I own a pair of prescription Rayban Wayfarers in the matte rubberized coating that I bought in 2014. They're still perfect except for the coating has peeled off several areas around the frame. They're very comfortable.
I just got a new prescription and I'm picking up the Oakleys this time.
Bought both of these sunglasses today taking advantage of 4th of July special.
The oakley say made in usa.
Both awesome looking sunglasses.
i own a holbrook and love it...wear it on my daily drive and when gone fishing
Have a pair of Holbrooks I've been wearing almost every day for the last 10 years. Money well spent.
Just ordered my very first pair of Ray Bans. Got the Justin’s in brown with polarised lenses. 😀
Thanks for the video bro! SUBSCRIBED.
Thanks!
Hi,
What colour are the polarized lens fitted to the Oakley?
I have a pair of SPY helm and they look a lot like the Ray-Ban Justin. Can you do a comparison between them?
Can you do a video on "Asian Fit" framed shades (Oakley's term). Would like to know if I can get the Justin's in "Asian Fit" (e.g. high cheek bones)...
I had a pair of Holbrooks that I sat on and the hinge on one of the legs just broke off. I wouldn’t say they’re more durable or resilient at all.
I like the Justin's better, but a major plus to the Oakley's would be the wrap of those lenses. You can see how they are pitched back a bit.
Just today I bought holbrooke pair for one of my friends. Hope he will like it.
Hello the Justin is 54mm but looks a little bigger than Oakley?
Great video very helpful
No problem thanks for watching!
Hi! Where can I order original lenses for oakley holbrook?
Love the RayBan..It's my fav..
I broke my Oakley Breadbox and I'm looking into those Justin RayBans, worth the change?
I just bought both Holbrook and Justin and I love them both. I love the feel and look of the ray bans but the prizm lense that Oakley uses is phenomenal. That's the only reason I prefer the Oakley's just a little more.
I recently became manager of a sunglass store and you have been a god send!!!!
Haha thanks!
Enjoy your new job!
I'd been a fan of Oakley lenses since I was back in middle school. I've always seen them in displays around stores.
I got a custom etched set a few years back. They're definitely not the premium product they appear to be.
The lens was almost immediately scratched up, and the full plastic makeup of the particular frame I got was very nice for an all plastic frame,
but plastic is just not nearly what I expected from a $130 product.
If I had to choose between the two, I like how the Oakley frames look, but I'd want the Ray Bans.
(Though I just bought a set and it's not Ray Ban, I ordered a set of Maui Jims, from what I'm seeing from others reviews, they're the better Ray Bans)
I think you will be very happy with Maui Jim’s
why doesn’t oakley put lens sizes on their website so buyer can know lens size
I am on the same Holbrooks for years never had an issue. My personal rule of thumb for what I like is if I can stick my finger under the glasses with them on my face and touch my eye with ease then they wont work for me too much light gets in.
I like that rule
Thanks
So Ray Bans are better quality but break faster??
Holbrook feels very light while on face whereas ray bans fit extremely well around temple area
Have you tried any of the Nike lifestyle sunglasses? I was surprised by how good they are for just walking around in.
j.kenneth fraac I haven’t yet!
I have the Nike Cruiser and it's awesome!
.
How much UAE prize
Holbrook for me the only downside is the Hinges they’re just not that strong, after a little time the one of the prongs will snap.
I've had mine for years. No problem. I've sat on them a couple of times and the hinge didn't snap, but simply became disconnected. I was easily able to snap it back into place.
ALMOST 7k SUBSCRIBERS!!!!!!!
Oakleys Durability s Phenomenal got my first pair a decade ago a 24k Bronze with matt transparent frame cant beat it and can really go through a beating been wanting a Rayban for a while and was confused cuz of the Wayfare s weren’t exactly close to the oakley maybe will look into the Justin too
I really wish they made the Justin's bigger. I love both.
Yes ...
I think it's an easy choice, if i was getting Wayfarer, Ray Ban is the definitely the way to go, and for your non wayfayrer glasses, i would choose Oakley
I’ve had the same pair of Oakley Gas Cans for about 10 years now. The durability is incredible. Plus the mil/le discount they give is unbeatable.
