?)

Imo it is a much better ending to let Karlach die... In the epilogue Withers tells you that her soul is in the fugue plane shining so bright that the gods themselves can barely look upon her. Withers assures you that you will meet her again. She dosnt go back to Avernus a place she once said she "would rather die than go back". So you shouldnt let or convince her to. In DnD death is NOT the end! If reader is wondering, the Fogue Plane is where souls first go to be judged and sorted into other afterlives. I have no doubt Karlach will be judged well based on Withers comment on her "bright soul" I aslo speculate Karlach is waiting for you there because once you get sorted into an afterlife I dont believe there is a way to transfer into another.
Karlach is still beholden to Avernus. Gale is still a magic eating black hole. Wyll is still horny. Astarion is still a vampire and all it's downsides. Lae'zel is still the biggest buzzkill. I smell a DLC.
Somehow it feels wrong to kill Orpheus. Not _WRONG_ but... I don't know, 'cause the biggest weapon against any and all mind flayer colonies is dead. Unless Lae herself as the leader/next queen dedicates thousands of years on research to try and replicate Orpheus' power, what's stopping other existing brains from re-enslaving several giths? The entire people? Either that or it's going to be some Witcher thing that giths under Lae'zel's reign become so skilled in fighting them that their minds become immune to any control of the colonies.
Orpheus asked for a honorable death, and based on lore becoming a mind flayer destroys the soul. I viewed it like someone becoming a zombie and asks to be killed to stay human so put him down.
@@BanryuTV I always found that argument a bit tricky, even when lore is on the table (especially because it can be altered and it will if it benefits the sale- I MEAN STORY). That would be the exact same as saying that the best thing would be to let your companions shred you to bits when the big secret of being a Bhaalspawn is out EVEN if Dark Urge in his canon took a full resist route (after the events we see in his story of course, I mean during the events of the game itself). Even though it was proven that he can be under control, it's best to kill him for what? Just to be sure? I don't know, man. I feel like Larian had creative liberty and they were afraid to explore it. Granted that the gaming community has been shaming itself more and more, biggest evidence being the caliber of games coming out in recent past, to the point that a "simple" (add a billion quotes there) RPG game with turn-based combat and loads of dialogue feels like the deepest breath of fresh air in a decade at the very least, but when it comes to the RPG side of the community things have stayed more or less the same. They've become more demanding which is the right of everyone, but the bigger part kept that open mind.
From what I remember, it's impossible now to have your companions die unless you specifically kill them with choices(example have gale blow up), or they die in battle and you do not resurrect them. Or you don't recruit them (then don't know what happens to them).
Turning Orpheus instead of Karlach is really stup1d .. and entire civilization depends on him and his abilities are needed to defeat other Elder Brains.
Unless your character is Githyanki what happens to their civilization is irrelevant and other elder brains can be defeated without him as long as they don’t evolve into nether brains

Maybe possible spoilers but I have a question... My question is, did you save Wyll"s father or have Wyll get out of his contract? From what I have read and completed myself I didn't think it was possible for him to be called the blade of avernus or be willing to go with Karlach if you didn't save his father.
You can save Wyll's father after breaking his contract through a fucking difficult rescue mission (that is made harder by Mizora herself after breaking the contract, and weirdly enough she's chill to not try anything afterwards when she stays in camp. It's essentialy father, son and hot, toxic soon-to-be ex-girfriend)
