The lovely Cami 9 ready for summer time and the gorgeous cap in pink. Another cap in a great colour. The Charisma knit is a very interesting knit. The Petite Knit in the red makes a statement. The Snow Wonder hope there is enough yarn. Take Care ❤😊
Thank you so much Rosemary. I hope your sister is doing better. Take care. x
Love your entire catalogue of videos. It's especially helpful to see Aussie knitters because its easier for me to find the materials you're using.
Thank you🙂
You are so welcome! :)
Thank you for your always interesting podcasts. You are much appreciated by communities across the oceans. Take care and will see you soon.
Thank you so much Joanne. X
Thanks Tash. So fun to see all your beautiful knits and plans.
Thanks so much Denise. X
Cami no 9 done and dusted and ready for summer. That darling cap looks great on you without a fringe.
Thank you Rosemary! x
Love your Hitch hiker scarf, your Friends From The Vault is a great segment!
I’ve recently released my latest short film in which I had 6 different knitting projects for my character in various stages of completion to help show the passage of time. Only knitters would notice! But whenever we needed to do another take of a scene I had to unpick to maintain continuity! 🤣🤣🤣
The soft purple of the Pur looks gorgeous!
I’m a bit late catching up on this episode but as always am inspired by all your knits and info. Thank you😃🧶
Thank you so much Susie. I couldnt bear to have to keep unknitting for continuity. I hate it enough when i have to do it after making mistakes. Still - what you do for art. :)
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your podcasts. Everything you knit is so beautiful. And your tutorials have been so helpful to me.
Take care of yourself, put your health and well being first, and thanks for all you do ❤❤
Thank you so much Sheila. xx
I love the Ingalls sweater you are wearing! I have just booked a knitting retreat on a European river cruise in November/December next year that your Skein Sisters friends will be joining. I'm really looking forward to it, and hopefully I'll learn a bit more about crochet from those two. The glimpse you showed us of some stash yarn is intriguing, and you'll be so glad for well-deserved vacation time very soon.
Thank you so much. That cruise sounds like it will be wonderful!!
The #9 camisole turned out great! Perseverance paid off! The pink top is going to be stunning on you. Good thoughts for help at the doctors and getting your pain under control. 🤗
Thanks so much Evie x
Love all the knits. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much Nadine. x
Love the Cami end product fits you perfectly! Can't wait for you to start champagne cardi also roots and shoots very pretty❤
Thanks so much Michelle. Me too! Excited for work to be slowing down soon and i can have a bit more knitting and relaxing time. :)
Hi Tash - your Cami looks great - very 'store bought' looking - I love it!
Thanks so much! 😊
Tash, thanks for the terrific podcast. You look beautiful in the ballerina pink Oslo hat. No fringe needed! Thanks also for the mention. BTW, I bought the Myak lace weight for the Fjolla last year. You’ve inspired me to get going on it already. Stay warm and happy knitting.
Thanks so much Rhonda. I just swatched the myak and it is heavenly. Fjolla might be moving up the queue!! :)
Every Time I Watch your podcast I Just want to knit knit knit. See you in 2 weeks ❤️
Thanks so much Micheline. X
Love your podcasts Tash. You have given me some inspiration and ideas for my next knit.
Thank you so much Karen. x
🎉congratulations ! Your cami fits you beautifully!
Thank you so much Rita. x
I love the ballerina yarn color of your Oslo hat💕 so pretty…I need to make a project with that yarn!!! I’ve been keeping you in my prayers and I will pray that your doctor is able to see you sooner or at least suggest something!!!!🙏❤️ Keep taking care of yourself!
Thank you so much Catherine. I really appreciate your prayers. xx
@@mostlyknitting 🙏🥰🥰
Thanks Tash🙏Never fail to entertain 👌I also use stash yet still buy to complement stash for a project rather than just get new..makes sense. Each time I am drawn more the Gillat yarn.. apparently lovely to work with too.I have the Ingalls in my queue but keep changing mind on colour combos..will try your tip on ommitting eyelets mid snowflake / colurwork.See...I do listen! 😉Have a warm weekend.x
Thanks so much Annie. Yes, we are actually being proactive in using stash that has been sitting for a while by giving it a friend to help it come out and play. You will love the Ingalls. Totally awesome knit. And your memory on not knitting the lace across the eyelets is awesome - I had forgotten I did that. 😆
You have so many great ideas to use your stash yarn. You've inspired me to go through my stash and make some plans for yarn I already have. Of course I already have about 6 garments in my Ravelry queue, so I probably won't get to them until next summer - I knit slowly! Hope you get some relief from your arthritis.
