It takes place around John Wick 3 before John Wick 4. If you pay attention in the trailer they show her watching him when he walks down the steps with the Director (Anjelica Huston) at the Ruska Roma where John went in the 3rd one.
You can also see him while she is training hitting the punching bag. He becomes her mentor to show her how to become him..
It's basically John Wick 3.5✅️ ballerina events happens during the middle of John Wick 3..right before the events of John Wick 4

Wow.... Anjelica Huston reprising her role as"The Director". This film taking place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 and John Wick: Chapter 4.... In an interview producer Erica Lee stated if the movie a successful the studio has tentative plans to develop a sequel movie or series starring Ana de Armas character. Ana was amazing in Bond's No Time To Die, The Grey Man and Ghosted as an action heroine.
We a glimpse of Parabellum with Rooney witnessing Wick seeking sanctuary in Casa Blanca. Between Parabellum and Chapter 4.
So happy to see Lance again. Such a great talent the world lost when he passed.
All the things that work from the Wick films with a believable action star in Ana. This could be a huge film attracting the core John Wick fans with the added male and female audience that will show up for de Armas.

Looks okay. Like you (and many others) I like Ana de Armas a lot (loved here in the Blade Runner sequel) seems to be the the John Wick version of Marvel’s Black Widow unit.

This film was on my most anticipated list for this year until it was delayed, looks awesome!
I love that this has already been set up in other Wick movies. In Wick 3, we learn that John gets to the U.S thru the ballet school run by Angelica Huston. We've already seen assassins fight dirty. We've seen John fight women (Ms Perkins, the mute assassin) and alongside them (Halle Berry), so this just makes sense.
I love the John Wick Universe. Ana De Armas kicked ass in No Time To Die and this looks like bad assery amped ten folds! Was already looking forward to this movie, now it’s one of my most anticipated for 2025.

The trail is legit, & the action is comparable to John Wick, and that's what people are filling up the theater seats for. I'm sold on it.
They didn't push it just because of the strike. They reshot damn near the entire movie. Thankfully Stahelski came in and it looks like he saved the movie. He made it look and feel more like the John Wick films. Hopefully the movie is as good as it looks in the trailer.

This movie apparently takes place in between John Wick 3 and 4
Asides from that, they're apparently doing a massive TV show starring Halle Berry and a bunch of the side characters from the movies
And Donnie Yen's character is also apparently getting his own movie
We see John walking down the stairs at the Ruska Roma as we see him do in Chapter 3 where he goes to tear his ticket. But I do reckon we’ll see some portion that takes place in between 3 and 4.
I know everyone things it occurs between 3-4 but I’m actually sure it takes place post 4 in which flashbacks refers to her seeing the first time … but I have a theory !
The set up one hundred % hints at her being Johns daughter, she believes her father dead but like John she kits up the same, he who has no known reason is somehow willingly after all the killing to not retire and instead train her, I reckon she is his daughter, John is her father and Winston is Johns real father ! And her grandfather. She is gonna fight and it be revealed this truth giving John a reason to live when he was left open to dying because he had nothing since his wife’s death but if he lived and Winston covered up his survival by claiming him killed. Only for him to come back only for his daughter! In a pass off!

A sort of fresh take if you will because john we start with sorta knowing he's this sentinel juggernaut sort of being but with this they give you the impression that she starts off as a mouse who slowly turns into a lion.

I like the fact that they have made the woman protagonist more believable, fighting dirty to survive. This is how to do it instead of having a women throwing 6,5 men around, make her fight dirty. This looks cool!
Ballerina looks a much better action movie than Ghosted with her & Chris Evans. They only did one tv show The Continental.
Personally I don't want John Wick 5, even the fouth one was too much and should have ended with the third one. If the fifth one happens, then they are turning him into full on Michael Myers. Halle Berry expressed interest for a spin off movie based on her character from John Wick 3.
And The Continental tv series was great in my opinion.

Showing Keanu seems like a desperate move. Now people will be disappointed if the trailer shows his whole cameo already.

Very unnecessary spin-off, this trailer did not excite me one bit. This franchise should just ended with John Wick 4. I will still watch it, because I am a completionist but... This seems like a very generic action film, I feel like they just milking this franchise at this point.
As someone who has only seen the first John Wick, this looks painfully generic. The fights feel like they were choreographed by committee rather than a labor of love by veteran stuntmen, trying to imitate the brutal kinetic action sequences without the craft and care needed to impress. As far as Ana de Armas is concerned, she doesn't have much of an onscreen presence and is overshadowed by the inclusion of Keanu Reeves. It's no mistake that "John Wick" comes before "Ballerina" on the logo.
Trailer feels a little off to me. Hope it’s good as I was really looking forward to it, I’m a sucker for female led action stuff but the trailer makes me a little concerned.

@@jesseowenvillamor6348 not sure I can put my finger on it. It just didn’t look exciting to me and I thought Ian McShane looked and sounded a little weird. Maybe that’s just because I’m currently watching him in Deadwood though which is obviously from years ago. It’s not a bad trailer but it didn’t make me more excited for the movie.