Holbrook black iridium all day
Link to that LED tree behind you, please ☺️
It was from IKEA got it years ago unfortunately they no longer sell it
I have 2 pairs of Holbrooks - one prescription, one non-prescription. My son has the Ray Ban Justins. I beat the hell out of my sunglasses and the Holbrooks hold up very well. I really like the brown tinted Oakley lens over the dark grey lens. My son's Justins are very nice looking BUT the frames are pealing! That should NEVER happen with a quality made product. So much for "Made in Italy". No such problem with my Holbrooks. The only thing I would do differently, and this is purely personal preference, I would not get a lens from any manufacturer polarized. Driving and looking at the nav/infotainment screen is so annoying. Same when I'm out fishing and looking at the Garmin chart plotter. Or even the TV in my lanai while in the pool. On the plus side the Oakley Prism lens is spectacular. Very clear and detailed. I really want to try the Ray Ban Justins but quality just doesn't seem to be there.
oakley for the w ray ban needs some sort of their own contrast boosting like oakley prizm or prizm p blows ray bans lens g-15 or whatever the hell there called out of the water there just standad lenses for like 200 bucks ill stick with oakley and maui jm
So the Oakley's are more durable but the Ray Bans have a better build quality? 🤔 Makes sense....
yeah, this guy made me lose 4 minutes of my life
Exactly what I thought
Durability is only one aspect of build quality. Fitment, finishing etc. are also things.
Think m16 vs ak47
I have both and I can make sure this Ray-Ban Justin is a piece of shit compared to Oakley
From what I recall they have the same manufacturer
Yeah luxottica owns a bunch of sunglass brands
I personally own both pairs of glasses, the rubberized coating on the Ray Bans wears off and peals off after a good amount of wear.
The Oakleys holbrooks look brand new and I'm extremely happy with them. My favorite for sure.
I like the Ray Bans....... The two brands are owned by the same source!
yes luxottica
Same as lamborghini and Volkswagen. That's doesn't mean are the same..
I sold my Ray Ban Justins, although the quality and feel is very good I found them a little bland and boring. Going to try some Holbrooks next.
Steven Thompson the Holbrooks are junk now. I had a USA made set that I wore out after like 4 years of daily use. I bought the new ones to replace them and they look the same but don’t feel the same. I didn’t realize they were Chinese until I got them home I just assumed they were the same as my last ones but if I had I wouldn’t have bought them. It’s sickening to see them charge the same price and start having them made for pennies in China. I recommend looking at Bex sunglasses. They have a clone of Holbrooks that are USA made they just don’t carry the Oakley logo.
@@strangefruit8776 I agree the Oakley Holbrook were low quality compared to the Ray Bans.
very short arm stems on the holbrooks
ray ban aviator comes in 55mm 58mm 61mm 62mm ??
Carlton James 58mm and 62mm
why compare the quality when these 2 sunglasses are made by the same company? Luxxotica
I couldnt decide…..so i bought both
Got the Justins at Macy’s 2 years ago, the film on the lens are already peeling off. Not buying RayBan ever again.
My Justins as well the frame skin peels off. This proves Ray Ban’s quality degrades every year in its products.
Lucas Tant yes it sucks. For a return or replace I need the receipt etc. Who keeps a receipt for 2 years? I am switching to Persol with glass lenses.
thats why i dont buy mirror lenses got the same experience on oakley fuel cell ferarri it peels off
Got my OG wayfarers 11 years ago. Still looks and feels new. Just one little scratch on the lense
Weird I've had my Justin's 4 or 5 years, they go on holiday with me, to the beach, in the car, on my bike, basically everywhere and they look almost new. Been looking at holbrooks though as the rayban glasses have made me realise spending a bit more money gets you a lot better quality
Both Oakley and RayBan (and Persol) and who know what else, are under the Luxottica umbrella, so you're buyin exactly the same stuff.
This argument is stupid af. Ford owns cadillac and F150. Are they same? Dumb statement.
@@user-fx5sw4jy7hYz9Hzi GM owns cadillac not ford. 👍 I get ur point tho.
@@user-fx5sw4jy7hYz9Hzi i think you mean lincoln
I tied them, I know the holbrooks are larger but somehow the justin's feel much bigger in person.
justins come in 2 sizes
do you know Oakley Holbrook lenses are swappable? that is the reason lens 'pops-up'
Holbrook XL is more comfortable than the Holbrook -- especially if you don't have a little pin head.
And I'll take durable over the somewhat more premium build quality of the Ray-Ban.
I stand by Oakley as they’ve never disappointed me. Not saying Ray-bans aren’t good but Oakley FTW for me!
I have a Holbrook, Juliet and Gascan Made in USA. Thank God I was able to purchase it before they decide to go China made. Thanks for the info. I'll stop patronizing Oakley.
I will never buy any made in China Oakley glasses. I love the O but I abhor Chinese products! I have the Justins and they are made in Italy
@@alwayspooh1588 yup! If you custom order off Ray-Ban the glasses ship directly from Italy. No Chinese junk. And you get a free leather case with it and all custom engravings or markings were free last time I ordered.