Thank you so much. I think sometimes I create a race to finish things in my own mind. But any race as a concept is my own artificial construct and can detract from the quiet joy of making at whatever pace is appropriate for what else is going on in my life. I just need to remember to enjoy each stitch as I make it. 😄
I love all the things you are knitting. The patterns are always so interesting. Thanks for all your podcasts. It's weird to think it's winter there, and we are in the hottest part of summer. 😊 I'm in the USA. By the way, math was always my favorite subject in school. I'm so sorry you have arthritis. I have to tell you that i have had RA since i have been 2 years old. Im now 68. I have used prednisone, and it helped, but now I am dealing with side effects. This was back in the 80s, and they didn't have a good selection of drugs. The one I'm on now is Methotrexate and it seems to really help me. It has put my arthritis into remission. Of course, you have to keep up with blood work, but I haven't had any side effects. May be something to check into if you are interested.
Thank you so much Mary. I have heard that Methotrexate can help so i am glad there are other options out there. The prednisone finally seems to be doing its job and hopefully i can wean down and off it within 6 months or so. I havent had to take it for the last 2 years which has been great.
Hi Tash I hope you manage to get your arthritis sorted soon. Thank you for your podcast, I know it's hard work doing the bobbles but your snowflake is looking amazing 👏
Thank you so much Julie! Bobbles done! Now i have the running out of yarn issue ... :)
@@mostlyknitting good luck with 🧶🐔! I'm for buying another ball if you need to, as the hat is lovely 😍
Thanks so much Julie. :)
That’s so funny because I also knitted that shawl in hand spun and you are right it is a lovely pattern. Your enthusiasm just gets me excited about knitting ❤️. Your knits are looking great and you are really progressing lovely. ❤️
Thank you so much Carol. The shawl in handspun would be beautiful. I look forward to being able to learn to spin. One day. :) x
I always love seeing all your knits. So inspiring! Your Ingalls sweater is beautiful. I was intrigued by that pattern a long time ago, but the pattern photos on Ravelry are so unflattering. Yours makes me want to reconsider.
Thank you so much - even though Ingalls is designed to be oversized, i think it is perhaps a little too oversized in a lot of the photos. x
Thanks Tash. The poppy tee is coming along nicely. The colour is so lovely.
I hope you can get some improvement with your RA. I’m in SA and getting an appointment with a Rheumatologist takes many months here too. ❤
Thank you. Yes, it is hard to wait when you are in pain. I am feeling a bit better. Lower stress is probably helping. Hope you are doing ok. x
Hi Tash! I love seeing your knits coming along. The camisole no. 9 looks great. I am so excited to try the KFO cotton merino but have a bit to work through first. Right now I am knitting the Cloud Top by Petite Knit. I am using Rowan Original Denim. It’s knitting up quickly and looks cute. For my niece. Have a great break!
Thanks so much Elizabeth. I hope you are enjoying the Cloud Top x
I’m amazed at how much you do in two weeks! It’s great and probably tiring. I love the cami and all your knits. Thanks for all the knitting inspiration.
Thank you so much Christine. 😀
Great podcast. Oslo hat is beautiful. All your do are beautiful. The new wip is going to be spectacular. Hope you can slow down and relax soon.
Thank you so much Joan x
Anxious to see your Shore tee. I bought the same yarn and color but haven't started yet....
Thanks so much Jean. Just swatching now. :)
That Oslo hat looks gorgeous on you
Thank you so much Diane. X
I just finished the Peacock Tee in Sandnes Garn Line and it was a quick and lovely knit especially after a couple of tees in Tynn Line. I will definitely makes some Helly Hats to use up leftovers even if it’s to give away. I hope the doctor is able to help you before your October appointment.
