yes he is going to design a new racing hull series for oyster yachts based on groundbreaking designs of the Americas cup..All this after enjoying his new oyster and help suitably disabled uk adults on the Global Oyster challenge Then he will produce work for Ferrari, including a road going LME car with McLaren.
What we do need for Imola to become more exciting again is to re-model Tamburello and Villeneuve to what they used to be, install tech pro barriers, and move the stream behind Tamburello underground to get a big run-off area. That way, we get an amazing run up to Tosa, which will give drivers more of an opportunity to overtake. That is one thing, the other thing is that we need smaller, narrower cars that provide a better slipstream, so we can get rid of DRS.
@@Hell-Hound1 or make it a 10-car race so each team got at least one untouched(uncrashed) car. I don't think the idea or others, are relevant. F1 Media owners want the big stars race anyway.
I'm glad that someone as prominent as Eddie is championing the sprint race for rookies idea. It would b a great way to give these drivers a chance, and would add more interest to the race weekends.
@@fishyouwerehere3604 Because not all F2 drivers can cut it in F1, some drivers that do well in the lower categories don't always do well in F1 so by giving them the opportunities to race current F1 cars it would show the teams who's ready to make the switch to F1. When teams can see how the rookies are performing the teams won't taking as much risk if they decide to sign them up. I think it's a good idea but allowances might be needed regarding accident damage, if a car is damaged in the sprint then repairs shouldn't be included in the budget cap, also it might be a good idea to limit the sprint to one car per team, a grid with only ten cars might limit pile ups in the first corner etc . Waivers might be needed if the rookies don't have the required super licence points and the sprint races could also form a mini championship with the winner getting FIA sponsorship to race in F1 in the following season.
whilst Lando needed a couple more laps, it reminded me of the glory days of Mansell on a charge.. was great to see, seems too often no one is able or willing to throw it to the wind and go for it.. don't know if it's the talent or the modern tyres. Kudos to Lando.
What I really enjoy is the cameraderie between the younger drivers off the track without the helmet. Max and Lando are great friends and also rivals but they respect each other. Max was genuinely happy for his friend to win his first race. That is special. The media loves to create drama where there is none. I think few drivers truly hate each each other.
Seriously, this would be a game changer for the sprint format. It gives it a unique use case, gives the reserve driver a much bigger emphasis, and would even drive demand to have more sprint races.
I can't imagine a world where drivers like Max, Lewis, Alonso would give up their car for a rookie, and risk crashing it in a sprint race. I don't think the teams would be too keen on the idea with cost caps either.
It makes me really happy to hear EJ talk about his sprint race ideas, because it's exactly what I think they should do but for some details that probably make EJ''s plan more realistic, given that he's Eddi feckin Jordan and knows how F1 works and I'm just a sofa person with a TV^^. But It's cool to have an idea and then a year later you hear someone who actually knows the sport and is still in it's circles say almost the same thing. Now we just need EJ to become FIA president, or something ;)

That was and really is the best idea for Rookie Drivers! Let them do that Sprint Race! I mean i don't like them sprint what ever but with Rookies that would change the whole thing! What a cool Idea from Eddie!
EJ is bang on with the spint races having a 10GP limit for the drivers on the grid. Why don't the FIA lower the entry requirements and make it a way for the top 3 finishers to get a superlicence at the end of the season? it would be a super way of giving the latest talent a way in.

ABOUT TIME EDDIE. I have been saying this for a few years now. My idea was for teams to have the ability to sub drivers - and have a compulsary two Substitutions a year for each team. I am a big fan of Drugovic and Pourchaire - i think they are stronger than the likes of even Bearman and Lawson if you compare their F2 records. Sprints for the academy drivers. It also forces regular drivers to up their games. Eddie Jordan - why are you not president of the FIA???
Thank you for this suprise podcast… we haven’t decided what to do.. I think that’s EJ code for whatever number you’re thinking of teams 1-5 you need to go back to your piggy banks and add 40%. 15 for Adrian and of course 25% for the bold EJ. Yachts don’t grow on trees you know.
Great show guys!!! I have a new found respect for Eddie now. I guess that I've never really understood him before. He can take it just as much as he can dish it out.
14:17 (third comment, youtube will like that^^) I think EJ is right, getting close and getting past isn't the same. Not to diminish Landos achievement, I still don't get how he managed to pull this, and he drove amazingly, but I think his only chance to win would have been to chase Max like a mad man and try to force him of track with all 4 wheels and to then win on a technicality. (or pass max when he goes off, but it's Max, so even a small mistake would be hard to force and since there was no time for that anyway, what does it matter?) On another track, yes one lap (or, you know... leaving the pit in front of Checko) could have done the trick, but not with those boat mobiles in Imola.
This is why the Ch4 coverage is so much better ( in my humble ) than the Sky. Despite Sky having ex drivers and presenters from previous incarnations, Ch4 ( or more importantly Whisper and DC ) are more connected to the deep heart of F1, they aren't just there to present a race, they manage drivers and personal, have close friendships with others and that gives what is meant to be a 2nd fiddle highlights team as much if not more clout and access than the big money players. Thank you for saving free to view coverage, keep doing what you're doing and hopefully one day Liberty will see the value in free to air full coverage and do the opposite to FE which I watched for 10 years before it got put behind a paywall. It'd be a shame for over 30 years of F1 watching to go the same way.
not an Aussie, but for reasons that not important, i watch a lot of Aussie media, and i see very little about Oscar. He is still just a tad behind lando on tyre management, they approach weekends quite differently, but come quali and race, Oscar i believe is incredibly closely matched with Lando. I do believe McLaren have the best pairing in F1
both of these two men offer hilarity and honest evaluations only one comment many might agree with in msport F is far too accentuated let's kick it away and apply fresh clean fillers showing real mind over matter
Thank you Eddie for arguing the point I made about having the sprint race only for reserve drivers. However, this could be expended further. As the calendar expands, the pressure on teams and drivers increases. This will require three driver teams. The third junior driver should be locked into completing two of the 24 races in any one season.
Love to see McLaren back up there, it's been too long. Sucks the regulations will change just as they find performance with Ferrari closing in on red bull also.
13:00 I think Oscar is "scary" (in a really good way), he isn't there yet but he's much closer than a year ago and if he plays his cards right, has the needed luck with the car and all that, two or three years from now he could be something special. On his day he has Charles one lap pace and (at least for a few laps) Landos race pace. All he needs is more experience and to learn from all the things worth learning. I honestly think he could get "Max good."

Yes and binning Monaco, despite the heritage and glamour it brings

I agree we need more gravel on some tracks but they do not need to be like imola, because it's near impossible to pass on imola