I have a pair of holbrooks bought in Europe and made in Italy.
Do I need to say which is my favorite at this point? Justinssssssss
Kyle Da Silva YES HAHA
I've had my Ray-Ban new wayfarers for 3 years (custom ordered and shipped from Italy) rubberize matte coating, not peeling whatsoever, green flash glass lenses, fit finish feel, AMAZING. Now I'm going up to Justin's. I can't justify the Oakley's after they went to china
Still no peeling or bubbling on the matte coating?
@@jaimesoncortez there was some starting of peeling that summer. They were stolen last august at the gym and I've never seen em since 😔
@@Seasniffer69 ah so sorry to hear that! Thanks for the info tho. I’m trying to decide between gloss and matte black for my next pair of raybans and it’s been a tough decision
@@jaimesoncortez ill always have the matte finish. Ive actually been building new raybans but i cant tell if the justins use the glass lenses like the new wayfarers do. I prefer glass. If in going polycarbonate lenses i might as well get oakleys
@@Seasniffer69 what have you found to be the advantages of matte over gloss? And I completely agree with you, glass lenses are the way to go. Waiting to hear back from rayban support to make sure the Wayfarer Liteforce models I’m looking at come with the original G15 / P3 polarized crystal lenses. I definitely want the scratch resistance over plastic
My 4 years old holbrook still doing well
Awesome! Lenses still in good shape?
@@ShadeReview yes, just some spots the films little take-out, like a dot, it's just a little, not a big deal, because of watching your video I'm now clean up my sun glasses lol, u know what? With meguiar lol,it's now shiny and ready to go
Ray Ban and Oakley are both from Lenscrafters.
I own them both! Just the video I was looking for, thank you.
Which do you like better?
@@ShadeReview I also owned both, and I kept the holbrooks. They have more focus on lenses while ray bans seem to focus more on the frames/design
@@James-wg8mn don't the oakley prizm lens peel off after time? Even if you take good care of the use..
Go Justin ss
Bro are you European?
Oakley is always best
wrong oakley sucks
I love both of models,
But I can't use anyone of these, just because of my big head
I feel your pain , I have a big head as well , get the Holbrook XL they fit great ( at least on my head) I'm a truck driver and the Prizm lenses are so amazing I got a second pair so I can keep one in the truck
down side is once you get use to them your hocked and you won't use anything else
Thanks bro..
By the way... I get a new pair of sunglass. It's Oakley Gauge B, it's also with prizm polarized lenses..
N in fact it's fit on my face as well..
I checked Holbrook n sliver both in xl size.. But I think Gauge B looks more better then both.
Yup, the Holbrook XL will fix that problem
Oakley's Prizm is 4K. Ray Ban is Full HD. Oakley's Prizm lenses have no competition.
Holbrook
Oakley and RayBan are owned by the same company so they obviously will have wimilar quality
Oakley are the most comfortable for all day, every day wear. My Ray Bans do not sit as comfy on my face.
In terms of the design, the Holbrook looks like a much higher class design, unfortunate they outsourced to China.
But even with the Justins having a better build quality, I'm still gonna go for the Holbrooks because I hate how Ray Bans look (very boring and cheap looking)
Yes on you it does. Tom Cruise would disagree
Oakley👍👍
All plastic Oakleys are indestructible. I nocked a temple and it didn't break but popped out, if you do that on a metal hinge the sunglass is ruined. Those Oakley stems pop out and you reattach them wiith easy. O mater is flexible very hard to break. So quality wise Holbrook is better but Justin is more luxurious. There is rumour that chromance and prizm are the same but chromance applies an anti reflective coat to the underside which is necesary for not wraparound (flatter) frames. So Holbrook prizm and Justin chrominance are about the same glass on different frames.
Oakley 👍
Rayban Justin Sunglasses all day!
Holbrooks are better
Mauijim red sands 😎 better 🤙
The hinge on the Holbrook is trash
Holbrook is better
Why?
Holbrook 1-0 RayBan Justin
Holbrook 0-10 RayBan Aviator
holbrook is poorly built hinges are all plastic,
I choose ray ban justin bcz i love justin bieber
It’s the same. They are both made by same company. Luxottica. The same damn thing. Different badge
I hate mirror lenses.
Oakley are NOT manufacturing in China! Where you learned that?
oh, yes they are. Thats why it says assembed in usa and not made in the usa. luxottica moved oakley manufacturing to china a few yrs ago. alot of models like holbrooks lx even say China on the frame.