Thanks so much Hilda. I am very excited to make these lovely tees. Those Helly hats look like they would be fun to make as well. :)
The hat looks great on you! But I agree, whenever I put my beanies on while my hair is pulled back I find it weird. My hair is long as yours so then I just undo the ponytail and have it frame my face on the sides 👍
I also love the camisole no.9! Not lose, not super tight - perfect!
I knit the regular Robinia in Drops Air. Lovely sweater! It was only my second colour work piece and I wasn't in love with colour work flat but in the end it was worth it.
I am going to send you some pictures on the weekend of the nutiden that I have. My friend who also loves your podcast has some leftovers she doesn't need in a darker warm pink that could also work quite well.
I also have a few suggestions regarding diet and inflammation/autoimmune diseases. But I'll write that in a personal message - if you are interested to hear it 😊
Oh and for the champagne cardigan - it has a very deep yoke. I would think knitting fewer raglan increases would work well to end up with a less oversized cardigan (without the underarm area being up too high in your armpit)
Thank you so much Ursula. I would love to see pics of the nutiden and also hear suggestions on diet and autoimmune diseases. Glad to hear you like your Robinia, even if the knitting wasnt a lot of fun. x
Thank you for the suggestion - i think that is a good plan for me with this cardi to help with the sizing. :)
the beanie looks so cute on you.
Thank you so much Debra. x
Thank you for your lovely podcast. I love the knowledge you have about knitting - I learn so much. Take care of yourself - great that you are learning to say no. My daughter is doing the same - she is an art teacher and learning to do the same. Makes a big difference.
Thank you so much Jan. 😀
I was watching you as I am knitting on the peacock tee in kfo pure silk held double. I love it ,thank you for another great episode
Thanks so much Suzanne. The peacock tee in kfo silk held double sounds beautiful! :)
Hello from San Diego, just found your channel
Hi Monique. Thanks so much for stopping by to say hello. Hope you are enjoying the channel. :)
I really look forward to your videos, Tash. Thank you for doing them in the midst of your rich, and vibrant life! I always add new patterns to my wish list after I see what has caught your eye. Your camisole looks amazing. I don’t think I would have had the fortitude to go on after the “Oopsie,” you had with the sleeve edge. I’m so sorry you haven’t been able to get on top of your arthritis pain. I’m glad you will be seeing your MD and I hope they can expedite a visit to your rheumatologist. ❤ I can’t wait to hear about the mathematician. I have terrible math phobia, so when I heard your description of his approach to mathematics, I was intrigued.
Thank you so much! Fingers crossed for a less painful time ahead 😀
Hi! If you have access to DROPS yarn, you can substitute Sandnes Garn Line with Drops Belle. It's also usually a lot cheaper, but I find the colour range not that great.
Also, regarding the Roots and Shoots Sweater, I think the grey and light blush pinkish yarn go wonderfully together. You might want to hold the grey one with a slightly darker grey silk mohair to increase the contrast a bit more, as you said in the video.
Thank you so much. I’d like to try the Drops Belle. So many yarns to try. 😀
Hi Tash, the tank looks great on you and I love how you got into your stash comments without planning to!
Thanks for answering my knit vs. purl question on the Sorrel in a different video. I started it and it’s a fun knit, just as you said it would be!
I don’t want to make more work for you, though I’m wondering if you could reference US knitting needle sizes in your videos. Just a thought. 😊 Enjoy your lecture!
Thank you so much. I'm really glad you are enjoying your Sorrel.
I appreciate you asking kindly regarding referencing US knitting needle sizes. I'm afraid that isnt what I use and it isnt automatic for me. I definitely use a mish-mash of US and Australian measurements - inches for body measurements but metric for needle sizes.
I have made a conscious decision to speak in the measurements that I use and think in for ease of flow in the podcast. All of my projects are linked in the Descriptions so people can click on a link and see the needle size used and I think it shows there as metric and US. So the information is just a click away.
Thanks for approaching your request in a really nice way. Im sorry that it doesnt for me to do it that way.
