      Matt Liuag Its because during tourney's he is serious, so you don't see much 'animation' out of him when he's playing the real competition. The only time he can actually relax and be normal is when he's not prepping for a tourney or in one.

    • @boblansdorp
      @boblansdorp 10 років тому

      ***** I don't care whether it's public or private, people that have the time and money to play golf do not need charity. And my point that that the land would better serve everyone as a forest remains. As for your putting money in the economy argument, it's a fallacy because by that argument digging a hole to nowhere is putting money in the economy. Something has to promote long-term growth to spark the economy. This cheap car advertisement does nothing other than entertain nimwits like yourself for a few minutes in return for brainwashing you into buying their car (ie advertising).

    • @TroyChewning
      @TroyChewning 10 років тому +10

      nanor It's people like you that A) watch the video and B) need to understand the principle of life not being fair. The reason why the economy is screwed is because the government became TOO INVOLVED in "making up" jobs and providing for people that cannot provide for themselves. This is assuming that you live in the united states and if you don't then I guess this argument is null and void.
      I have the time and money to play golf, yes I am still in school and I have to budget my money to do so. I plan according to my earnings when and if I will be able to play because it is a HOBBY, just like knitting, cooking, "shopping" for some people, etc.
      YOU are the reason this country (once again assuming you live in the USA) is so full of pussies now-a-days.

    • @TheIdeasOfASimpleton
      @TheIdeasOfASimpleton 10 років тому +10

      nanor dude, golf really isn't THAT expensive.... It's cheaper than some other hobbies out there to be honest. I'm only 15 and can afford a high end set of clubs, a membership at a course and still have a fair amount of my earnings to do whatever I want. My job? I'm a part-time waiter working two days a week. It really doesn't break the bank if you're good with your money.... It annoys me when people stereotype others into certain social classes just because they have certain hobbies....

    • @boblansdorp
      @boblansdorp 10 років тому

      TheIdeasOfASimpleton You seem to have missed my point. The "I can do whatever I want with my earnings" approach, while technically true, leads to things that screw society over. So just as it's your right to do whatever you want with your money (pay someone to have a tree-cutting competition in your city for example), It's my right to bring this to your attention so that maybe you can see the error in your ways. If you used your earnings for something that wasn't so wasteful, there would be many benefits, both to you and to future generations. Possible benefits to you: there would be less dumb advertisements on TV, there would be slightly more green space near cities. There would be a greater diversity of life, which could lead to drug discoveries for your or future generations. My point is: if there was no golf, the world would be a better place.
      And regarding your use of the word stereotyping: I am not stereotyping you as as person. I am characterizing your hobby as one that is wasteful and destructive.

    I've played a bunch of both, and I wouldn't exactly say most clubs have it all over an $80 course. If they do, they're on the top 100 course lists.
    The only thing better about most clubs is the players are usually better on average than public players. The part that's worse is that there are a bunch of snot nose self-inflated high schoolers and whining old ladies who love to try to nail people for breaking lame club rules.

  • @digitalwarfares
    @digitalwarfares 15 років тому

    Yes a lot of people play golf recreationally. Guartantee 99.9999% of anyone who plays golf would never even get close to par on a course such as Augusta. Not in a million years. Most golf courses have simple fairways, simple bunkers, and simple greens (majority of which are flat, making simple puts).
    But on difficult courses, having to draw and fade shots, drawback shots, dead ball weight shots, you name it - A hockey player can't do that without training and practice.

    i can see An army dressed cameraman, which is walking right in front of the camera, but the camera man is a fair distance away from the group of golfers. SO it looks like he walks past them.
    You should have come across a thing, like you put your fingers close to your eyes and try to grap something that's far away. (it fits inside your fingers because its size from a fair distance is smaller) THanks

    He might be I don't know, but I'll tell you this. Most people that excel at their professional sport are arrogant and cocky. You have to be, you have to have that belief in yourself to destroy the competition. Even the best are super cocky, only thing is not all are vocal about it. Some hide it well, some don't. But they ALL ARE if you don't think so you're out of your mind.

    That's pretty sad really if your kids don't care about golf you are just retelling a boring ass story 50 times over again how the most important and interesting thing in your life was meeting someone important to a sport. Honestly I could probably go meet Steven Hawking at a conference and make a bet with him about something based on physics. Win or not infinitely better than meeting a sport star. Also please don't comment on stocks if you do not know anything about the subject.

    What do you want him to give them? A cookie? Their getting the chance to watch probablly the greatest golfer of all time so far. How quickly some forget that these athletes are working, you don't bother someone while their working. No athlete pursues their dream to please fans, its about passion for the sport and being able to make a living do it. Fans are just a benefit, kinda like company provided medical or dental insurance.

  • @tommy605

    I don't think I was denying it. I was saying it's nobodies business but those directly involved. I think it only says a little about who he is as a person. All it says is what kind of husband he was to Elin. We know nothing more.
    The problem is, people want to use people like Tiger as role models for their kids, which is fine if you use his ability to set and achieve his goals.
    No parent should expect their kids to use stars as a life role model. That's the job of the parents.

