    Lewis was a benchmark? I guess the benchmark for most British overrated and overhyped by the British media "driver".. by far!
    Perhaps he should first win from his teammate like Russell, or Button, or Rosberg, Massa .. he is been outqualified by many teammates, so based on the titles he is a benchmark?
    Lewis should be careful that he can hold at least one record in his career... almost all his records has been broken.

    • @1Pandemoonium
      @1Pandemoonium 4 місяці тому

      Seems like you’re not a fan of Lewis there
      Careful about records? What do they even matter? The cars are now more reliable than ever, there’s more races in a season than ever, and you get 25 points for a win + extra from sprint races, fastest lap and pole.
      If you get a dominant car, of course you’re going to achieve all the records as you’re on easy mode lol

      @Eric-rf1is 4 місяці тому

      @@1Pandemoonium Ham has that "easy mode" for 8 years. Max dominance is only 2 years running. Still Max gets the records. That's because he's a different driver: far more dedicated, consistant, faultless and motivated. Look at 2021 and the mistakes Ham made and his inconsistancy............

      @@Eric-rf1is as I asked before, what does it matter?
      As you said, they’re different drivers. Max lives and breathes racing, finishes real racing and does sim racing. Lewis has other things he enjoys doing with his life. Both lifestyles are fine and nothing to do with us.
      They are both people that don’t care about you or me (no matter how angrily you talk shit about them or worship them in UA-cam comments), don’t care what we think, and do what they want to do in life.
      Arguing or getting mad about it is sad and a waste of your life

      @@1Pandemoonium Nah, its this bias which the British put on constantly. Problem lies that also Sky media tend to forget they are a internationally broadcasted channel were people do not have a choice then watching anything else then their twisted bias facts. Sky has monopolistic stand on the grid and you cannot be bias or even diminish a driver as what they constantly do with Max or Alonso or any driver that competes with Hamilton. If its not Hamilton they repeat Newey, and put him on a stand where he shouldn't be belong. Giving credits to the right people is what they should do and they are not doing that.
      If you are an international channel you supposed to be as neutral as possible, not twisting facts in favor of your countrymen. What we do need for Imola to become more exciting again is to re-model Tamburello and Villeneuve to what they used to be, install tech pro barriers, and move the stream behind Tamburello underground to get a big run-off area. That way, we get an amazing run up to Tosa, which will give drivers more of an opportunity to overtake. That is one thing, the other thing is that we need smaller, narrower cars that provide a better slipstream, so we can get rid of DRS.

      @@fishyouwerehere3604 Because not all F2 drivers can cut it in F1, some drivers that do well in the lower categories don't always do well in F1 so by giving them the opportunities to race current F1 cars it would show the teams who's ready to make the switch to F1. When teams can see how the rookies are performing the teams won't taking as much risk if they decide to sign them up. I think it's a good idea but allowances might be needed regarding accident damage, if a car is damaged in the sprint then repairs shouldn't be included in the budget cap, also it might be a good idea to limit the sprint to one car per team, a grid with only ten cars might limit pile ups in the first corner etc . Waivers might be needed if the rookies don't have the required super licence points and the sprint races could also form a mini championship with the winner getting FIA sponsorship to race in F1 in the following season.

    I think EJ is right, getting close and getting past isn't the same. Not to diminish Landos achievement, I still don't get how he managed to pull this, and he drove amazingly, but I think his only chance to win would have been to chase Max like a mad man and try to force him of track with all 4 wheels and to then win on a technicality. (or pass max when he goes off, but it's Max, so even a small mistake would be hard to force and since there was no time for that anyway, what does it matter?) On another track, yes one lap (or, you know... leaving the pit in front of Checko) could have done the trick, but not with those boat mobiles in Imola.

    EJ’s ideas for the sprints is quite good. Reserve drivers only, goes towards constructors . Interesting, but it would never happen

    Don't think people understand DC stepped into Dead man racing boots. I can remember boo's that Senna car should have been retired. Huge huge pressure on such a young driver at Silverstone. Biggest take away was FIA Doctor Sid Walkins was put in charge of safety, insured it would never happen again.

    What I really enjoy is the cameraderie between the younger drivers off the track without the helmet. Max and Lando are great friends and also rivals but they respect each other. Max was genuinely happy for his friend to win his first race. That is special. The media loves to create drama where there is none. I think few drivers truly hate each each other.

    I've said the following about sprint races until my blue face is almost Scottish;
    The winning driver gets 2 points, all other finishing the race gets 1 point apiece. The teams get the points normally awarded to drivers and teams combined.
    Anticipated affect;
    1) opportunity for different drivers to show skills & potential
    2) strategic positioning of cars during race to benefit team over drivers
    3) refreshing slant on a much loved sport.
    I'll stop short of introducing a ford/stream crossing, but then again......?

    This is why the Ch4 coverage is so much better ( in my humble ) than the Sky.
    Despite Sky having ex drivers and presenters from previous incarnations, Ch4 ( or more importantly Whisper and DC ) are more connected to the deep heart of F1, they aren't just there to present a race, they manage drivers and personal, have close friendships with others and that gives what is meant to be a 2nd fiddle highlights team as much if not more clout and access than the big money players.
    Thank you for saving free to view coverage, keep doing what you're doing and hopefully one day Liberty will see the value in free to air full coverage and do the opposite to FE which I watched for 10 years before it got put behind a paywall.
    It'd be a shame for over 30 years of F1 watching to go the same way.

    I hate sprint races. Created purely for money. It’s too long and it’s no different than a normal race. Conserving tyres. Should be a 10-12 lap softest tyres. No penalty if you have damaged your car for the main race. Flat out 10laps. It’s totally pointless and I’m sure the viewing figures will show that far lower than the main race