:)
@@mostlyknitting No worries! I found a conversion chart that I printed out and keep it next to my computer now. So, when you mention metric needle sizes, I can refer to the chart as I make my notes. 🧶
I’m glad you found a way that works for you. Thank you so much for your understanding. :)
#9 looks great. I just finished knitting it in the recommended yarn and I’m very happy with the results. I found the biggest challenge to be lining up the pickup stitches with the live hem stitches. Thank goodness for stitch markers.
Thank you so much. I totally agree on the handiness of stitch markers - i cant think how i managed without them for as long as i did. :)
Glad you’re scaling back to take care of your health! I hope new meds are coming soon.
Thanks so much Leyla x
Woohoo cami no9 🤎 worth the effort it looks so good. Put the broccoli on your bra and then hop in to your bra like it’s a top, if that makes sense?!
The cold weather has arrived here in the mornings, some morning walks have been 8° 🥶 i’ve been living in cardigans as the days are still warm. Look forward to seeing the April cardigan or more talk about the champagne Cardington they both interest me. I’ve got some flashy diamonte buttons and Jonna had a lovely blue one with those buttons that made me go 🤔 but I want the double knit band.
Thanks for another fun, gorgeously colourful episode. Happy knitting, Karen 🥰
Thanks so much Karen. I think auto correct might have had fun with one of your comments. Is was puzzling over what putting broccoli on my bra meant for a sec. That gave me a good laugh. But i know what you mean. I will give it a go.
I love both the April and the Champagne. I think it might be the blingy buttons that are drawing me to the April - and the pretty colour. I've swatched for Champagne and gotten stitch gauge but not row gauge. Might have to fiddly a bit with the pattern but keen to have that in my wardrobe. :)
Stay warm xx
@@mostlyknitting 🥦😂🤭 oh I’m special!! Made myself laugh too!!! Row gauge can be so rude sometimes, lucky you like math. Have fun 🥰
Thank you Tash. I love your podcasts ! Take care.
Thank you so much Chantal. x
Just a thought about the arthritis that helped me with no meds. I stopped all nightshade family foods, like tomatoes, potatoes, etc. makes a huge difference for me. Glad you will have time to destress soon, too!
Thanks so much Diana. I am definitely willing to play around with my diet to see what helps. Cutting back sugar has helped but i have heard night shade foods can cause problems. Thank you for the suggestion. x
I paused at your friend from the vault to say, I saw something the other day that someone was using for putting knits on, shawls and such. It was like a ladder but had a middle vertical support also. That way there were 2 small ladders put together in essence and could store more items separately. It was super cute all filled with items. I was also thinking that those large wooden peg walls might work. They make shelves for them, I'm sure you could figure out how to make it work and then use the pegs for hats.
🤩👍
Thanks so much for the storage ideas Kera. I definitely want to put some time and thought into how i display them so they look attractive but also remind me of what is there. :)
Great vlog as always Tash. Love all of your wips and fo’s. Some great plans too. I think you need a spreadsheet for all of your yarns 🤣🤣🤣 (if you don’t already have one that is - I use a SS for fabrics. I don’t have enough yarns for one - yet!!). Take care of yourself. Always look forward to your vlogs. Thanks for sharing 🙋🏼🏴
Thanks so much. I have all my yarn in ravelry but even then it is hard for me to keep track of mentally. :)
Bravo ! on finishing the #9, it looks great.
Thanks so much Amy 😀
Hi Tash ! For your beautiful Snow Wonder you might want to take into account that the Gilliat has a reputation for stretching quite a bit. An early blocking might be useful. Thank you so much for your ever so inspiring content !❤
Thank you so much. I will definitely give it a blockwhile on the needles. x
Hi Tash, I love your Charisma! It is definitely on my list, but trying to figure out if I can manage it as a top-down. ??? I’m eager to watch your progress. Thank you for sharing. Be well
Thank you so much Brandi. :)
Tash- I hope you can get some relief from the R arthritis. Hopefully the chance to slow down and relax will help that🩵
Thank you so much Beverly. x
Your Cami#9 is absolutely beautiful 🤎
Thank you so much x
I love that color of Ulysse yarn! I recently purchased two skeins of it to make the Small Fry Scarf by Samantha Guerin. I'm really loving it - it's such a pretty shade of purple and it's really nice to work with.