    @DigbyCat yes he has done wrong and he knows it but i assume your a golfing fan (or you wouldnt be watching this video) so you should realise that golf without tiger would go down hill big time, everyone makes mistakes no ones perfect, you need to stop reveling in his misfortune, you probably have no moral values yourself you just enjoy jumping on the bandwagon for the fun of it

  • @MANUTD4LIFE171

    @DigbyCat his cheating has never changed the way he has been with his fans he has alays been the same, fair enough he was wrong what he did but 2 wrongs dont make a right, no need for such language, at the end of the day tiger is a legend and seems a genuinely "nice guy" and the sport would be in a far worse state without him, his private life is just that "private" who cares he was wrong and hes paying for it, but from a golfing perspective he will always be an idol of mine

    It became known as "Tiger-proofing" because the media called it "Tiger-proofing." Everyone is hitting it longer now due to advances in equipment and because they're more in shape (thanks mostly to the way Tiger trains.) Courses are longer because everyone is hitting it farther. If anything, "Tiger-Proofing" gives Tiger more chances at winning because he is one of the longest players out there.

    personally I think it was a set-up. At 2:43 you see a cameraman in camoflauge walk past them and none of the golfers even look at him. Also, at the very beginning, when the guy first picks up Tigers wedge there is an extreme close-up showing Tigers name on the face. How did they get that shot? The camera had to be right next to the guy for that! Anyway, it is a fun video to watch and just like Tigers game it seems to good to be true!

    Top-notch video. It reminded me of why I don't like to exercise. Exercising is a waste of time. Everybody eventually dies. But because of the number of people who fall for exercise propaganda, and the actuarial table being what it is, a few may live outlive the average lifespan, thereby increasing revenue for the government. In all fairness, it should be pointed out that some smokers make it to 90 plus years. Not only do I get bored and irritable watching people exercise, but also rather tired.

    I miss that Tiger. Didn't look roided out... Hadn't cheated on his wife (well, hadn't been caught yet)... Had a personality that he actually showed people... Had a great swing too. I still hated him, but only because he was so amazing at golf and it got tiresome to see him win all the time. Now I hate him for everything but that.

    Everybody knows about the camouflaged guy. But here's another something I spotted which confirms this is staged. During the sequence when Tiger meets the first group - he has no glove on when he first shakes hands with them - 0:49-0:53. However at 0:54 his left hand now sports his glove. Evidence that this was staged :-)
    I loved it first time around, though!

  • @pdxgolfer

    I haven't forgotten that, it's a sad, but true part of the history of the game. I just don't think racism is a prevailing force anymore. I especially don't see the connection of how making courses longer, is racist. Tiger is LONG, making courses long plays into his hands. Short hitters like Corey Pavin and Billy Mayfair have a hard time on these layouts.

    Tiger Woods pulls up at a gas station in his new Buick. As he is filling the tank a couple of golf tees fall out of his pocket. A couple of locals nearby are curious to know what the tees are for. "Oh they are what I put my balls on when driving" replied Woods when asked.
    "My God" said one of the local guys "Buick sure think of everything!"

    Well, Titleist wedges were some of the only good wedges back then, but now the other companies like Nike have stepped up. There's a reason for him still using his Scotty Cameron putter. Since he's won 13 of his 14 majors with it, he says that he'll keep it. Tiger does have other putters in his backup sets, but he likes to use his Newport the most.

    You don't know me. I didnt golf with Tiger, I walked the course. I used to volunteer for the Bridgestone Invitiational and I was a standard barer for 6 years. So I walked the course with him and many other pros. My income is none of your business but I can say I'm considered poverty so the amount of money I donate is irrelevant. Grow up!

    With my luck, the tee with the hidden cameras would be the one that I took a piss at...maybe on one of the camo cameramen

    lol I should have known. First of all your story is probably exaggerated, and second, try putting yourself in his shoes. He's probably got hundreds of people approaching him and asking for his autograph everyday. Don't you think you would get a little annoyed after awhile?

    I don't know what you guys are talking about. Tiger is still the same guy, he's just much more guarded now in front of the cameras, and sometimes that can make him seem like a dick. But Tiger's still a good guy, and I hope he keeps winning. He's been my favorite for a long time now

    That waren't no sand wedge at 2:58 (he's just using their clubs).....Which is cool.
    But why didn't he USE his wedge and that (seein' as it WAS there with him)....His swing was so soft there too : His aim was to HAVE the people win : Which is cool as well.....Neat video

    meeting a man who has, like him or not, made history in one of the most popular sports of all time would be a memory that would last a lifetime, as well as a story you could pass down to your grandkids. In comparison your stocks would crash in a year. if your lucky. Still, who the hell wants a buick.

    It's not that he owes them, but at least acknowledge them hell give em a High five or something. But he'll sink a putt and they will roar for him but he hardly looks up. Every golfer is out there focused on their play just some seem to interact with the fans better than others.

    @DigbyCat i am not "infatuated"....your comments highlight your ignorance if hitting a white ball around on grass and sand is so easy (as you are implying) then why dont you do it and win millions like tiger....Tiger is one of if not the most talented sportsman ever he is certainly up there
