Having gone through much of what Ciel has is why I hold this song closer than anything to my heart, Ciel, losing his family, having to be strong for everyone, when he's hurting so bad, so much that he rather die getting revenge than live, and vowing not to show weakness. I feel such a feeling of sorrow that when I hear this song, the lost unloved child that is hurting in me, cries every time. He just wants to be a child, to have been loved and raised with the comfort of that love. I've always yearned to be loved, by someone, by the people who were supposed to raise me, protect me, *love me.* Ciel in moments of weakness clings to Sebastian because he is only but a child in a teenagers body. He's still that little boy sitting next to the fire with mommy and daddy playing. But, Sebastian is a demon, apathetic to human emotions and even a parasite to Ciel by urging him to not be 'weak', to go on with his revenge to hold onto that *hate*. Even despite being a demon, even Sebastian is humane enough to know society is pathetic, and cruel. As for me, my parents, they didn't 'love' me the way they were supposed to. Instead, they left me alone. *They don't love me, so they left me.* Is all I remember feeling as a child. I also remember the one happy time I had as a very, very small child. It's all I had before it all crumbled to the ground, till my heart was shattered in pieces and became, cold, empty, and full of hate towards society, towards the universe. Which, in honesty, feels worse having had something so great only for it to be lost forever. Now I just continue to live life as a young adult, with the pain of being so alone despite being surrounded by people. The pain and constant numbness of my own soul just existing inside my body, as life and society has stripped the things I dearly loved, away from me. My time will come as everyone else's will, and I hope that then, I will be able to go back to a family that never could be. Because it never was, and never will be again. It seems like Ciel and I have something in common. It seems safer to sell our souls to be with our demons than continue trying to live happily in a society that is cruel, and simply just a game of chess. I was born with water in my lungs, and being saved has left a dent in my left shin, blue and green with purple lines around it. I was never treated nicely by other children when I was young. I was boycotted and deemed a freak, while my sister was embraced and played with by the very same people, and I had to watch them, isolated, by them and the adults alike. Without detailing much, I can say my childhood has been traumatizing in an irreversible way, to this day. Was even declined attendance, let alone celebration, for my twin sister's 11th birthday party, which was with another girl. When I was 13, my hair started going white due to my constant stress and health issues. For the next few years, my health had only gotten worse, to the point I wasn't guaranteed to make it to 18. I was not born under the name Ciel, but never liked my birthname, which had almost the same meaning. It never felt like my own, and I have always wanted to change it. My mother and I chose the name Ciel for me together, unrelated to the series, despite how much it had touched my heart. Everyone I have met, whether they knew of my deadname or not, have agreed that Ciel is the name that suits me. I recently got to celebrate my 18th birthday, against all chances, and am staying strong despite my health.
