Let's not forget our sleeper friends RATLINGS. So not only are 3 FoBs and heavy weapons raining fire, deep strike 3 or 4 scions. Throw some Scions and Ogryns in Taurox Primes. Splash Gaunts ghost in and use the raltings to pressure characters you're putting so much pressure all over the board.
This detachment is really awsome! I hat the chance to test a 1250p list against Black Templar. The units are fast, hard hitting. Even Models with T10 suffer from the blows and shear volume of firepower that can be delivered. I ran 3x Command Squad w/ Plasma & Volley Gun attached to 5 man Squad w/ plasma and Volley gun in Taurox primes. In combination w/ Fiering Hot strat, re-roll all to wound and wound roll +1 this was realy devastating to my oponent. The Aerial Extraction strat is supperbe to zoom your troops over the battlefield. List: 50 Scions, 4 Taurox Prime, 1 Valkyrie, 1 Commissar.
Kinda funny how you can use the Aerial Extraction stratagem on the Hades Breaching Drill! 3x 6-man ogryn squads in reserve to have turn 2/3/4 deep striking ogryns This detachment has a lot of meme potential and I love it.
I feel like anything that militarum tempestus units (not characters) get in this should also apply to Kasrkin. Also firing hot feels super thematic for Aquillons. They burn out their drop power packs for an alph strike when coming in and then switch to their normal guns.
My support regiment heavy weapon teams, infantry squads, and FOBs. I will be using this. You get 2 lord solars in your army! Six orders with 2 models, 6 units redeploying. And 45 scions, 30 aquilons, and 30 kasrkin are still enough for the other bonuses
Anti armour squads with 2 melta and 2 grenade launchers with a command squad with a melta and grenade launcher dropping down punching heavy armour units and laughing
One thing I haven't really seen mentioned in Vox Casters. This detachment shouldn't take Leo, so now all those vox casters can start doing their thing. You can even roll for getting the CP back when doing a Belisosa drop (when you target a unit, but only get the 5+). That can be HUGE for smaller games, and still have a good impact on the 2K games
Cadian Sgt Steele brings a lot of good points like its funny to do Ogryns with uppy downy, infantry based artillery are great in this one. One thing i wouldn't underestimate is the anti tank calability of multiple squads stacking up many melta and plasma shots. Add in Kasrkin as well, and Kriegers with their special weapons grim demeanor they get hitting on 2s rerolling 1s. He also mentioned for anti tank purposes to bring a Rogal Dorn. Please do not bring a Rogal Dorn in this one. Without an order its hitting on 4/5s (someone will tag it or pop smoke) and without lethal hits from Born Soldiers AND it would cost 295 to bring along a chicken walker. It just doesnt belong in this Detachment. If you must bring a tank definitely Tank Commander is good at 225, it can order itself and its gun has more punch than Rogal Dorn. People are also sleeping on big squads of Ogryns, and squad of Bullgryn. You need some wall to take the midfield and one squad of 6 Bullgryns doesnt care about anything in the game. The Bridgehead Bullies have a lot of potential spice Edit: im playing my first draft of this army tomorrow. The fact it contains a Squad of 6 Bullgryn, two Squads of 6 Ogryn, one large squad of the new hobbits + a small 5 man hobbit squad, made me realize this is lowkey the "Auxiliaries" detachment. Gawd Ogryns/hobbits w/ advance and shoot. Hobbits can shoot sharp and scarper 😂😂 Oh ya it has Sly Marbo cus he also benefits from Only the Best. How can we forget about Marbo (plus he can infiltrate and be redeployed with the augury, he's the only one with Regiment and infiltrate)
Not really related, but I think commissars should be able to take on a units keywords when they join it, so the unit could still do its special thing (scout, deep strike or such) but with proper oversight.
Yes, to deepstrike, no to scout. In the fluff Catachans are famous for Commissars with exceptionally short life spans. Main cause of death: Friendly fire. But many Commissars were Scions before, so it actually doesn't make sense that they don't have deepstrike. Give them deepstrike if leading a squad. If the squad can't deepstrike, the can't either. Actually very small tweak, and maybe a tipp for your casual games. The only thing is, that Scions don't benefit much from an attached commissar.
@@Jon-t1z7z Fluff wise they don't belong in Catachns, but Ogryns tho. And while many Commissars are former Scions, they don't do much for them. +1OC or WS is not exactly what Scions crave for. And executing a Scion certainly hurts a bit more than a regular guardsman. Catachans would benefit from a Commissar, but I don't think they belong in there, because Catachans notoriously hate Commissars and have no problem showing their disgust with some friendly fire. That they lose Scout if led by a Commissar makes sense, a bit at least. IMO the true benefit Commissars could offer is, if they could be attached to Bullgryns.
@@philippschmitz1787 Afaik, Comissars aren't former scions. Prefectus Cadets (comissar cadets) and Scions are different tracks of Progenium graduates (as are Arbites and Sororitas).
@@scelonferdi They might have changed that. But when Scions were released back in the day, Commissars were part of their subfaction and were also named as being former Scions. That's the fluff reason why the old Start collecting Scions box had 10 Scions + Taurox + Commissar. But that's quite old fluff now.
There are several problems with that: 1) Bellicosa Drop needs the target unit to have the Deep Strike ability. Kasrkins don't have it. 2) Melta Mine is ranged at 3", not 6". 3) Even if you could chuck a Melta Mine at an enemy unit within 6", when you deepstrike with Bellicosa Drop you need to do it over 6" away from all enemy models.
There are special rules for models like aircraft that can't fit within the 6" typically you can squeeze the base into that 6" and then let the aircraft hang over a bit.
@@CadianSergeantSteel But no special aircraft get auto deepstrike or anything that im missing? The reason im asking is Valkyrie kinda becomes a target where as absolutely NOBODY is going to expect you to aerial extract a breacher drill and dump 6 more ogryns the next turn or even 2 turns. It also has a smaller footprint than a vakerie.
@Troph2 which is a phenomenal point because Hades Breaching Drills can bring in anything from Reserves so you COULD use them to Deep Strike infantry twice.
Not trying to be a jerk. I think from a pronunciation standpoint we are inclined to say Bombast because of the FoB, but it feels weird also because Bombastic is entering our common vernacular due to social media again (ie: bombastic side eye TikTok sound)

also, if you use the spare hotshots with the krieg bodies, you can make discount grenadiers

It is pretty solid. I have enough units to run it. I think it's going to work in a lot of situations.
I need to blitz through some more Tempestus to make the most of this.
just had a thought, use the strategem On my position with a cyclops
needs to survive the enemy's fight phase

Maybe we can use a stormlord?
Will you be publishing an example list with this detachment?
Hades DS then goes back to reserves using 1 cp then DS again.

Hot‑shot long‑lasgun(AQUILONS) , they miss this one or not?
You are correct. In the Firing Hot stratagem, hot-shot long-las is not listed.
That's just petty of GW (or most likely just a miss) since they have the exact same profile.
In a 2000pt game, all 12 scion units can go in reserves.
