Absolutely loved the ending. I remember long time back when Saptarshi had once spoken up about Goddess Durga and the Bengali culture on Medium, owing to some food related controversy (vegetarian/ non-vegetarian etc) and had made a statement for the Bengali culture. And now, again, this channel made a statement for humanity and all of its unsung heroes! Of course, people who are passionate regarding food, regarding feeding; they feel genuinely happy to help feed other humans as well as animals if they're privileged enough. Great initiative to bring everyone closer together through this!
I have said this before and I am saying this now also, your channel needs to blow up. In these stringent times where communal disharmony is widespread, this actually proves why food and festivals actually have the power to bring everyone together. Thank you , love you and stay safe.
My girlfriend and I used to watch this channel a lot during the lockdown. We would keep saying how aesthetic and soothing this is. The lockdown took its toll on the relationship. We never made it past the lockdown to sit and watch this together or even try some of these recipes together. So every-time I see a video on this channel, it reminds me of her. Love you Kittu :)
Koushiki Pal mental fitness is at an all time low. I wish people understood that, and were kind to each other. I say this for myself, because it is a mistake I made too.
There are many reasons why I like this channel. But the most important reason is that it exemplifies what Calcutta 'culture' is. You can see this in the ending. Away from all the naysayers and cynics, Calcutta is a city unparalleled in its 'human' existence. Even though it's a very big metropolis, and at one time was an even bigger city, the citizens are unique in the sense that they carry their rich legacy forward without being overtly expressive about it. Bong Eats not only shows our unique food habits, but goes to the heart of who we are as Calcuttans. And that is a very lovely thing they do!
He is a great hubby to have I wish every lady have get this amount of support and help they have gone to a long way they have had a time to take rest I have respect for this kind of men !!!#Gratitude
"The oil should be hot, so that the outside browns quickly, before the insides can get hot. Otherwise the steam generated by the filling, will make the vadas burst." - this was a good new learning for me (y) :) Nice lock down haircut @Saptarshi... :)
I just love how you're using substitutes for items you don't have. I have done this on occasion whilst following your recipes and thought "If a Bengali person saw me now, they'd get cross because this isn't the right way to do it!" Makes me feel better that the experts do it, too! Love and keep safe xxx
Insiya and Saptarshi, what a delightfully cozy vlog! The gorgeous lighting, along with all the imperfections like the "saddest bunch of coriander", especially made this vlog so beautiful. For fifteen minutes, it felt like I was in 90s Bombay. P.S. Was concerned for your fingers on that mandolin there. Stay safe. :)
Well, yes. Saptarshi has definitely grated his fingers into food before. We had to once ask our vegetarian guests to stay away from the 'salad' he'd prepared.
This video is so raw and I am in absolute awe how you guys had put through the essence of bangaliana and also sharing your space with bhagha ...feels like house next door... I am a silent follower since 2016 I don't know what made me write this... you guys do amazing stuffs and also thank you for being real in such times ... Love 😊💝
I studied in the same school Insiya went to ...CGHS . We had a sizeable population of students from the Bohra community. I have tasted their cuisine..pure bliss ! 😋 Thanks for the vlog. 🥰
I love that you did not edit out the overdone potatoes. Also, I found it interesting that Harira is also quite popular in North Karnataka. We have slight variations though. One type of Harira recipe is made with whole wheat flour, almonds and jaggery, while other types require soaked dates, almonds and dry coconut. Thank you for another wonderful video!
Till now, I only loved your recipes or the way of cooking. Today on I respect you guys from the core of my heart. You two are amazing. Thanks for the notes on the pandemic.
Insiya and saptarishi , you guys have really moved the channel to next level...i have been following ur channel since a year and until then i have tried each n every recipe posted out. All the very best to both of you!! Keep doing the good work
I'm a staunch follower of bong eats.. Everyday I religiously visit it more than once and I have learnt a lot of good cooking here. However I never commented. Today Bagha and his melting eyes forced me to comment! Love everything about this place, the recipes, the videos, the sounds, the music, the voice overs, the hands with the simple wedding rings 😀, but today Bagha was like the icing of the cake!! Show him more please!!
Often our Zoom discussions revolve around which recipes have we cooked from Bong eats during the week/weekend. This channel has become very close to my heart. khub khub bhalo lagey tomader presentation and recipes.
You can tell alot about a person by the quality of their work and I'm inclined to believe that it is true in this case! I am in awe of your youtube channel! The time and energy you take in editing your videos is top notch! Right from tidbits to the ASMR and camera angles is just pure perfection! I also enjoy the background music as well.. very meticulous and organized. Other food channels have so much to learn from you
Beautiful vlog Saptarshi and Insiya. It's incredible how simple you both make the whole process of arranging, assembling and making these dishes. Also the honestly about ingredients not looking their best or getting rotten. Not everything is perfect. Your thoughtfulness throughout the whole video is so commendable. Sending love from Amsterdam. Stay safe :)
Today I tried ur bohri khichro recipe, since it was 4 iftar I did all the process in a day, trust me it was amazing, I was so proud of myself as I got praised in iftar, bt all credit goes to you guys, thanks
This vlog is so innovative and inspiring...the day I first saw it , I binged most of the episodes during lockdown. Great recipes , specially the ones you presented for the old Bangla recipes , those which were lost in oblivion ...reminding me of my grandmother , she was from Dhaka . Keep on the vlogs ..relive the past.
Guys ....I simply love your work! More power and adulation for your craft. Please keep doing the wonderful work. I m already appetising after seeing this ❣️♥️
My 7 yr old bong boy who grew up in US, loves watching your videos and requests if he could try cooking following your recipes - that says all. God bless you both!
I have lived in Dar es Salaam where there is a sizeable population of Bohri Muslims. As well as in Mauritius, where I originally hail from. But not seen any such recipes. Guess they are homemade and not available in restaurants. Each of your recipes are inspiring, and so well executed. Bravo once again!
My wife and I are following your channel from the very beginning. Our cooking skills have improved a lot since then. We would love to invite both of you at our home in Delhi after this pandemic is over.
Whenever I miss my Mom's food in US, I watch one of your videos and try to make it. My husband, though not a Bengali, loves to eat everything I make following your show. He also surprised me one day by making Mutton Kosha, inspired by one of your videos. Your channel has been a pure bliss to us during lockdown. Keep doing the good work. 😊