Thanks for sharing Jessica. I am so glad you are having a positive experience working with the yarn. :)
I’m really appreciative of your tips and tutorials. I will be starting the Anker tee this week, and want to add short rows, so I’ll be watching your tutorial on that!
Oh good! It is a great top. I hope you find the videos helpful. :)
Your projects are coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing the sweater with the snowflake when it's finished. I had racerback clips for my bras and found that I had to extend the straps as far as they would go, and the clip still made the straps uncomfortable. I think two clips with a space between would pull the straps in enough for a racerback top. Maybe I could make a 10 cm strip out of elastic with hooks and eyes on each end to put around each strap to pull them in enough. The ballerina pink Oslo hat looks good both with hair pulled back and pulled down near your face.
Thanks so much Jilian. And thanks for the tip about using two clips to pull the straps in for racerback tops. I'm going to give that a try. :)
Probably racer back bra fit well with those kind of top!
I think you are right. I have to start trying these racer back clips i got (or get a racer back bra). :)
Pink and green look great together imo.
Thanks Suzanne. I like them together. I just was not sure there was enough of a difference in value to create enough contrast. But the mohair i choose for the green could help with that… :)
@@mostlyknitting sometimes subtle is nice, why not swatch using one as background then do the opposite. Love to see the results.
So enjoy your show
Thank you so much Sheila. X
Flash my stash, funny!
I'm glad you are taking some time to slow down. I think health issues are related to stress. I was watching a podcast from January 2024. And I noticed you are talking so much faster now. Do take time for self care.
Thank you so much Toni. Noticing what is different is often the key - stopping to pause and reflect and not just charging on to the next thing. x
I am glad to see all the progress you have made on your FO and WIPs. You inspire me to keep knitting. I am looking to purchase yarn for the Poppy Tee but I can’t do anything that has mohair or wool. Any thoughts? I’ll miss your podcast next week but so happy you are taking time to do what you need to do which is a stress reliever. I truly hope your GP can find a solution to your arthritis issue. I have several children that are dealing with the same thing. 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks so much Maryann. I think the Poppy Tee would be a great pattern for a sport weight wool or wool blend where you get around 23sts over 4”. Madelinetosh pashmina would be beautiful. It is pricey but lovely. Or maybe look for a substitute for that on yarn sub? Xx
@@mostlyknitting thank you so much for that insight. I’ll check it out.
❤❤❤
Hi Tash a lovely podcast, as usual. I do hope that you can get some treatment for the arthritis..... while listening to your friends from the vault part I thought to myself, that you are such an experienced knitter over a long period of time and you keep your knits in such a good condition. Maybe you could do a tutorial about how you take care of them, e.g. how often do you wash them, by hand or in a machine, do you do it differently for plant fibers than wool, how do you dry them etc.... Do you have moths in Australia? If so what do you do to protect the wool... Just an idea for when you have time ..... Take care ......
Thanks so much for your lovely comments and well wishes for the arthritis issues. I like your idea of discussing how i store my knits and care for them. I can definitely do a little episode on that. :)
Lol love it. I'm a maths teacher and I can't even count😂 Love your podcasts Tash. You are an amazing knitter. Nb arthritis. Have you tried or are you on a low carb diet ie less than 40g carbs per day? It works to keep the pain I have in my hand manageable. Much love ❤
Thanks so much Linda. I generally eat pretty low carb and have cut my sugar intake since the flare up but I might start monitoring it a bit more closely. Sometimes we can think we are eating low carb but they sneak in with sauces etc. x
🙏🏻for a solution that will help you feel better 💛
Thank you so much - I really appreciate your prayers. x
So interesting. Can you explain how many skeins you buy when you are getting yarn. Podcasters talk about getting a "sweater quantity" and I know that depends on a person's size, but still, how many do you get? It seems you have 6 skeins for sweater quantity. is that right?
I think it does depend on the weight and the metreage and the type of sweater i am planning to make. With fingering weight, 1200m would work for most sweaters for me. With DK, more like 1000m. I am a 32" bust. Hope that helps. :)
@@mostlyknitting Brilliant. Thank you. We're about the same size so that is really helpful. x
